Employment Specialist (Birmingham, Alabama)

A new and growing nonprofit organization is seeking an Employment Specialist to assist adults with developmental disabilities in finding and keeping a job. The ideal candidate must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. A Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services field or Marketing/PR field is preferred. The Employment Specialist will identify potential employers in the Birmingham area and build a relationship with these employers. The Employment Specialist will also assess the strengths and gifts of the individuals pursuing employment and match the person to the Employer based on this assessment. After the individual is hired, the Employment Specialist will coach the person until he/she is comfortable on the job.
