Great job on getting sober and putting down the cancer sticks. Its takes alot of will power to do that. Alot of people have problems dealing with their personal demons and selfdestructive habits. I just returned from a non-scheduled trip to San Jose, Ca due to a friend that just could not fight his personal demon. He was my best friend ever and I knew him for 15 years. He kept messing with meth on and off for years and in the last five years and done really good. I kept warning and telling him to walk away from it years ago and that it would kill him. I thought he had cleared that hurtle and then I got a call at 2:15 am saying that he had come home from L.A with his 14 year old son who had come to live with him and his wife, 4 yr. and 8 month old sons. While in L.A he had went and seen an old running buddie who apparently gave him some meth. Upon returning home he ingested some with some hotdogs and coolaide. Not wanting to get caught smoking I guess. He went and sat on the back porch with his 8 month old son in his arms and five minutes later , his eyes rolled back in his head and he took his last breath and was gone. Needless to say, his demon finally got the best of him and now he left his wife and kids, family and friends behind wondering why? Its a bitch when something takes hold of a pesons life like that! I miss our talks on the phone and the steaks on the grill we use to have. So I applaud you for your strength and keep up the good work. R.I.P Jim.....missed but not forgotten.

Loving Life (Bloomington)

About 10years ago I was drinking heavily,smoking. And just not taking care of myself.. It took some time but I did re-learn how to live without drinking and smoking. I am now feeling good about myself. And I am very much happy with the person that I am. There were just a few people who helped my on my journey to being sober. Hell I didnt even know how to sleep without being drunk. I had to learn all the basic things again and fill the time with something other than drinking. In fact I am still learning. Its been a long road and I am happy to be on it. Have a Happy Holiday to everyone. Live it like it is your last. Make sure you let everyone what they mean to you.

okay....so people have been writing bad things about me and all i wanted to get on here and rant like normal people do. I'm not saying I wasn't responsible and did I say that in the main post??!!! I'm just simply stating that someone hit my dog...what would you do if someone hit your dog and you wanted to bitch and let it be known?? I miss my dog and I won't find another one like her. She is getting taken care of at the humane society and is doing well..I can afford a dog, all my bills are paid , matter of fact BEFORE they're due, and I WORK AND DON'T LIVE OFF THE STATE, SINGLE MOTHER ALSO BTW!!!! I just couldn't afford a $1500 bill for a broken leg on a dog, I had spent hours on the phone looking for vets that would take payments or animal hospitals that would take payments, not like I didn't try to get her help, and hey atleast I took her someone where she was going to get help and treatment like she needed rather than dropping her off into a field like some damn people do out there!!!!! I understand the thought of me not being able to afford her, the dog getting hit was my last of my thoughts, MY BAD, but me being a single mother felt more protected having a dog at my house. I guess thats just me being selfish? If I had my choice I would rather her be at home getting the love and attention she is used to, shes not used to being in a kennel unless I wasn't at the house or in trouble, even then the kennel door stayed open....And btw, I doubt that the car had any damage, she wasn't a big dog, shes a puppy! This isn't something that I wanted or thought about happenening because she hated the main street, it was the first and ONLY time she ran into the street... I would let her out back to go to the bathroom and she was GREAT at coming back to the door as soon as she was done. So It can happen to anyone...JUST like anyone else it wasn't like I was planning on her to get hit. So please, Stop posting mean things when you don't know me or my family!! Its over with, done, stop posting things about it!! Shes "Nova" at the Humane Society so if you know anyone wanting to adopt her feel free to let whoever know, shes a great dog, if I can't get her back then I would like for her to go to a good home. Shut the fuck up already and leave these poor ignorant people alone. I'm sure they get the point that they shouldnt have let the dog out or Owned one they couldnt afford to take to the vet. But Its been weeks and nobodys had something else to rave about?!?!?! How about all the people that buy dogs on craigslist to sell them to horrble testing facilities. Or these puppy mills that keep producing dogs like they are shoes or some other material object?? Or all the dogs that sit in shelters day after day after day?? I much rather have somebody who may only be able to give a dog love and food then see them sit and rot in a cage. I've personaly witnessed what something like that can do to an animal and I think that everybody should be able to enjoy a life with a pet and it should not be something only rich people are socially accepted to do. I personally have two dogs and they both eat well everyday and get their regular shots and such but if one of them ever got struck with cancer or a car I might have to make a sad choice between them and my familys finances.......give em a break and look at the bigger picture.

First off, I would have to agree with the people who inquire, what was the dog doing in the road? Maybe if you couldn't afford a dog you shouldn't have one. and then you must wonder, if you couldn't afford the dog, can you afford to fix the car that the dog ran out in front of? Maybe your lucky they didn't stop. If it were my car I would have stopped and had a police report done and stuck you with the repair bills. I am a dog owner and understand your sadness but in reality it is your fault the dog got hit, not the person legally operating their vehicle on the roadway.

This all started about a week ago when my vehicle was in need of some repairs. I first took it to Kellys automotive in Bloomington. I quickly put a stop to the repairs there after the owner called to tell me that he could fix the truck for $600.00 or I could get the reccommended deluxe fix for $1300.00. In my 40years I never knew that there were different degrees of fixing things. I always just tought they were fixed or not fixed. I then still needed to get the tires replaced so that I could get the truck to someone else to fix it. I then took it to Neal Tire and Auto Service. They had the best prices that I found and were very friendly. So after the repairs that I had at Kellys and the tires I took it back to Neal Tire to get the front end aligned still the best price. And when I was there they let me use their car, So that I wouldnt have to sit and wait. So when I went to pick the truck up the Man asked me how much gas I had put in their car and he then said that he was going to take that off of my bill. So they let me use their car and they paid for my gas. Now that is service. They also never tried to scam me because I am a woman and I understood everything that they said to me because they spoke english. I would SO reccommend them to anyone.

Much better to see girls grind to shit music, than listen to Metallica. Make your money, make a profit, end the party early, kick out the loosers, save back a half keg, let your friends know to leave and come back for some serious partying, keep the girls, or guys you're interested in, then start playing music you all like and chill. Remember, it's all to make money and get LAID!

His posting was not about anger and what happens. Reread it. It was the lack of respect his younger brother had for him. I have brothers msyelf and we fight sometimes. But even when we are most angry at each other, both would agree spitting in your brother's face crosses THE line. That is a concsience choice. I'm sure the poster fought before with his brother and that hasnt happened. THis was the first time, it set him off.

Also the younger brother has the same interests as the older one. He said that. He also said that the younger's way would make a lame party. The older one is concerned even when extremely angry about his younger's well being. And if the older is a senior and has learned what's makes a great party and next year all the people coming over are the older's friends, then a crappy party hosted by a jerk reflects negatively on the older.

I'm 22, soon to be 23. I go to ISU. This is my last semester.

Last year, I lived with a guy. After a couple of weeks, we got down a good formula for a good party.

Good tunes that people who came over like, not necessarily music we liked. Beer and jungle juice. We offered the juice for girls and people with wheat allergies so they can get drunk and have fun too. We realized that if the girls were happy, guys would be happy. Get girls over, guys come too. Make it fun, people invite others over. So you get a core group then 20-90 people who might stop by, old and new faces.

Now I live with my brother. Younger. He wants to play only hard rock and offer only beer. He also has a temper problem, so when he drinks and loses beer pong or card games he punches holes in the wall. Ok for Halloween I'll grant him that the Metallica and Mike Myers theme worked. But girls want to dance. Can you grind to Ride the Lightening by Metallica? He says we waste money by offering the juice. But most of my parties are 65% girls. Their money pays for the keg, not the guys drinking.

Okay, yes girls drink beer. But they want juice, a stronger good tasting drink that gets the job done. They dont want to drink beer. If they get drunk, then yeah okay they can make the switch. But for the most part they want vodka and juice mix. I dont like Baby Huey "Pop Lock Drop It." I dont like Pitbull. But i put them and Spears on my ipod because that's what the guests want.

Yeah you can have your small parties with hard rock blaring. But if you want a party 25-55 people, all laughing and feeling good and who can all drink you cater to what they want. Dont be a push over but offer jungle, play Pitbull. Keep your temper.

If you dont want parties at your place then dont follow this formula. But if he wants my friends to come over here next year when I'm gone you got to do it. That first year I played hard rock, had just beer, and got angry. When I cooled off, had juice, and played pop music more people came. I made money. I had a good time. Made friends. If it's not broke, dont fix it.

What does my brother do tonight? We argue, he starts throwing ranch dressing at the walls. SPITS IN MY FACE. I tell him to go F himself, he jumps me throwing punches. HELL YEAH, I was angry. IS he stronger, yes. But I have been in more fights, unless he really connected it would be an even fight. HE's punching kicking, I tie up his arms. I want to break his f***ing neck because he's a little B**** who want to argue then not hear the other side. But I dont throw punches because he's my brother. I get punched but tie him up. Then he keeps yelling at me when we break to shut up or he'll hit me again. I go to my room and cool off. He stays out there staying angry.

I could be wrong. But he says he wants parties. He says he wants a good time. Then why mess with a system that in 3 months found me 40 new people who like coming to my place. He sees his friends offer kegs only and have girls over. He forgets that those parties the girls really know the guys hosting. He doesnt know many here. Everyone over are my firends. He inherits my connections. But if he does what he says he will, it'll fall apart real quick next year. And it will be a waste.

And you know in a few days he'll try to apologize. Say he was drunk. But you know what. I'm tired of his shit. Punched 4 big holes in the wall, kicked another. Gets in my face. SPAT IN MY FACE. Not this time little Bro. The fight I can forgive. But you looked me in the eye and spat in my face. That I will not forgive for a long time.

Do I know what I'm talking about, can I make a case? He syas I'm flat wrong. Hm, the senior is wrong and the sophmore is correct when hosting aprties, MR. Just Turned 21. Am I wrong? Totally? Or do I have a point, maybe some?

I love my Dog (3.14mpTown)

I have the best dog ever! he is short, and furry, he is American, like me (being a mut). He has run of the house because 1st, he is house trained, and 2nd I didn't get a "cool" breed, I got one that fit my household, and lifestyle. He is smart, when you go to the door for a walk he grabs his leash off the floor and holds it up to us. He scratches at the glass back door to go out (in his large fenced yard, I do keep a padlock on the gate so no one forgets and leaves it open not thinking about the dog). He sleeps with the kids if he put him in their bed, otherwise he is up with us. He is healthy because I take him to the vet, I provide heart worm medication, and flea and tick medication. He wags his tail when you call him "THE BEST DOG EVER, EVER YES HE IS!!" He eats Science Diet, and Never any table scraps. Right now he is on the desk chair next to me, snoozing with the cat.

Nowhere in the original post is reckless driving mentioned, and nowhere in my post did I accuse the owner of hating their dog. I satirically implied that they were careless about letting the dog get out, as it seems you are. A baby gate to hold a dog in? It's called a baby gate for a reason. It sounds like you were lucky not to be hauling your pet to the gas chamber.

Listen, it's not a good thing anytime someone loses something they love. But you must be naive to believe that Craigslist Rants is the proper forum to air those greviences. If it is put out there, particularly as it was in the original post, then be prepared to have it dissected, austistic kid or not. And if you don't like it, I guess you just make up a bunch of exagerations, then expose yourself as a poor owner of a dog, like you did!

I'm sorry for your loss, I understand the cost of vet bills- do I get the dog help or pay for groceries, rent and electricity. Having a pet shouldnt be a statis symbol for upper middle class and above, many of us do have pets, and cannnot afford emergency treatment. Now , after that said, there is help for animals for those of us that cannot afford emergency care. www.imom.org , humane society and other agencies. I can't beleive the vet didnt give you options. If it was my pet, and I couldnt afford it, I sure as hell woulda bounced a check, put it on a credit card I cant pay, or made some other kinda deal. As far as the driver NOT stopping ?? In this day and age, would you stop? Who knows what woulda happened. I'm sure the driver feels bad, but not worth getting his ass kicked or worse. You couldnt afford to help your dog, maybe the driver couldnt afford to help either. If you hit a dog, would have you stopped? You cant pay for help for your own dog, would you have paid for anothers vet bill ?

First, to the owner of this dog, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Now, to the moron who claims this person hated their dog, which resulted in its tragic death due to reckless driving-- have you EVER owned a dog? The basic cost of owning one (~$400/year) is vastly different from surprise emergency vet bills (THOUSANDS). Secondly, it's highly possible, even likely, that a dog could escape the house wanting to play or chase that squirrel it saw out the window and end up in the street. I have two dogs, and on Halloween, both got out while trying to "greet" trick-or-treaters because they're friendly dogs. I obey leash laws, I have a fenced-in yard, I'd even put them in a different room while dealing with the Halloween rush of kids. Still, they managed to knock over a baby gate and get out. I'm lucky they chose not to go any further than the front steps.

If some poor family loses a cherished pet, don't be an idiot. There are plenty of them allowed to drive, and we don't need any more.

Here's how I would explain it:

Our little doggy is gone because Mommy and Daddy disregarded leash laws, and we didn't bother to provide an enclosure that the dog couldn't escape from. When the dog was hurt, we couldn't afford to the vet bill, so we disposed of it, meaning we really couldn't afford to have a dog in the first place. But don't worry, sweety, as a family we'll generate tons of negative energy hating a faceless stranger that didn't stop and pay for our negligience. Of course, the Karma we believe in only comes around goes around for others, as we haven't gotten everything we deserve, for we certainly don't deserve to see things as they are.

Next time buy a goldfish. And don't let it out.

Just wanting to rant about the person who hit our sweet dog Halloween night on south center street, and didn't bother to stop!!! thanks to you I had to take her to the humaine society with a badly broken leg because I could not afford to take care of her. I wish I knew who you were so YOU could explain to both my sons (one being autistic) why we don't have Keona anymore...she was such a loving dog and now we don't have her anymore..but I believe in karma and it will come back to you and it won't be pretty!!

I know of one other gay bar in bloomington i believe, it is called the shark bar. I do not know its exact whereabouts but I know forsure its a gay bar. There is also c-street in Champaign which is about 40 mins from here.

RANT: Job Hunting (Bloomington)

I am losing my job soon...it sucks. Even worse, looking for a job in this economy sucks. I know there are a lot of people out there in the same place as me...you have my sympathies. If you have a job, don't take it for granted...you are lucky. This rant is about two things.

1. 1 - If I get one more call from Primerica - A Division of Citi-Corp, I am going to scream. I did not apply for your job...you saw my resume on-line and decided to call me...8 times. "This is person X calling for (me) from Primerica, and Division of Citi-Corp, and we were wondering if you are keeping your career options open as we are expanding in your area." My career options do not include your stupid Multi-Level Marketing insurance sale pyramid scheme crap. How is it that the last time I was looking for a job over 7 years ago, I was getting the exact same calls...are you still expanding? Really? I feel bad for people that actually waste their valuable job-hunting time actually going to this crap. If you don't know, unemployment is frightening...and you are feeding on people in a really bad spot with your false promises and selfishness. I have a son to feed and a house payment to make, I need insurance for both of us, I do not need to hear you call me 1,000 times. I might lose my house, I might not be able to pay the bills, I do not want to deal with your scam, I have better things to do like pack and sell stuff on CL to make money for next month's house payment.

1. 2 - Although to a lesser extent, I am annoyed with all the contract work. I am a very good employee and a skilled worker. I have a college degree, I never call in sick and I have not taken vacation time in over 5 years. Basically, I am awesome. Why do companies think they can employ skilled labor at $12.00 an hour with no benefits for a 6 month or 12 month period of time. If you look at health insurance, that probably means you want me to work for about $8.00 an hour. Do you think people are going to jump at the chance to work for that? You can make more money at McDonald's...I may be working there soon...atleast they actually hire their employees and probably treat you well if you work your ass off. No, I will not run your help desk for your software upgrade for your client for the same I could flip burgers for...if you want to contract skilled employees, expect to pay them well...more than they can find elsewhere, because they have to give up a lot to be a contractor.

Sorry, that is all for this rant. Anyone hiring? I doubt it, but why not ask!
