Who can learn to play the piano?
Any person who has the time and the will to take lessons and to practice. I accept students ages five to adults.
What kind of music will I learn?
I teach mostly Classical music and some Popular music. If the student is interested in any special type of piano music I will try to accommodate it.
How often should I take lessons?
Lessons are given once a week so that you will have enough time to practice.
How long is a lesson?
It depends on the student's age. Students up to age 8 usually have 30-minute lessons. Students ages 8 to 13 usually have 45-minute lessons, and older students have 1-hour lessons.
How long will I have to practice every day?
I recommend practicing at least 5 times a week.
Beginner's level: 15-30 minutes
Intermediate level: 30-60 minutes
Early advanced level: 60-90 minutes
Can I attend my child's lesson?
Absolutely! Parents are always welcome to attend their child's lesson. Parent's support and encouragement is very important, especially for young students.

Saxophonist Neal Postma is currently completing his B.M. in saxophone performance at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was granted a full tuition scholarship.

His most recent appearances include a masterclass with internationally renowned saxophonist and pedagogue Jean-Marie Londeix, a solo performance at the North American Saxophone Alliance Region II Conference, a masterclass with internationally acclaimed saxophonist Dr. Timothy McAllister, and an appearance at Disney Concert Hall (home of the Los Angeles Philharmonic). His primary teachers have been Tom Myer, Gene Smookler, and Dr. Alan Durst.

At the University of Colorado, he has performed with both the premier Wind Symphony and the graduate saxophone quartet in addition to many other groups. As a soloist he has been featured most recently at the Idyllwild Music with doing his second solo performance and with the University of Colorado Saxophone Ensemble on several performances of Jacque Ibert’s Concertino Da Camera. He has also appeared as the principal/soprano saxophonist with the Idillwild Wind Ensemble. Active in Colorado's musical theater scene, Neal recently completed his second season with the Colorado Light Opera performing both on saxophone and clarinet.

Following being a soloist with the Denver Young Artists Orchestra, Neal was asked to do a segment on playing saxophone with an orchestra for Colorado Public Radio.

An active educator, he teaches saxophone and clarinet both privately and at Miller Music in Longmont, Colorado. He currently runs his own private studio in Boulder and its outlying areas. Neal has also taught full saxophone classes/master classes in both Colorado and California.

Neal is currently putting together his next recital that will feature the music of American composer David Maslanka and Argentinean composer Astor Piazzolla. He will also be giving performances of Claire Grundman’s Concertante and David Maslanka’s Concerto for Alto Saxophone with local wind ensemble in the next few months. His quartet was invited to perform at the Navy Band Saxophone Symposium in Fairfax Virginia this coming January.

After graduating next spring, he plans to further his education in pursuit of his masters degree in saxophone performance while continuing to teach privately.
