Medical Advocate (Christiansburg VA)
MUST HAVE MEDICAL OFFICE AND/OR HOSPICE, MEDICAL ADVOCACY BACKGROUND, PROVEN SKILLS, OR OTHER RELATED BACKGROUND TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION!
Basic requirements and skills are being able to follow established company protocol and procedures on case load management, Document company database in a timely and thorough manner, maintain current caseload according to company protocol, track approved accounts through the billing process as needed, attend company and/or facility compliance training, comply with all company policies and state and federal regulations including but not limited to attendance, performance, patient privacy, system security and safety.
Interpersonal Skills will include being able to communicate effectively and efficiently with supervisor and clients to include but not limited to patients, hospital staff, agency staff and co-workers. Must be able to choose and judge ethical courses of action. Must be able to demonstrate initiative to accomplish tasks in an independent and timely fashion. Must work very well with others.
Needed experience will include knowledge of computer systems well enough to learn company database, use of mulit-line phone system and use general office equipment such as fax machines, copiers and tools for mailing.
