Guitarist looking to start punk rock band (Binghamton, NY)

I'm looking to start a punk rock band. I've been playing guitar for over 10 years and have played mostly classic rock but want to try to start a band playing the music I grew up listening to. I used to be in a punk band years ago in high school (I'm 23 now) and played in a classic rock band for about 5 years after that around Binghamton so I have experience playing out. I'd like to start with covers but move to trying to write some originals. I don't have a place to practice but am willing to travel to pretty much anywhere in the area. I have all my own equipment that is more than enough to play out. Bands that I'd like to try to cover/sound like: Thursday, Pennywise, The Offspring, Tsunami Bomb, Rise Against, Blink 182, Millencolin ... basically poppy punk that's fun to play. Found black lab (Windsor, NY)

11/21/2009 - Found black lab dog off North Rd exit in Windsor. Black lab was found sleeping in our driveway this morning on Liberty Hwy. No collar - appears well taken care of. If you have lost a dog similar to this please contact me with some sort of identification for the animal. I will be contacting our local dog warden at some point this weekend and I would hate to see her go to the pound as she is very sweet and well behaved. Our house is close to the highway so she could very well have come from the direction of Kirkwood or the Sanitaria Springs/North Rd area.

3 Year Old Chihuahua (Bing/JC)

I am looking for info on a shelter or individial interested in adopting my chihuahua. He is a 3 year old male, fixed, black with a brown mask and markings, short haired, approxiamtely 8 pounds, born July 13th, 2006.

Here is the background info:

He really needs to go to a friendly shelter (not the pound) or individual who takes in animals. I would not reccommend him to go to a home with small children. He has really started to go down hill in regards to his demenor, getting extremely teritorial and aggressive towards outsiders. He bits guests that come to our home (never broken skin because his mouth is so small, although I am sure that he tries). It all started when my son was born two years ago-he became extremely protective then and it has just snow balled from there. He will have accidents if left home alone for longer periods of time-does use pee pee pads if you have them. We are now expecting another baby and really need to find someone to help him out.

He loves to cuddle, does not mind other dogs, especially larger breeds like a lab etc. Tends to be more terrritorial with smaller breeds.

There is no adoption fee, he is free to anyone who can offer him some help. We MUST meet adoptee first. He may be aggressive if you come to our home. If you cannot adopt but have info please e-mail me as well! He comes with crate, leash, collar, water/food dish, food, winter coat (he does not like the snow/cold.)

Many of us full-time student veterans are having a hard time making ends meet due to the fact the GI Bill is our major source of income. Some of us have received one-time advance payments, however the VA has failed to follow through as to when we will get any future payments. Please email Senator Gillibrand and ask her why thousands of us have failed to receive our payments, ask her why the college semester is half over and there is still no word for many of us when or if we will be getting any money. WHY is the VA so understaffed that it is taking months to get so many NY veterans their Post-911 GI bill? Please ask her to put urgency to the VA office in Buffalo to give us a target date so we may budget accordingly. WHY is it ok that so many veterans are unable to pay their bills when they were promised a larger and better GI Bill that has yet to even reach so many of us? Perhaps if we worked at Wall Street we would have been paid sooner.

Coming in January we will be doing custom reptile / amphibian terrariums .Bring your own tank and with assistance as needed build a little bit of nature indoors.

She loves to meet new people and our cat is a bit of a loner so he doesn't come out from hiding too often. He is also declawed so no worry about scratches.

We live in a really quiet neighborhood. Our house is a small two bedroom. We are currently finishing up redoing our basement to make more room. We should be completely done by Christmas time.

We don't live too far from Port Dick Park or Otsinengo Park so on nice days we could get outside. For yucky days we have lots of Disney movies and I also enjoy doing crafts, coloring, and fun little projects for children.

I would really love to get the chance to speak with anyone who is interested in having me watch their child or children. FOUND-Black and White Cat (Vestal, NY)

A black and white cat has been found roaming the parking lot of the Holiday Inn Express on the Vestal parkway. I rescued it (not sure if it's a female or male) after seeing it come out to interact with people in the parking lot. After watching it for a few days, I decided to bring it to my apartment knowing how cold it is getting overnight. She willingly went into the crate and is the sweetest cat. She loves to be pet and rub up against you. She even licks your fingers! She's most likely between the ages 6 months-1 year old. I have a feeling that she was once someone's cat because she does not act feral at all and is comfortable inside. If this is your cat, or you are interested in adopting it-please let me know. If you are interested in adopting-I am asking a small rehoming fee of $25 to make sure you are truly adopting with the best intensions.
