For sale: 1 Dell 5160 Laptop. It is a P4, 1.8 gigaherts, 512 meg ram, The shell, keyboard and monitor are in great shape (no cracks). The wireless and CD/DVD work great. I can't get the sound to work, and the back USB plugs don't work BUT I have a PCMCIA card with two USB plugs for USB devices (printers, cameras, iPods, etc) and a USB soundcard for headphones or external speakers.I just loaded Windows XP on it, and applied all of the updates. This computer has a perfect screen, a perfect keyboard, a perfect DVD/CD burner, and a near brand-new battery. There is a small crack on the corner of the plastic case, but unless you are really looking for it, you can't see it. The computer has three USB ports, a multi-card reader, and a DVI port for high speed input of data/movies
The laptop is about 4 pounds, so it is super portable. It comes with Windows 7 Home Premium (I bought the family pack of 3 licenses, and this computer has one of them).
This laptop is well worth the money, and comes complete and ready to go. The price is firm considering the quality and condition.
Here are some excerpts from a PC Magazine article about the Lenovo 3000 V100
Lenovo has launched three notebooks under its own brand: the Lenovo 3000 C100, the N100, and now the newest, the V100, the lightest of the three. With a 12-inch widescreen and an extended 56-Wh six-cell battery, the 4.4-pound V100 is a borderline ultraportable; and at just $1,649 direct, it's one of the more affordable lightweights in this weight class.The full-size keyboard provides one of the best typing experiences money can buy. The V100's prize feature, however, is its built-in DVD dual-layer DVD burner—a luxury in a notebook this small. With it, you won't need to remember to carry around an external optical drive, as you do with the 3.2-pound Gateway E-100M. By comparison, the 3.6-pound HP Compaq nc2400 has a built-in optical drive and weighs less than the V100.
The tiny system also has three USB ports, a FireWire port, and VGA output.
Small businesses will appreciate the bundled management applications such as the Lenovo Care application, which is a toned-down version of the robust and feature-rich ThinkVantage suite. Outfitted with a 2.0-GHz Intel Core Duo T2500 processor—a much faster processor than the ULV (Ultra Low Voltage) Core Solos found on the Gateway and HP ultraportables—the V100 flexed its mobile performance muscle, soundly beating both the E-100M and the nc2400 on my MobileMark and SYSmark benchmark tests. The V100 even manages to hold its own against the venerable Lenovo ThinkPad X60s. Its system RAM is also generous, at 1GB, compared with the 512MB on the Gateway and HP models. I would've been completely sold if the V100 had discrete graphics, but the integrated graphics from Intel should suffice. I was also disappointed with the battery life, which I felt could've been better than the about 4 hours I got. The Gateway and HP have larger batteries that delivered close to 7 hours on my battery drain tests, more appropriate for a laptop that is built to be carried often.
Overall, the Lenovo 3000 V100 is well-suited for small businesses that need a balance of portability and performance and don't want to spend a lot of money. Sure, there are lighter solutions out there, such as the Gateway E-100M and the HP nc2400, but neither match the V100's performance. The pictures below are NOT the actual unit. They look nearly identical... the actual unit is used, not brand new, but is in near-new condition.
