This is a VERY RARE, 1988 RETIRED, 20" "VICTORIAN LADY" Sculpture Figurine by AUSTIN PRODS.

Alice Heath Riordan has been one of Austins primary sculptors for over two decades. Her range of subject matter and the moods they convey are extensive.

From the sensitivity and emotion in her mother and child sculptures to the elegance of her figure studies, Alices sculptures are instantly recognizable.

Alices education as a figurative artist focused on anatomy and portraiture which included drawing, painting and sculpting from live models. She has been the recipient of many awards including: Allied Artists of America Chaim Gross Foundation award, the Joel Meisner award from the Pen and Brush Club of New York City and the Philip Isenberg award from the American Artists Professional League, NY; First Award National Art League; and Honorable Mention from the Nassau County Celebration of the Arts, New York. She has studied with many prominent artists in the New York area and continues to collaborate with her peers.

Alice makes figurative sculpture that is both personal and universal. Her attention to detail allows her to create sculptures that are both beautiful and poetic; conveying feeling with every nuance and connecting on multiple levels. Of her own artistic development, Riordan states "I look at and study all the artists I admire and learn from them. In my own style and in my own way, I strive to communicate an emotion, hoping to move the viewer in some way. The greatest thrill is to know that my sculpture is part of someones home and life."

Never have I seen such splendour. In my time I have been enthraled by the wondrous sky dancers, resplendent with many adornments, their iridescence glinting, before my very eyes, upon the suns rays, surely a most dazzling display. Yet, my quests have taken my very soul to many wondrous and dangerous places, but to the honoured few that have travelled many days to see the natural hues of “Khahluta” this is a sight that remains with me most clearly.

At least 20 krills breadth, a wingspan of such magnitude, carries the dragon high above the Krelven Forest, dancing upon the warm endotherms, its mighty hide covered with a multitude of seemingly clear scales (I know of this as I had climbed atop many a tree to collect the few that had vecome trapped on its flying swoops above the tree tops) of which I can only describe as having the bright dancing colours similar to the wings of a dopeller fly, which glistened and shimmered as the sunlight danced upon its surface.

I believe that I had knowingly stumbled into a mating ritual as the bright orange underbelly returns to a more sombre blue/grey once a mate has been found.

Khahluta, a truly magnificent beast.

Old Farm,Ranch,Trapping Tools (Meridian) $30

We had a western themed guest room just done over and need to get rid of the sharp stuff. Everything was found locally. 2 of the hay bale hooks have wood handles The traps do work but we left them closed. The sheep sheers have a nice patina. All 7 pieces go together, I'm not interested selling separately. Antique shops get good money and everything is in great shape.
