Safe and Sane Grandpa 55yo (Erie)

Hi...I am a normal 55yo Grandpa/Dad that has been babysitting our grandson since he was 3.5 "months" old. He is now 4.5 years old and goes to preschool MWF at Erie Elementary.
Why am I the babysitter?? We all decided for me to stay home since the income was not a major concern and it was hard to find decent childcare. Know what we mean???
I usually take care of the grandson 3-5 days a week. I can provide a safe and secure home for another, maybe 2 close to the same age children in my home (near Austin and County Line Rd) during the week.
There are no dogs or cats here, only fish (with babies) in a 20gallon tank. Everyone is a non-smoker (Wife works in Arvada - along with our son, the daughter-in-law works in Boulder and the 2 of them live near the firestation).

So there is room for perhaps 2 kids. We have 2 spare bedrooms in case they take naps or they can nap together. We have a 3rd bedroom which is grandson's playroom, grandson never naps...bummer - heck the whole house is his playroom. If a mother needs a room to live with child, we can talk. But this is more about the children. Children must be up-to-date on shots. I can drive the kids to doctors and home (if not to far). Hours would be 7:30am to say...6pm. Depends on your schedule and needs. Babysitting on short term basis/emergency is an option.

I have a 19 month old little girl, who is lovely, curious, and energetic. I am recently disabled with 4 autoimmune disorders and having trouble keeping up with her. As she's growing bigger, I'm getting weaker. It's quite a challenge.

There's nothing to do during the winter break?!?! Sure there is! How about spending hours in the saddle learning all about horses? That is just what happens at Crestone Farms Winter Day Cams! Crestone’s Day Camps are a winning combination of learning, fun, games, and building lasting friendships. No experience necessary.
Day Camp sessions are 5 days long and run Monday thru Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Early drop off and late pick up can be arranged. Camps are open to youth of all riding levels, ages 6 and up. There are varying experience levels for beginning to advanced riders. Learning is fun at Crestone where our patient, friendly instructors teach you everything from saddling, bridling, and grooming to how horses think, what their body language means, and how to ride.

The lessons will typically consist of ring work with emphasis on equitation, forward seat, and basic dressage, and also Western riding. Riding lessons may also involve trail riding, jumping, bareback, or horse games. Campers need to wear cowboy boots, hats and gloves, jeans, and bring a lunch and snack each day. Crestone provides helmets, all materials, horses, and equipment. We do have an indoor riding arena where the camp will be conducted. I am in the process of looking for a job and am looking to set something up so i am ready to start at that time. there are 2 different scenerio's that i am facing depending on what shift i end up getting. please respond including which one you are interested in and i will get back to you. 1. full time days~ would need someone to come to my house around 730 when my husband leaves for work. Get my 6 y/o on the bus( you can see the stop from the garage, and it drives by the house before it gets to her stop), watch my 8 mo old for the day, take my 4 y/o to preschool at erie elementary as well as picking her AND her sister up from school at 330. If i get out of work on time i will call you and you will not have to pick them up from school. The latest you would have to be there is 400pm. pay is 150 for 4 days.


2. part time evenings~ I would need someone to be at my house at 230. You would have to pick up my girls at 330 bring them back to the house and watch them for a few hours till my husband gets home. this would only be 2 nights a week and pays 20 an afternoon. other than picking up from school you would just need to supervise chores, give them a light snack, and help with homework if they need it.

• i also have a 12 y/o he is pretty much independant and doesnt need much supervision. We also have 2 dogs, they do not bite but they are VERY friendly.

• SAHM's are encouraged to apply but you need to be able to fit atleast 2 kids in your vehicle, my 6 y/o could ride the bus home if i found the right person with the wrong car! LOL If you need to bring your little one with you i dont have a problem with that but i prefer just 1 extra child in my house.

I am hoping to attend graduate school in Boulder but am moving here first in order to gain residency. While I graduated with a degree in political science and international studies, I spent two years as an elementary education major and participated in many courses and practicums for this. These included children's literature, child psychology, classroom and behavioral management and many others. Additionally I have worked at YMCA Camp Shadybrook for the past three summers. YMCA Camp Shadybrook is located about 1.5 hours away from Boulder in Sedalia, CO. I spent my first two summers as a cabin counselor for base unit (ages 5-10) and spent the last summer as a unit director for this same age group. I was responsible for creative programming, dealing with homesickness, dealing with behavior issues, leading songs, communicating with parents and basically anything having to do with this age group. At times, I was responsible for the well being of over 80 children. I have also had nanny experience with many families who are willing to provide references for me. Also, I am CPR/First aid certified and have recently passed a background check for the YMCA but I am more than willing to participate in another one for you.
