Neutered Blk lab/chow mix, great dog needs new home (Weiser)

Sam is an approx. 4 year old neutered black lab/chow mix. He is up-to-date on his shots. He is a friendly, smart, well mannered dog that loves to ride in a pickup. He is medium size - about 40-50 lbs and medium energy (not hyper but not a slug either). He was taken in for a relative that moved and could not take the dog. He is not making a very good farm dog because he tends to wander. He would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard. He gets along well with the other farm dog that is the alpha. He submits to him and does not fight. He has been kept as an outside dog while on the farm, but has a nice warm place to sleep (with a couch to lay on) in one of the heated out buildings. It is not known if he is housebroke, but he does not relieve himself in the out building. He may have been a house dog with his previous owner. He is very smart so he should be very easy to train. If you can provide a good loving home where he will get lots of attention and have a fenced yard where he can play, this is the guy for you. He will make a wonderful loyal companion and a great family dog.

Quaker Parakeet (Nampa)

I have a female Quaker Parakeet that i am re-homing. I rescued her from a home where she had been badly neglected.
She had been kept in a small finch cage with another quaker, the where never given toys or a cuttle bone, or a proper
diet. Her leg was broke at one point in time, and they didnt bother to take her to a vet, so it healed sideways. She is
verry teritorial of her cage, it is hard to get her out of it because she will nip at you, but once you get her out she is
better. SHE DOES BITE! She will bite you if she does not trust you, but once you earn her trust she can be very sweet
but will get angry if you dont give her the attention she deserves. I have school and work, so i do not get to spend
as much time with her as she deserves. I will only let her go to someone who has had medium sized to large parrots
before, i want someone who will be willing to buy her good food, not the walmart bargain stuff, she needs a large
cage too, i wont let her be stuck in a little dinky one, there are plenty of cages for sale on craigslist if you need one.
If you would like to meet her, i would prefer to bring her to you so that i can see what sort of environment you have

6.5 month old German Shepherd (Caldwell, ID)

I have a 6 and a half month old female German Shepherd I need to re-home, I rescued her from a shelter a few months ago and she is just not working out I need to find a more suitable home for her. She is still having issues with potty training, she goes outside to pee, and despite how ever long you leave her out there she will hold it in until you bring her back in the house to poop. She is a beautiful dog and very calm and relaxed for a puppy she is just about done teething and I haven't had any issues with chewing ( just make sure she has a rawhide, or something that is O.K. to chew on) She isn't much of a barker, just wants to cuddle in your lap. She doesn't really like cats so it would be best if she went to a home with none, she likes to chase them I think it's more playful then chasing to hurt them, but she is much bigger then them and could harm them if not watched. She loves to play with other dogs, but what puppy doesn't? She is great with kids and loves my 4 year old daughter to death, she has been well socialized and overall a good dog, she just isn't the right fit for our family. I am asking the same re-homing fee that I adopted her for which was $150.00, After adoption I had her spayed and vaccinated so you are actually getting her for less then I ended up paying for her. Looking for a new home-Shiffon (SW Boise)

We recently got this puppy and found out after that we were not approved by the landlord for a second pet at our rental. She is very sweet and entertaining. She is a designer mix of a mini shih tzu and brussels griffon. She weighs 3 lbs now and should not get bigger than 7 lbs based on what we have researched of the two breeds. We have taken her to the vet once where she received her 4th set of shots and is due for her last puppy shots around Dec 10th. Vet recommended that she be spayed around 7 months due to her small size. She is about 14 weeks old. Also we have another dog, which is large and she does really good with her. The other owns we got her from had a cat and said she played good with it. We have been using an indoor crate with her for when we are asleep and at work and she does great. She is potty trained and walks good on a leash and loves car rides and going to the pet store. She would make a great companion for someone or a family. The tale of Rocky/Clooney the white boxer (nampa)

This is to the people who previously owned "rocky" AKA "clooney" (as called by the canyon county animal shelter).

First off I just wanted to congratulate you on the life lessons you have taught your teenage boy. Animals are disposable and its okay to abandon them in person and lie to county officials, kudos.

Secondly I want to let you know that he will get a far better home than you could obviously provide the poor dog and the 4 year old female you raised that you took to the shelter in person and told them they were strays. The female was euthanized and Rocky almost met the same fate. Great life for a year old dog, I could only hope that you are shown the same kindness when you are in need......


He was so skinny when we rescued him that he had no energy to do anything except sleep on the bed. He is coming into his energy and putting on weight, we also noticed the scars all over him, since we dont know how they got there we can only speculate that the puppy received the best of attention from either your negligence or the "sweet" nature of your other dog. He will take time to heal emotionally as well. Im not sure what you did, or did not do for him but you did not deserve to have an animal that has such a sweet nature. I hope that you do not ever get any other pets, or if you do, they have the sense to run the hell away. I am really surprised that an educated individual such as you, Mr. Owner, would allow this type of thing to go on in your own house, and you teach college kids?? Im glad I never had any instructors like you. Your total lack of respect and your utter disregard that this was a creature that relied on you not only to feed and house him, but to provide him with mental stimulation and instruction, totally disgusts me and your attitude was so flippant about it, and you actually had the nerve to ask if you could see him?!! REALLY?! Yes you can come see him Mr. Abusive former owner, of course I will let you see an animal that lived with you for most of his life and although that life was not valued and probably had quite a bit of pain in it, the puppy still misses you and loved you without question. He looks for his people and is sad, of course I will let you see him so that he can miss you even more............you ARE heartless. There are so many more things I would love to say to you, but truthfully you do not deserve the time that it is even taking me to write this, but I just thought you should know that at least he was rescued by someone that gives a damn about him, even if he is just a dog.

And to the son: having an adult treat an animal this way is one thing, but for you to treat him that way is quite another. You raised both those dogs, he obviously slept on someone's bed every night and I am willing to bet it was yours. How could you abandon him that way? How could you so confidently take that animal to a kill shelter not knowing if he was going to get a home? Did you assume that someone would take him, or just assume that they would keep him indefinately? It costs the county money to feed and house all the dogs that get thrown away by kind hearted people like you. Fortunately for Rocky(which I am also pretty sure you named him yourself), someone on Craigslist was paying attention and as a last ditch effort put an ad on that we saw. It cost the shelter money to take care of him and cost us money to get him out. That stuff is not free and I hope that out of all this you take away at least one small iota of knowledge. Your sudden actions have a greater ripple effect than you could possibly calculate. Forces beyond your comprehension are always in play, even for something that seems so trivial and insignificant as getting rid of a couple dogs. It took at least 10 people to rescue this animal and close to a dozen more to take care of him. So far that is almost 2 dozen people affected by your action. I would not be proud of that fact either, think of how the volunteer felt when they euthanized the female and how they would have felt euthanizing Rocky.

Everyone at the shelter loved him and all of them had to say goodbye when he left, I hope that you are happy with your ripple knowing that you are responsible for the death of one dog and almost the other.

Little Gray Kitten (Meridian)

If you want a cute, sweet, neutered male kitten, you may want to meet this little guy. He is such a love! He and his siblings were homeless (hanging out in a busy business area), so I grabbed 3 of them and adopted them out after being fixed. This little squirt kept running from me. I finally trapped him and had him neutered. I forgot to tell them he would be tamed and they notched one of his ears like they do fixed feral cats. Anyway, Vinnie is his name (after Vincent Van Gogh). This evening he purred in my lap for 30 minutes.

Vinnie is fixed, vaccinated, and dewormed. I am asking for a small donation of $25 to the Idaho Humane Society to help a low income person have their cat spayed or neutered. Oh, Vinnie is about 11 weeks old. Email is the best way to reach me or you can call 891-4008.

2 Free Male Cats for Your Mouse Chasing (Caldwell)

We adopted two male, fixed gray and white cats in 08/07. We have fed and watered them, housed them in the garage at night and got attached to them. We are forced to move out of state and can't take them with us. Socks (fluffy one) and Fluffy eat, sleep, hunt and hang out together all day and night. Due to our financial situation, we are moving out of state and need to find a home where someone will feed and water them daily and bring them out of the cold at night for shelter (especially during these cold winter nights). They hunt on our 1-1/2 acres and are away most of the day, but if you call them with a really high, loud pitch, they come running into sleep for the night. Socks LOVES attention and will come into the house to visit and purr at you. He's the nicest cat I've ever known. Fluffy will come around, but is scared of you. If you meow at Fluffy, he will meow back. Once in a blue moon you can touch Fluffy and he likes it but he's always scared and kind of runs out of your way. They get mice all the time. If you can provide the above, we would be glad to let you have them. We can't take them out of state because we're now moving into a rented apartment. Hello! I would like to help you with pet sitting, dog walking, and anything else you need to keep your pets happy this winter!
