QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree in Social Work

• Foster activities that assure services are conducted according to the most current evidence-based practices.
• Participate in internal audit functions, in cooperation with the Director of Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and Contract Management to assure regulatory compliance and highest quality services.
• Maintain a caseload to be determined
• Provide intake, assessment, treatment planning, therapy, and discharge planning services to individuals, families, and groups of adults and children who are clients of the agency
• Provide supervisory coverage on a rotating basis for the after hours beeper
• Consult with appropriate collateral resources involved with the clients of the agency.
• Utilize a systems approach to providing services in order to help clients achieve improved family, community, and individual functioning.
• Maintain case records in accordance with regulating bodies.
• Assess appropriateness of clients for services, and make referrals for additional services as needed.
• Maintain positive working relationships with other agencies in the community and represent ARISE in a positive and professional manner.
• Participate in community efforts to address service gaps, as needed.

Health Promotion Associate (Whitney Point): Position with the Rural Health Network of South Central NY. The Health Promotion Associate will support and assist with community based wellness programs, local foods/nutrition projects and rural schools health initiatives. This is a 455 hour position.

Assistant to Youth Initiative Program Directors (Binghamton): This is a 303 hour position with Broome County Council of Churches. The individual will report to two program directors and will be responsible for aiding in the implementation and development of the Wheel Chair Ramp Program for Broome County Council of Churches. This position involves hands-on gardening as well as student outreach and workshop support.

Tourism Project Coordinator (Owego): This 303 hour position involves assisting in the planning, organization and management of the Bike Tioga 2010 event.  This position will also assist with the coordination and management of the “Walkable Communities” Passport project. While working onsite, assist visitors with appropriate tourism information in Visitor’s Center, Owego. Update relevant websites and assist in office administration projects as needed.

PAL Center Assistant (Binghamton, Norwich, Sidney, and Walton):  Responsibilities of this 455 hour position include working in the PAL (Parents As Leaders) Center along side the Center Coordinators, providing activities and information to parents and children birth to five. Mileage reimbursement for travel to centers other than Binghamton. PAL Center hours of operation at all sites are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. and Thursday from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm. (Thursday evening work is required)

Job Title: Canine Kennel Staff Attendant - Part-time 16-20 hours/week

Broad Function: The canine kennel staff attendant is responsible for the sanitary, and humane operation of the kennel facilities & the health and welfare of animals in our care, as well as working collaboratively to further the mission of the organization. Performs all job responsibilities and duties within established policies and procedures.

Works collaboratively with the Kennel Manager, Director, Vet Tech., fellow kennel attendants, and other shelter personnel to achieve a clean and sanitary environment for animals we serve.

Bathe dogs for adoptions, and as needed

Feed all dogs in shelter twice daily, provide water. Walk dogs. Socialize / work with dogs. Clean and check animal’s eyes and ears, as needed. Groom animals, as needed. Administer animal medications.

Watch for health & behavior problems

Assist the public & volunteers

Clean garage. Maintain an organized garage area. Sort bottles and cans for redemption.

Do dishes. Disinfect all food and water dishes.

Wash, dry, fold and put away laundry

Assist with fundraising activities, as needed

Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry room

Maintain the cleanliness of the food/tub room. Restock food and rotate to ensure oldest is used first

Authority: The kennel attendant will report to the Kennel Manager, and will have a collaborative relationship with the Director, Vet, Vet Tech., feline staff, & office staff.
This is an entry level position.

Qualifications:
- At least a high school graduate or GED. BOCES or animal care study program preferred, but not required.
- Excellent communication and public relations skills.
- Animal care experience in a shelter environment preferred.
- Good problem solving skills & self-starting skills.
- Willingness to attend training to upgrade skill level.

Salary: Current range minimum wage.

POSITION SUMMARY

Let your people skills shine as a residential aid for a well-established nonprofit organization. You will serve as a Residential Aid Saturday and Sunday nights from 4 p.m. to midnight. You are in charge of all incoming intakes to the Emergency Shelter and responsible for assisting consumers with any special needs that may come up. Additionally you will be responsible for assisting in cleaning rooms when people exit the YWCA; as well as monitoring other chores around the building. You may also provide security coverage at the reception desk, screening all visitors. 1. Complete intakes of people entering the YWCA Emergency Shelter
2. Support residential staff and residential consumers to uphold housing policies, curfews and respond to health/safety issues such as fire alarms, elevator malfunctions or medical emergencies.
3. Communicate with agencies in the community regarding YWCA Residential Services
4. Maintain appropriate boundaries with clients at all times

483.430 - Condition of participation: Facility staffing.

(a) Standard: Qualified mental retardation professional. Each client's active treatment program must be integrated, coordinated and monitored by a qualified mental retardation professional who (1) Has at least one year of experience working directly with persons with mental retardation or other developmental disabilities; and (2) Is one of the following: (i) A doctor of medicine or osteopathy.

(ii) A registered nurse.

(iii) An individual who holds at least a bachelor's degree in a professional category specified in paragraph (b)(5) of this section.

(x) To be designated as a human services professional an individual must have at least a bachelor's degree in a human services field (including, but not limited to: sociology, special education, rehabilitation counseling, and psychology).
