Many thanks to all who responded to my post. My wife has been being treated for about 7 years now and is on meds. We have tried many differnt ones, and as many of you know, had to be changed from time to time.
I am sad to hear so many people tell me there was no support groups around, so after talking with her I am posting to see if people would be interested in forming one. I am in the Nampa area, and was wondering if I put one together would people come., and how often should they be held.
If you are interested, or have any advice please let me know. My hope is if the group is helpful it would grow to maybe include a seperate group for those who live and love someone with bipolar as well.

The other side of 50 (Boise)
So, at 50, I find myself scared most of the time. I have taken care of others most of my life and now my hours have been cut at a job that I don't like, but am grateful to have. I wonder if I am going to be able to make the rent on my apartment, buy groceries I am scared that I won't be able to get the food my dog and cat need. I am scared i won't be able to keep up on my bills, and especially scared that I no longer have a savings account. I don't tell anyone, I just get up and go to work. check on my folks, and worry. Worry all the time. Because with the economy as it is, so much is uncertain. What is certain is that I am not a young woman any longer. The job competition is great I just don't stack up any longer. I am alone, so there is nobody to help me. I am ashamed to admit that I am so scared. I would never tell anyone. I just keep keeping on. But I thought I would post these thoughts and feelings and see if there are others out there in the same boat. And if there are, how are you keeping your head above water? I have never been this old, this broke and this worried. I have never not had food in cupboards or meat in my freezer.

I am trying to start a support group for Moms or Dads who are struggling with a child who has "colic", GERD, high needs or just super fussy. My 5 week old has been diagnosed with "colic" and stays up from 8 PM to 3 or 4 AM just crying uncontrollably and in so much pain...I think it would be nice to share frustrations, ideas etc. with other parents who are going through the same thing. We are going to local bars and clubs with custom logo'd glasses made from wine and spirit bottles.
For starters, well be at Shorty's Saloon tonight ( friday the 23rd )
then tomorrow night at Whiskey River in Nampa
Volunteers are needed for starting and maintaining groups in places such as Yahoo, Google, Twitter, Face Book
Also to go to the tour locations and help sell the glasses.
We sell them for $10 and people who buy them get $1 off all drinks all night (or whatever the special may be)
You would be helping women get an opportunity to make a good life for themselves and be helping to keep glass out of the landfill.
