DUTIES:
This is an unarmed law enforcement position (Title 33 Commission) that enforces park laws and regulations; issues citations for violations; patrols park areas by vehicle, bicycle or foot. Responds to emergencies and resolves visitor complaints. Will complete reports and may be required to appear in court. Positions located on water based recreation parks will conduct inspections on boats and other water craft for aquatic nuisance species and will need to take appropriate action upon discovery of such species. Positions may also assist with revenue collection and verification, visitor services operations, education and interpretive programs. Certain parks may have specific lake, river and backcountry duties and requirements. This position will also assist with all areas of daily park operations, Assures quality customer service, facility maintenance, repair and cleanliness, assists with fee collection, accounting and deposits, and environmental education programs.
NOTE:
This position is up to 40 hours per week and up to six months in duration. School schedules MAY be accommodated.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
• Must be free of felony convictions or pending charges. Consideration will be given to all other previous violations of law, including misdemeanor violations, domestic violence, traffic and conservation laws
• Must have or be able to attain valid current First Aid and CPR certifications
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds repeatedly
• Must be able to work various shifts, weekends and holidays
• Applicants must successfully complete a comprehensive background check
• Must attend and successfully complete required Colorado State Park training (may include full exposure to OC spray)
• Arkansas Headwaters Recreation Area requires extensive whitewater experience and proficiency in class IV-V whitewater for some of its ranger positions. Applicants will need to complete a 24 hour swift water rescue class.
• Some parks require prior boating operation and experience for some ranger positions
• Preference may be given to applicants with or working towards a Natural Resources degree or similar education.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• This position will perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. Ability to perceive color differences and to hear verbal and radio communications.

In an Enclosed Vehicle or Equipment — Travel via vehicle, etc is required for this position. Job duties for this position cover various areas of Colorado and require operation of 4 wheel drive vehicles, ATV’s, towing trailers, operating boats, etc.
Freedom to Make Decisions — Decisions are made on a daily basis. Part of the decision-making responsibility is to determine what level is appropriate for each decision and to forward with background information and recommendations those decisions that need supervisory authority.

Temporary Park Ranger (Eldorado Canyon State Park)
TEMPORARY PARK RANGER: Eldorado Canyon State Park is hiring temporary park rangers. Jobs start March 27th and May 1st and last a maximum of six months. The jobs are for forty hours per week and involve working weekends and holidays. Some shifts start as early as 7:00AM, others run as late as 9:30PM. Applicants must posses a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age. The jobs involve physical work (medium to heavy). Pay is $10.00 per hour.

Our Mediation firm is seeking experienced mediation professionals for anticipated upcoming assignments. The majority of assignments will take place in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Atlanta, Phoenix, Houston, Boston, Orlando, Las Vegas, Indianapolis, Seattle, Raleigh, Portland, Denver, Detroit, Kansas City, Memphis, Dallas, Minneapolis, Sacramento, Philadelphia, St. Louis, Pittsburg, Salt Lake City, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego, San Francisco, Nashville, Oklahoma City, Buffalo, Spokane and San Juan. However, we will require mediators throughout the United States, including Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
In particular we are seeking the following individuals:
Individuals with senior Federal sector mediation experience.
Individuals with mediation experience in work related, but non-EEO related experience with a proven high success rate.
You will be an Independent Contractor and will be paid a flat fee per mediation. You must provide your own equipment, including, but not limited to a PC/laptop, computer printer, internet connection, phone and fax. On average, mediation will last approx 3-4 hours. Once you gave accepted a mediation assignment, you will have no more than 8 days in which to contact the complainant and the responsible management official and to have scheduled and completed the mediation.
You will prepare a one-two page report along with a form showing whether mediation ended in an agreement of no agreement. These forms are faxed to the office after the mediation session. If the mediation is successful, you will also be required to draft the mediation agreement for signature by all parties. You will also need to update the web based mediation status reporting tool.
The nature of the mediations are typically disciplinary issues ranging from a Letter of Reprimand to a removal actions. There are also a number of cases involving non-disciplinary actions such as leave restrictions and AWOL charges.
