Missy is a doll of a dog that was pulled from a kill shelter in TN. She weighs about 14 pounds. She is estimated to be around 1 year old. She may be part Jack Russ/Chih. She is tricolored. She is a snuggle baby and likes nothing more to curl up on your lap and go to sleep. She is great with other dogs. She ok with cats, although she likes to bark at them sometimes. My cats don't pay her any mind lol. She is very submissive so she would do good in a home with a bossy older dog. She is leash trained. She loves to sleep in the bed with you in the night. She is potty trained and crate trained. She has the run of the farm and goes outside here as she likes.

Adoption fee is $130.00. She is current on all vaccinations, dewormed, hw tested and on prevention. She will be spayed before she goes to her new home. The spay fee is included in the fee. Wonderful dog needs new home (Blacksburg)

Reese is a wonderful male boxer mix who is approximately 9-10 months old. I saved him from the pound, where he had been brought in as a stray. He is absolutely the sweetest dog and is very mellow and submissive around people and other dogs. He gets along great with every person, dog, and cat he meets. Reese is housetrained and has been great the few times he has been left in a crate. He is leash trained, knows how to sit, rides well in the car, and just loves being around people. He is UTD on shots, flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventative, and was just neutered. I am asking an adoption fee to help cover some of the costs for all his shots, adoption fee, and neuter. I would like him to go to a home that either has other inside dogs or with a person who will be home with him most of the day. Beautiful senior female Pomeranian (nrv)

Local Small Dog Rescue is searching for a home for a lovable, white, senior Pomeranian. Moochie came to rescue about 18 months ago. She’s probably 8-10 years of age and deaf. She loves attention and is very, very friendly. She’s a small girl, maybe 5-7 pounds. She has had to have all teeth pulled but eats very well! Moochie has had a great home for the past year or so, but due to the downturn in the economy her family is moving and they are not allowed pets. They are heartbroken….

In need of a rescue's help

I am trying to help someone ( a breeder) place all of their dogs. All are purebred, most are up to date on rabies, all are up to date on parvo shots. The smallest is a teacup chihuahua, the largest is the only mixed breed and it weighs roughly 40 pounds ( it is only 6-8 months old). There are 8-12 dogs that we really need to place. There are 26 all together, but we have found several breed rescues in the area to take some. All of these dogs are great with other pets. Only one will be special needs. Please send me your rescue information and contact number. I do NOT own these dogs, just trying to help someone who really needs it. All are purebred, some are pregnant. All but 2-3 are females. 90% of them are housetrained. All are young dogs. They would be very easy to adopt out. I just do not have the resources available to bring them to me. They are all friendly, 5-6 may be shy untill you let them come to you. But most have a very sweet and outgoing personality. Please if any rescues have opening, please contact me.
We prefer to place them all with one or two different rescues, not individuals. Some of these dogs will need to adjust before placing them into homes with children.

Two free gerbils to a good home :) (Blacksburg)

I have two cute gerbils (father and son) that need a new home.They are adorable but I no longer can give them the love they need with the amount of animals I already have.
The father is black with white patches, and the son is albino. The father has only three legs (we suspect the person taking care of him before had a cat who got a hold of him). He doesn't seem to notice and runs around completely fine.
Their hobbies include: pretend burrowing, chewing cardboard, thumping when dogs are near, and being gerbils.
They come with a cage and water bottle, though one teensy part of the cage looks a little ghetto and is duct taped.

Need Bunny Sitter

I am in need of someone responsible who can take care of my bunny. My usual sitter is going out of town for the holiday weekend. I'm leaving Friday through the following Monday and looking to pay $15 or a little more. She is a very easy bunny, aside from needing to be brushed. Basically you just have to fill her food dish and water and give her fresh hay(takes 10 minutes tops) and change the tray of the cage every couple days which only takes about 20 minutes. Then play with her and brush her as much as you want. She loves to run around, but if she cant do that much, its ok as its just a week.

Need Petsitter Friday thru next weekend

I am looking for a petsitter for a very small dog. I can't get ahold of my normal petsitter, so I need a backup just in case. She is OK with dogs - does better with medium to large dogs that are gentle. She tends to nip if she gets hurt/tackled too hard, but can be called off very easily. I have a very nice hamster cage with a teddy bear hamster for sell. The hamster"s name is Nina and of course she is a female. I have had her since she was small and she is the best hamster I've ever had. I need to get rid of some of my animals because it costs more money than I have right now to take care of my animals properly. This cage came from Petsmart. I paid 60 dollars for it. Two ferrets need a home.

I have two ferrets who need a new home. They are less than two years old, and are bonded, so they must stay together. The male is pale cinnamon colored, and the female is sable. They are neutered and descented, and very healthy. They like to take treats right from my hand, and they have never bitten me.



I am asking a $110 rehoming fee WITH THEIR CAGE, hammock and supplies, or $60 fee for just the ferrets. This is nothing close to what we have spent on them, we are just trying to find them a good, loving home. We would prefer someone who has experience with ferrets already. Looking for the shelter that needed help feeding orphaned puppies (NRV)

A couple weeks ago I saw a post on here about a shelter that needed help bottle feeding orphaned puppies because their mother was hit by a car. I took notice of it because I would have been glad to help except that I was bottle feeding my own orphaned puppies and 2 was enough for me. I have weaned them now and am left with some unneeded things. I have 1 can of Esbilac powdered puppy milk that I opened a week ago and only used about 4 tablespoons out of. Once opened it is only good for a month so I was hoping to donate it to this shelter in hopes that they can get some use out of it before it goes bad. I also have 3 preemie baby bottles that I used to feed my pups. They are dachshunds and did very well with this size. If anyone knows what shelter it was PLEASE contact me, I might try calling around later today if I don't hear from anyone. Found Black Lab/Mix (Ripplemead, VA)

Lg Male Black Lab Mix? Found in Ripplemead, VA. He has a black spike collar on and looks to be predominately a black lab with white markings. He looks to still be a pup or at least a young adult less than a year old and has not been neutered. He is a very loving and friendly dog!

If this dog is not claimed soon he will have to be turned over to the Giles County Animal Shelter and please be aware, they UTHENIZE. We do not want this to happen, but may have no other options, so please make your claim ASAP! I don't have the dog. I actually posted this for my sister-in-law to help out. The dog basically landed on their porch almost two weeks ago and hasn't left since. In the meantime, she's been feeding/watering him, BUT they already have several other animals (three outdoor & one indoor) and simply can not afford to keep him for to much longer, but is keeping him for a short time within reason, hopefully until he can be claimed or adopted. Then there's the matter of tags & such. And if Animal Control see's him without tags, they will pick him up AND they frequently monitor the area. As for me, my landlord does NOT allow pets. Unfortunately, he's in a small town where there just aren't a lot of good options either.

I am an animal lover too, but there's only so much one can do...all we can do is try our best. Also, it's really sad that more owners/landlords don't allow pets (w/a pet deposit of course). My son had his cat six years, but had to move and literally no owners would take pets, so in order to find a place for him to live, he had to surrender his cat to a Humane Society. He was heartbroken, but thankfully was at least a "no-kill" shelter.

Puppies---Ready Dec. 6th (Blacksburg/ Christiansburg)

I have two mixed breed puppies that will be ready to leave their mother Dec. 6, 2009. The father is a brindle mix and the mother is a purebreed beagle. I wouldn't think that the puppies themselves will get much over 30 lbs as they have more of the beagle body. The mother is 23lbs full grown and the father is roughly about 40-45lbs maximum, probly not even that (just a guess). There are two females.. I was not able to load the pictures onto this add, but I can send the pictures to you if interested. I also have pictures of the mother and father as well if you would like to see.

Kuro is a black Lab mix. The exact mix is not known, but the best guess is a Beagle. She weighs 30 lbs and is fully grown. She is 2 years old. I have had her since she was 4 months old, rescued from terrible living conditions with an irresponsible owner. She is a very friendly dog and loves to play fetch for hours on end and run around outside. Great with other dogs, though sometimes can be a little possessive about toys with them. She is sometimes shy around new people, but warms up quickly with a few treats. She is housebroken and has had obedience training and is usually very good about letting you know when it's time to go out. The decision to post this ad was a hard one because she is a loving and delightful dog and is truly a sweetheart. However, my circumstances have changed and it is just not possible for me to keep up with the financial responsibility or time commitment that having a dog entails. She is up to date on her shots. I am giving her free to a good home, but I am asking that you make a donation to the local animal shelter. I have a crate/kennel available if you would like it for $40. Need bale of hay for rabbits

I am looking for a RESPONSIBLE seller that has hay available and hopefully will in the future. Looking for a primarily timothy hay with orchard grass, fescue, or clover. Four kittens need homes (Pulaski)

I have four kittens who are in search of new loving homes. All have been raised with other cats, children and dogs.

1-) 4 month old long haired gray and black tabby striped boy. *VERY* big guy, very gentle, and loves attention.

2.) 2 -4 month old white cats. 1 male, 1 female. They are nearly solid white, but both have a tiny and very pale smudge of gray on the tops of their heads. These are gorgeous kittens, and I'd love to see them stay together. Veyr playful, very, very pretty, and affectionate.

3.) 3 month old black and white tux boy. He's a tiny, skinny, little guy and he's still very much a baby. He's a bit shyer than the rest, but relishes attention even if he doesn't seek it out often.

There is no adoption fee. You must be able to pick up in the Pulaski area.

This situation *is* desperate. Please, please, please help if you are at all able to.

I picked up a calico cat in the middle of Pepper's Ferry just past the strip mall where Mama Concettas is. She was hit by a car but has only some minor wounds on her leg. I did a FELV/FIV test and vaccinated her for Rabies and she is on antibiotics and pain medication and ready to go to a home!!! I can't keep her- my husband is allergic to cats. Found SWEET Tan Mixed Dog (Christiansburg Pike, Floyd VA)

This sweet as can be dog showed up in our yard on Tuesday 11/10/09 afternoon. Ran off for a little while, woke up this morning and she (I think a she) was sleeping on our porch chair. She looks like a lab mix, light tan in color, eyes are kinda squinty. Not wearing a collar or tags of any kind but she obviously belongs to someone because she is very friendly and playful with both adults and children. Found-stray orange tabby cat-male (Blacksburg)

There has been a stray orange tabby cat with white tip of a tail hanging around our house for about a week. If anyone is missing a cat matching this description, please contact me (Stroubles Mill Subdivision). It is a very friendly cat and wants indoors, so it appears to be used to people and living inside. If anyone is missing this cat (or wants this cat) please contact me. No collar found on the cat. Reptiles - we can take them, we also adopt them out (Christiansburg)

VA Reptile Rescue, Inc. is the only incorporated reptile rescue in VA (that we know of). We have been operating since 1999 and have moved to the NRV last summer.
We can help find new homes for reptiles and amphibians that are no longer wanted or cannot be kept any longer. We can do emergency snake removal on your property if you are near the NRV.
The animals we take in are rehomed to screened, appropriate homes. Most of these homes are with private residences, some are with nature centers, schools, and even zoos. We have a national network of other rescuers, and often help each other.
In the NRV, we need a few more volunteers who can come help with feeding, cleaning, and handling. We don't currently need foster homes, but that can change at any time if we get in a large group at one time.
We are always in need of donations of frozen rodents, including rabbits. We can also use some caging materials, but are limited in space.
Right now we need rolls of insulation to prepare for the upcoming winter. The new reptile room is on stilts, and needs insulation below the floor.

There is a very friendly tabby cat with white feet and chest hanging around Shawnee apts in Blacksburg. I will try and take a picture later. It has been trained to go outdoors and appears to be neutered. It has 6 toes on its front paws.

Cat&Kitten in Cburg - SCAM (NRV)

Hey Everyone. Just wanted to let you know, dont waste your time to get this kitten. I drove 45 mins to meet with Heather to pick up the kitten. Spoke multiple times to her on the way, with maybe 10 mins left, called once we arrived - what do ya know? No answer. Waited about 30 mins, called multiple times, multiple numbers (not crazy, i promise. I was just picking up this kitten for my 3 year old who was so excited that mommy was coming home with a kitten) We thought for sure this kitten was ours (: After about 30 mins, she turned her phone completely off. 2 hours later, we are back home and her phone is STILL off. Please please do not waste your time. Believe me, a not so nice email will be sent. We actually stayed in CBurg for a little bit and actually bought a couple trading posts and newspapers and called multiple numbers while we were up there to see if there were any kittens because we desperately needed to bring a kitten home to my son, who now is very upset mommy came back with nothing. Its one thing to stand an adult up - its another to stand a 3 year old up. But i better stop now, becasue I am STILL very upset. And by the way Heather i publicly want to THANK YOU for wasting my day & breaking my childs heart!!! You could've at least let us know you weren't coming - not just NOT show up!

We have 1 male kitten that is 8 weeks old. Hes black and white and very sweet. He can eat hard food now but we have been giving him soft/wet food still once a day kind of like a treat he is also compleltley litter boxed trained. He has never been outside or around dogs but i do think he would do fine with dogs. He has not had his shots or seen a vet yet, but seems to be in perfect health. The other cat we have is his mother. She is a long haired gray and white female. She has had 2 litters and is a little over 1 year old. She also has never seen a vet but seems to be in perfect health. She is an indoor outdoor cat but perfers indoor. She is also litter boxed trained and we also give her soft/wet food once a day but she does just fine on hard food. I love both this cats but i am not allowed to have animals. She had 6 kittens and this little guy and his mom are all thats left. I am willing to meet in c-burg, radford, dublin, and pulaski anywhere else im asking a $5 rehoming fee just for the gas cost.
