Guitarist looking to start punk rock band (Binghamton, NY)

I'm looking to start a punk rock band. I've been playing guitar for over 10 years and have played mostly classic rock but want to try to start a band playing the music I grew up listening to. I used to be in a punk band years ago in high school (I'm 23 now) and played in a classic rock band for about 5 years after that around Binghamton so I have experience playing out. I'd like to start with covers but move to trying to write some originals. I don't have a place to practice but am willing to travel to pretty much anywhere in the area. I have all my own equipment that is more than enough to play out. Bands that I'd like to try to cover/sound like: Thursday, Pennywise, The Offspring, Tsunami Bomb, Rise Against, Blink 182, Millencolin ... basically poppy punk that's fun to play. Our newly-forming band is currently seeking a vocalist. We currently consist of lead guitar, rhythm guitar, bass, and drums (with keys played by our guitarists for certain songs). Our style of music can be described as ecclectic, but we mostly revolve around alternative/ progressive rock, blues, and "indie" rock. We're looking for either male or female vocalists. We hope to find a vocalist who truly treats their voice as an instrument, and not just a lyric-delivery-device; someone who can deliver raw emotion with their vocals.

The ideal vocalist would play one or more instruments (guitar and/ or keys). We want someone who is comfortable writing lyrics and contributing in our songwriting efforts, though you won't necessarily be rejected if you can't. You must have reliable transportation or live within the city limits of Binghamton (we can pick you up, but we don't want to drive too far if we need to do that). If you play one or more instruments, you need your own equipment. Experience and confidence on stage is a huge plus! We're currently holding auditions on Mondays and Thursdays between noon and 4 PM. You can come to us, or we can come to you (so long as you live in or close to Binghamton). For your audition, you can sing whatever you want, albeit a cover or something you've written, and if you need to bring a CD, that's fine. You will not be told at the audition if you're in or not, because we want to audition as many people as we can before we make any final decisions.
