seeking college student wanting to practice skills (Boulder)

Do you need case studies? Experience for your education? I typically wouldn't be one to just ask for free help but a) I'm on an extreme budget and b) the realization occurred to me that there just might be students studying business, design, etc. who might want to help a new business in exchange for experience. Not you? Simply ignore this. I would only want this temporarily as we grow and do not, I repeat, do not want to undermine talent that's out there. This is just where we're at right now. I'm open to accepting interest from those looking for pay/employment in hopes that I can do so in the near future. I plan on this being a successful venture. It has real potential.

All that said, I could use help with marketing, blogging, Drupal design and functionality, and general business help. Please let me know what would be fair to you and what you're expertise is.

Hand Coded CSS - interactive (Boulder CO, Overseas?)

I'm looking for a competent hand-CSS coder that can help us with some screen layouts. This will be an interactive job - you make some page tweaks, we review, make comments, you make some more tweaks. This will be an hourly gig - this is not a fixed price contract. Expect 10-30 hours of work for this over a couple of days - probably over thanksgiving. Job entails working on a master style sheet for roughly 20 pages and then helping me with the sub-styles on another 5 groupings of those pages. This will take a few days probably to go through the issues. Additional work may be available if you wow us.

The system is a Jquery / AJAX system. I can write CSS, but somebody else can write it faster than me.

If you are not in Colorado or California (or even if you are) you need to have and undertstand:
CSS - hand coding it for placement
Some sort of a graphics tool like Adobe or Gimp - to make things look purty
English
A Yahoo IM ID
Skype Capability (for voice chat)
sftp (secure ftp capability and knowledge on how to use it - since this is how we transfer files)

1) I would like to see an example of your portfolio - show me a site or two that you hand coded the css for
2) What are the various CSS mechanism for controlling width of an element?
3) What is the underlying protocol of SFTP, and what port does it run on?

Dell Vostro 1400 Tech Support (Superior, CO)

I have a two year old, DEll Vostro 1400 which used to work wonderfully for me. Now, it is two years old with some issues and I need to have it cleaned up, repaired, etc WITHOUT losing my data (I could reformat the drive myself if that is what I wanted). Have run a startup repair and system restore to no avail. Do not hear the fan turning on, so maybe that is it (and it killed the motherboard?).

another point.. it costs Developers Time and Money to learn and practice development. It requires electric, computer, software, learning curves, and updates, as well as carpel tunnel syndrome, degrading vision, horrible social life, irate or unreasonable clients, and near reclusion to achieve what most people expect... and no this does not come cheap.. and hats off to those others out there who have achieved this milestone -- it is hard earned.
