WHAT IS THE HUNTINGTON LEARNING CENTER?
We are professional educators offering remedial and enrichment instruction in phonics, reading, study skills, writing, math, language arts and related areas. We also prepare students for standardized exams, such as the SAT and ACT exams. We improve students' skills so they do better in school.
With more than 30 years of experience and over 300 centers from coast to coast, we are the oldest national learning center company in the country. We are the recognized learning center expert offering supplemental education to our nation's schools.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BEING A PART-TIME TEACHER AT HUNTINGTON?
Our teachers work on an individual or one-to-one basis, thereby helping students achieve tremendous progress in a relatively short period of time. As our students improve skills, they improve their confidence and motivation. They find that learning can be fun, and that they can do better in school.
The benefits of being a part-time Huntington teacher include:
Training: We offer continual training that even experienced teachers appreciate. Huntington skills and techniques can be transferred to your classroom, as well as to home for use with your own children. Become a more effective teacher as you enhance your present skills and develop new ones.
Students: Work with a variety of students on a one-to-one basis. As you track students daily progress, you will see marked improvement in their skills, confidence, and motivation. Since full-time staff conduct all parent discussions, you have no interaction with parents.
No outside work: With no homework to correct or lesson plans to develop, you just walk into the Center and begin teaching. Everything is ready for you.
Year-round flexible hours: Our after-school and summer hours adapt to your changing schedule. Since no preparation is needed beforehand, it's an ideal after-school job that's even better than tutoring on your own.
Great experience: Whether this is your first job, or you're returning to work after an extended absence, teaching at Huntington is an excellent way to ease into the teaching profession and develop a reference that future employers respect. This opportunity offers experiences that are not available in the classroom.
The Huntington Team: At Huntington, there is a positive and supportive environment where everyone is part of a professional team.
Of course, the most important benefit is that you can make a difference in a student's life.
We are looking for certified elementary teachers to work with students in Kindergarten through 3rd grade in our after-school program. Please send your resume and a cover letter to overland.hlc@gmail.com.

HappyFeet is such a blast for kids! We use stories, songs, and games to enhance balance, coordination, and self-concept (and of course, soccer skills!). Kids get a kick out of the program and it is a wonderful opportunity for them in so many ways. When kids enroll in HappyFeet, they get the awesome experience of learning at an early age that they can do anything they set their mind to. HappyFeet is the perfect way to encourage kids to learn to try anything and not be afraid of failure! Their self-confidence soars as they learn to be proud of themselves and their accomplishments. The ability to imagine takes off around 2 years of age, so HappyFeet’s curriculum takes full advantage of that newly developing skill. Walking the bobcats to the zoo, pretending to be Hiawatha the Dribbling Indian, and jumping up to “be a star” are a few examples of the ways imaginations are put to great use!! Balance and coordination also amazingly improve through mastering the foot-eye coordination involved in controlling a ball at their feet while singing songs or enacting Hiawatha’s wake-up routine. Kids, parents, and school directors a like love HappyFeet!
Pay Scale
HappyFeet coaches are paid on the following scale:
$7/class for any school that you coach two back-to-back 30-minute classes
$10/class at any school that you only coach one 30-minute class
$24 for each PPU/Demo.
Responsibilities of a HappyFeet Coach
1. Coach HappyFeet Classes
a. The coach will drive to schools around the metro Boise City area to coach HappyFeet classes following the HappyFeet curriculum. They will arrive to each location at least 5 minutes early to greet the director, check the tuition box for payments and new registrations, and gather the kids for class according to the school roster.
2. Coach Parent Pick Up/Demos (PPU/Demos)
a. PPU/Demos occur at each of our schools once every three months. These are scheduled from 4:30-6pm Monday through Thursday. A coach takes all 2-5 year olds at a school for a 15 minute free HappyFeet demo while a “promoter” stands near the front door to greet parents, pass out flyers and coupons, and talk about the program. These are a vital aspect of the HappyFeet company as they lead to tremendous growth at schools.
