It's awful, simply awful. My kid lied to her school counselor and to a social worker once; she claimed to both that I'd hit her. My ex "confirmed" it, though she was miles away when the supposed incident happened. A social worker "investigated", but all she did was interview me, interview my kid, note the differences in our recounting, decide my kid was telling the truth, and that was that. Years later, when my kid reopened discussion on the topic, I reminded her of her claim. "You never hit me, Dad," was her response. "Yes," I replied, "but you SAID I did. Your lie caused me many, many problems, especially when your mother started spreading around the idea that I'd 'hit' you." Any parent nowadays should make sure all encounters with kids are 100% videotaped. Children have enormous power and use it without remorse to manipulate their parents.

Moving Service

I've used Honest John and he was great. I had originally hired another company to move me and on the day of the move, they never showed up. After calling everyone I could find on CL and in the phonebook, I called U-Haul and asked if they recommended anyone. They gave me Honest John's number and he was there to move me within in an hour and charged me less than the original moving company was going to charge me. Also, none of my furniture was damaged and none of the walls and floors were damaged.

Has anyone used this moving service?

I am looking for references for a moving company called "Honest John's Moving Service" . Please contact me to let me know what you think of their service.

I think when someones on dss

that they should have a worker at dss, that gives the women the shot to prevent pregnancy. that way taxpayers dont have to pay even more... the women would not get their cash/food stamps, or even medicaid if they refuse the shot. and every time the shot is due, they have to come in and get it b4 they would recieve any benifits...

May i recommend doing some volunteer work, i know a few families that do volunteer work on Christmas day and other holidays. For example working at a pantry or visting a nursing home or the physc center to give presents to people that don't have anyone else either. It is a great expirence and it fills your heart, i used to do it for a few years myself.

Not to many would bring and attorney to small claims. But yes in Supreme court you will bring one I know I just filed in Supreme court and it was $5,000.00 retainer but it will be worth it you are very right in small calims its very tricky and you better know what to say when because the jusdge doesn't listen to just anything and you better have all documents in order and be able to show reciepts of the loss. And I do know from experience they never give lost wages unless maybe do to an accident.

Its not up to the court clerk to tell you where you should be filing. Since it appears you do not have an attorney, you'd better do your research and do it well. You could be COMPLETELY RIGHT with your claims, but if you can't manuever around PROCEDURE in the court room - you are screwed. A pro se (no attorney aka self-represented) will be given SOME leniency, more or less depending on the judge, but you'd better have SOME idea of what you are doing.

Outsourcing is a serious problem - why do so many people overlook it? We are losing jobs and have been. The latest unemployment stated we lost HOW many jobs in the past 6 months? - well, they can be attributed to the big, bad "recession." But what about BEFORE the recession? We lost millions of jobs to outsourcing BEFORE the recession. We want our products to be as cheap as possible, but who really understands how that becomes possible. Under Clinton, there were heavy taxes and levies placed upon U.S. Corporations that outsourced OUR JOBS to other countries . When Bush came into office, most of those taxes were lifted so U.S. corps. were basically given free rein to OUTSOURCE OUR JOBS to other countries - e.g., China, Taiwan, India, Mexico. The long-term effects have been devastating to our economy. Its not the only reason for the crisis we face today, but is certainly a major contributing factor. (Btw, not trying to start a political debate with this - just stating FACTS under the 2 administrations.)

Bottom line is - you want "cheap" goods - well, how "cheap" are they REALLY?

I don't know where you get your figures from but I make $13.00 hour and support my family of 4 and am not eligible for any services except a HEAP grant. Well the holiday season is upon us once again. I am just wondering and watching to see how many of the poor stressed out individuals that are on welfare and social security will be starting the postings of " need help for christmas. have so many kids and the system isnt paying enough for me to get them anything from santa " will appear. I think that us the tax payer's should get on here and start asking " when will the people on goverment programs " start helping us. ( like that will happen. ) Start helping yourselves. Further if you read the line next to New York it reads "local county sales tax of between 3.125% to 4.75%" but is that even right being Broome county sales tax is 8.25%? Then don't forget you have to consider that the gas station has to pay for the gas to the folks that sold it to them and brought it in this huge tank trucks. Manly's to Mirabito, Sunoco to Citgo get charged by the companies that have to store and deliver the fuel. Them big trucks don't run of just air! The gas station we will call "Station X" might only make only a few cents on every gallon they sell as they also have to pay for the pumps. Actually the "Station X" makes more money off of selling you a Mountain Dew then what they are getting in the end for $5 in gas you just bought!

Obama instituted the "Cash for Clunkers" program has him and Al Gore were hoping everybody ran out and bought a brand new Prius. Actually this is all an exercise in the "Go Green" mentality. It is a tax on Air. They want you to buy into it! Back in the mid to late 1970's we started running Catalytic Converters on cars to prevent Global Cooling...that is right I said Global Cooling. They are all worried about the rise of green house gasses in the atmosphere, what they are not telling you is that the same gasses increased at the beginning of the last Ice Age, and that while Al Gore and his kind tell you that you have to ride a bicycle to work, they are not going to start reducing any of their emissions to spite us!

I had a FWB for awhile and it was pretty nice. We were both on the same page and it didn't become complicated. It lasted about 4-5 months. I'm in my 50's, male and single. At http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12400801/ns/business-oil_and_energy/ it shows crude oil selling for $77.43 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Since there are 42 gallons in a barrel of oil, that comes out to $1.84 per gallon. That's much more than your 22 cents in your post. At your rate, a barrel of oil would cost $9.24.

At http://www.newton.dep.anl.gov/askasci/eng99/eng99288.htm it says that about 19.5 gallons of gas can be made from one 42 barrel of oil. The rest is made into other products. So now that takes it to $2.15 per gallon.

Those are FACTS and sources that I found. Where are yours?

Nope,not going to cry and am not going to throw obscenities at you either for I too am a white christian male and more and more I see my position sliding down towards the asshole end of society.I am also a registered Independent and voted that way this last election and I also voted for McCain/Palin...not so much as I felt warm and fuzzy about those two but,more because I kept asking,who the hell is Obama?.....I never felt good about him and like I posted a long time ago,the fact that he's HALF black was the least of my concerns.I don't like his smile,I don't like his politics and I don't like the people he chose for his cabinet.I don't like his bailout of GM and the banking industry and yet,it all falls in line with the rest of his presidency so far......take away from those that have and give to those who don't and especially to those who will piss it away the fastest.Everyday since he gave all that money to the banks to keep them alive,there's a story out there where the same bankers that cried poverty are the same that are taking/giving away large bonuses.And what is the average person suppose to do with that information? Get more and more frustrated at what we see and hear and then add more frustration on top of that because there ain't a damn thing we can do about it.....except vote,and that my friends has been proven to be a waste of time in last 10 years or so......

Yeah,the system in New York is broke if you look at it from the perspective of anyone that lives here and has to put up with Albany's crap.Welfare is out of control when a jobless family has more than a family with two working adults.Medicaid is out of control when a lazy jobless mother brings her illigitamate offspring to the doctor everytime the kid sneezes or coughs.The family courts are out of control when someone ordered to pay for the cost of their kid keeps getting out of paying with useless excuses that the courts easily accept.Our state government is out of control when our local senator can,with the help of a few of his buddies,bring the state to a halt for 30 days with absolutly no conceiquences what so ever.Our federal government is out of control when the president can blow a trillion dollars and now we're hearing that alot off that money was given to the people who didn't need it.Surprised? Our G'ment is out of control when it wants to now allow anyone with the AIDS virus to just walk right in and get free medical care and yet so many Americans can't get any help at all.As an American and a resident of New York,I feel like a host who's being sucked dry by thousands and millions of parasites and in fact,that's exactly what's happening to us all.

Maybe it's getting closer to a time when things will have to be done differently and politicians punished by more than just voting them out.

lets talk about child susport, what a joke! iam raising a five yr. old without any help fron either absent parent and yes there is a court order for susport i recieved a chk last week the amount from the father 7.50 the amount from the mother whos in the arrears for 875.00 . you can put gas in ur car drive to family court spend at least a hour or so there lost time from work. file more papers just to be told .you cannot make someone be a parent. have a nice day and good luck. now thats a joke. to all the young people who choose to reproduce. try using a condom or birth control.you dont want your children then dont breed.

Just as I expectd, people R quick to attack. No, you don't have to wait miles behind the garbage truck, but you DO have to yield the Right Of Way. Thats why there are accidents, everybody is in a hurry, and want to whip right around that truck without a care for on coming traffic. There were three major accidents yesterday, at each one at least one of the cars had to be towed, and it tied up traffic for hours, and all they had to do was slow down look before leaping, and everyone would of been on their way, but now several people are without their car today and have to spend christmas money for repairs---towing---Ins. --and if they got a ticket for it, wow, glad it wasn't me. So go ahead drive like you want, your on borrowed time. The signs are there for a reason, gee that don't give tickets to good drivers.

charging for collecting support?....i get court ordered $12.00 a week! But hey...I did get the whole $1.00 cost of living increase so it's now up to a whopping $13.00 a week! And you're telling me they are going to take from that? But yet welfare ppl don't get charged? That's bullshit! The ppl on welfare have more money than a working family that doesn't "qualify" for ANY type of assistance!
