Large Hanging Flat File - Free! (Groton, MA)
Nice flat file looking for a good home
The item is a very large hanging flat file. It's in very good condition, it just needs a new home.
It's ideal for photographs, maps, posters, files, etc. The complete details on
the item are given below. See pictures below (more can be supplied by request). Note the item has rollers, but
is definitely a first floor or walk-in basement item due to its weight.
Details:
Large hanging file folder from Art Metal Inc, Jamestown NY. Originally owned and
used by an Entomologist at Yale. Placed in storage for 3 to 4 years before I
purchased it. I've had it in my garage for about a year. It was too heavy to
bring bring to the 2nd floor in my house, where I had planned to use it so I'm trying to find it a new home.
Hanging files of different sizes - can be used for maps, legal documents,
blueprints, artwork, posters, maps, etc. Built with solid double-wall
construction and as I was told, is designed to be fire-safe (I cannot confirm
the latter however).
Note this hanging file sold for well over $1000 new.
Hanging Folder Sizes:
(11 slots) -> 44" x 34" (4 slots) -> 44" x 21 1/2" (4 slots) -> 44" x 13
1/2" (may be possible to replace/add files - however I am not sure where they
would be purchased).
Folders included are in nice shape and some extra separators are also included.
Condition:
The file is used but in nice overall condition. Shows general signs of wear but
very presentable overall. A couple of light stains on the top, only very minor
rust on the wheels and perhaps tiny areas near the bottom of the flat file.
Some tiny specs of yellow paint on the back side where someone likely painted
something (yellow) near by. Note the latter is very minor and I didn't notice
it myself for several months.
I'll be happy to send extra pictures if there is any area of the file
that you'd like to see in more detail.
Outside dimensions:
Width = 49 3/16", Depth = 31", Height (not counting wheels) = 38 3/8", Height
(including wheels) = 41 3/4"
Inside Dimensions:
Width = 43 1/4", Depth = 27 1/8", Height = 36 7/8"
Note this an industrial hanging file. It is very sturdy, and such, is very
heavy. I would not recommend using this outside of a walk-in basemant, an
office building, or on the first floor of your house.
The item needs to be picked up in Groton, MA (01450).
Note - I do not have the key for the lock. The file is un-locked and functions
as it would if no lock were present. A locksmith can likely make a key to fit or
replace the lock if desired.
