Still Looking for Chewy, Male Rat Terrier (Hamptonville, NC)

Gone missing Aug. 31, but we are still holding out hope that he is alive and well somewhere. Very friendly and playful male Rat Terrier. Some people think he's a Jack Russell, but he is a Rat Terrier. Very cute dog with easily identifiable protruding hernia on stomach. No mistaking him. If you've seen our beloved little friend, please contact us asap. We're worried and missing him and will pay a reward with no questions asked. Last seen in Yadkin County but may have been taken in and given away and/or transported elsewhere. Tan and white, about half and half. Pointed ears and tail with white tip. See picture. We're heading east to either Greensboro or Raleigh. Raleigh is closer to where I need to go but Greensboro will suffice. 5 year old female Catahoula/Lab mix-free to good home (Boone)

Looking to place my 5 year old Catahoula Leopard/Lab mix into a new home. Just moved to Boone recently and my work schedule makes for an unhappy dog. She's about 5 years old, in great health (maybe a little on the pudgy side), 85 pounds, up-to-date on all shots, and is extremely friendly and intelligent. Knows "sit" and "lay down" commands. She is mostly black with gray and white patches on her coat and has crystal blue eyes.

As stated above, my job requires me to work long and crazy hours and that makes it difficult to have a dog. She does great with cats but not other dogs. She needs to be placed with someone who is home a lot, who has small children (she loves kids) and preferably with a fenced-in backyard. I will NOT adopt her out to college students. My dog and I have moved three times in the last 6 months, and she needs stability.

In 1987 a supernova (death of a star) exploded bombarding our planet for several minutes with a deluge of subatomic information with its dying breath. When it actually reached us, everybody on this planet received three times as many Neutrinos (prana) as normal. Around the same time on a Mediterranean island called Ibiza a man had a deep shock experience on January 3 of that year. This mystical experience lasted eight days and eight nights. He was given immensely detailed descriptions of how our universe functions, and out of this he was given the Human Design system.

What does it mean to live my design? It is actually a very simple thing. It is another way of showing a person how to be themselves. From the moment we are born we are conditioned by others to be our not-selves. Human Design is a synthesis. For something to be a true synthesis it must include everything. Human Design contains all systems from all walks of life because it is founded on fundamental genetic principles. Another way to describe Human Design is as a mutation. It is a mutation of consciousness itself, and as such it spreads quickly. It spreads through the living cells of our bodies, even while it enters through our minds. Once we have heard our true genetic strategies, whenever we forget to follow them, this remembrance inside us flares up again, and again, and again, until we get it. Human Design is a way to finally begin to live your true, authentic self. Human Design can lead our planet to peace. Understanding Human Design and Living Your Design assists you in stopping the never ending process of judging yourself and others which is essential to evolution and ascension. Human Design is about showing people their uniqueness and giving them the dignity to be themselves. It is a bridge to living as highly evolved being societies live, something that many of us are striving towards

You will discover how the source of all manipulation and guilt lies within the interplay of the defined and undefined emotional center (Solar Plexus). You will be given tools to decondition and heal this condition which literally creates the chaos of the world in which we live today. You will learn how to use the information in your unique individual chart to live as described above

We will show you how each of the nine centers relates to different parts of the body like the kidneys and prostate glands. You will be given tools and taught strategies to heal and keep all parts of your body healthy by simply living your design.

The animals on this posting are on Death Row at Liberty County Animal Control. We only have very little time, often days, to find them new homes or no kill rescues to save their lives. We have personally interacted with each one of these animals. Our descriptions are straight forward! Our conscience would not allow us to hold anything back, and we would never give false information to save an animal, because it would only result in the animal being returned. You will never find vicious/dangerous animals on our listing! Usually, little or none is known about these animals' medical history. Thanks to micro chips, we do know that many of them are abandoned by military, which means they are most likely up-to-date on there shots,heart worm negative, and generally healthy; however, we cannot guarantee that, which is why each animal must receive prompt veterinary care after adoption/rescue takes place.

Due to this mix of breeds, this gorgeous girl has a very unique color and what is called “ghost brindle.” In the shadows and low light she is black but when the sunlight reflects off her coat she has brindle coloring. It's so awesome to see! Poppy likes other dogs and currently shares her death-row cell with 2 others. Poppy also does not mind the company of kids. She has been tugged and pulled on to see how she reacts and that could be determined is that she is just as friendly and playful as can be! Poppy likes to play fetch and LOVES to give kisses. She appears to be a very healthy dog, judging by her coat, bowel movements, etc. She also does well on a leash.

He is all white, with just one dark spot on the nape of his tail. We believe he is deaf, which is not unusual for white dogs and by far not a reason to euthanize a dog. In fact, Domino already knows a hand signal – SIT! Domino is still very young. We estimate his age around 5-6 months. Due to this, he has all the puppy energy you can imagine. We noticed he does not like water much but one thing that stands out above all is the fact that Domino LOVES little kids!!! Pretty much all of his attention was directed at Leo, the toddler of one of the rescue volunteers, when he was in the exercise field. All Domino wanted to do was be near him and play with him. If Leo left the field he would sit at the gate and whine for him to come back. Domino would be great for a family with kids. He's a sweetheart!

Daycare Playdates Available for a couple Toddlers (Boone)

Hi there!

I am hoping to find a couple families that would maybe want to supplement a couple days of daycare a week with more personal childcare. I am only asking for enough pay to cover food, craft supplies, and a small amount of gas that would be used to go to places like the library, playground, and other adventures we might have. Once we get to know each other better, I may even like to take them on little day trips. The zoo is not too far and there are a million things to see right here in the mountains. ( I have a very clean driving record!) Preferably, the kids would be between 2 and 5. Close to our daughters age.

Our family has been in Boone for 1yr now. Our daughter recently turned 2. I am a homemaker and artist, so I stay home with her during the day. As much as I love playing with her, she needs to be around other kids. We would like her to have a few friends that are more constant than the kids she meets at the playground and library. Our daughter, Emma, is very smart for her age. She loves animals, books, crafts, playgrounds, going for exploration walks and being out in nature. She is very healthy and extremely sweet! She eats an extremely healthy diet. We try to make every experience a learning experience with her.

My Mother-In-Law is an Elementary School Teacher and so is a good friend of mine in Raleigh. I can provide reliable character references. I have also worked in an optometry office with children. Although I am no longer certified, I have had First Aid and CPR training in the past. First and foremost, I am a mom. I know my child very well because I listen to her and pay attention to everything she does. I am willing and able to to that for your child as well.

Please contact me if this sounds like something you might be interested in. In the long run, it may even give us parents a good opportunity to have a night off once in a while by taking turns watching the kids in the evenings.

im just wondering how the watauga co. gov. has gotten so outa touch with the local ppl of watauga co....i have been a builder here for 20 years and i swear to god it just blows my mind at all the non sense i have to go through to keep a roof over my head anymore...i have a GOOD FRIEND who was a county commisinor and will be again if my vote counts and he explained to me the local gov. now are not interested in keeping the local ppl in watauga co....they want the rich n loaded in here so there slowly but surely gona code the locals out. hoping they will sell off to the rich...now they have went n got the watauga co. health dept. involved in everything to further the communist agenda i think there running...oh how sweet they explain all the bs to ya thinking your stupid...WE ARE NOT STUPID WATAUGA CO...AND I BEG EVERY WATAUGA CO. NATIVE WHO IS SICK AND TIRED OF BEING TOLD WHAT YOU CAN AND CANT DO ON THEIR OWN LAND TO PLZZZ FIND OUT WHO ARE BEHIND THESE PLAINLY DUMB AND IGNORANT LAWS AND VOTE THEM OUT OF OFFICE!!!...i will not go into details now on whats going on , but i fear the watauga co. health dept. will be taking food outa my mouth this winter over a ******. you would laugh if i told ya , but when my permits get turned down, ill explain...so if anyone reads this , you may have a garunteed job this winter sitting in a nice warm office, with no worries of paying ur light bill or eating but some of us dont...we pray every nite that god will bless us with work , but its sad that ur own county will starve a man in hard times over something as stupid as.......................................................................like i said if i get turned down ill spill the beans....i just pray god will allow my permits to go through....maybe he will touch the planning and inspections and the health dept. hearts...if not will they feed me this winter???......so funny how the laughed at state next door hasnt robbed its locals of their rights...sad sad sad.i think 2 words explain it well...POWER STARVED...mr ward..plzzzz come back.

this is a follow up to my original post made on Sat Nov 7
I am trying to find a good home for my pet dogs . I have been evicted from the house and the dogs are still on the property until the landlord calls
the pound . I dont why he didnt as he threatened or why he is forbidding me access to the yard to care for them while theyre there . He has threatened to call the sheriff if he sees me yet the dogs are still there , Thankfully . I go there when its dark to check on them and feed them but I need to clean up the yard as i have every day or 2 , 6 days is too much Iguess Ill have to risk being arrested for trespassing and do it today i cant stand for them being in a mess . these dogs need homes immediately . They need mite treatments and thats all I know about them as far as their needs for any medical concerns . they are beautiful good dogs . the 4 babies have been taken by a beautiful pet recuer .

I am a musician in the Athens, OH area looking to find a working band in the mountain country of North Carolina. I have 25 years of road experience, I can sing any part and I am fluent on the upright or acoustic basses as well as the drum kit (I do not pound the hell out of it!). I can hit the mark with an acoustic guitar, trombone and I am currently getting a sousaphone under control. Though I tend towards the acoustic and bluegrass types of music, I can do R&B, funk, dixieland and New Orleans jazz, as well as any variety of rock you might like. Sweet tabby cat to good home (Lenoir)

I rescued this sweet boy from the side of the road in Winston-Salem on Saturday night. He is a beautiful orange tabby cat; my best guess puts him around two months old. I don't know about shots or anything, but I will say that he is well-behaved and litter trained. He was perfectly behaved for the 1.5 hour car ride, content to sit and snuggle with me.

I would love to keep him, but he doesn't get along with my other male cat (they got into a slight tiff). He seems to be timid/frightened around dogs, so he would probably do best in a home where he's either by himself or with another lady cat. I will be happy to send photos to any prospective adopters.

U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx is a visible reminder of the Forrest Gump saying, "Stupid is as stupid does." Foxx has made so many gaffes since her first election to Congress in 2004 that it's more than just mildly embarrassing for North Carolina. It's find-an-island-to-ship-her-to embarrassing. And it's becoming how-can-voters-keep-electing-her embarrassing.

Don't think so? Here's the latest gaffe, which she made Monday.

Speaking on the floor of the U.S. House, Foxx said Americans should fear Democratic health care legislation more than they do terrorists. "We have more to fear from the potential of that bill passing than we do from any terrorist," she said. No, we don't.

That statement follows one in July on the House floor where she charged that pending legislation would "put seniors in a position of being put to death by their government." No, it wouldn't.

That statement follows one in the spring where, during a House floor debate on a hate crimes bill, Foxx labeled the death of Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old gay man who was robbed, beaten and left tied to a fence, "a hoax." She later apologized, saying it was a poor choice of words. What would have been the right choice of words?

The list goes on. One time she fumed that a jobs bill was "teaching our people to work for the government. Shame on us." Foxx seemed to forget she has worked for government agencies all her career, including UNC Chapel Hill, Appalachian State University, Mayland Community College, the N.C. Senate and now Congress. Another time she called Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama socialists, then admitted "I don't know the dictionary definition of socialism." In 2005, she voted against help for Hurricane Katrina victims when even conservative N.C. colleague Patrick McHenry called it necessary.

There's also her hypocrisy. In 2006, Foxx railed against wasteful Democrats all the while securing $550,000 in federal money for a proposed teapot museum in her district. The national Citizens Against Government Waste publicized the grant in its 2006 "Pig Book" of pork barrel waste.

Many of her comments and actions are just partisanship run amok. Earlier this year, 100 fellow lawmakers tagged Foxx and McHenry second and fourth among the most partisan Republicans. But you can be partisan without being absurd.

Last year, Foxx told a Charlotte group visiting Washington, "I am trying to scare you to death," when listing her concerns about Democratic spending in Congress.

Her words and actions should scare voters in her 5th District, which stretches from the Piedmont to the mountains. In 2010, they should take that fear to the polls.
