Live Sound & Recording (Boulder)

If you have a gig with an audience of up to 300 and want professional level service you need Boulder Sound Guy. With options like a separate monitor mixer and computer controlled digital speaker processing you can get stadium style sound and service at your club gigs. More basic systems are available for smaller rooms and tighter budgets. Boulder Sound Guy is also available to mix on your system or one installed where you play, and is equipped to record your show to multi-track. References are available.

Now offering speaker system testing on an experimental basis. If you've ever wanted an objective look at your speakers' performance, this is your chance. I have found this to be a powerful tool, in particular for studio control room monitors and for stage monitors. The ideal candidate would have a digital parametric equalizer processing the speakers, which could be programmed at the time of testing for optimum performance. Measuring the response of studio monitors allows electronic compensation for room modes which can be difficult and expensive to treat acoustically. Stage monitors that have accurate equalization sound louder before feedback starts. I'll be offering this service for FREE for a very limited time to bands with their own PA, local venues and local recording studios that are interested, as my time allows. Examples of a few tests are on the website.

Guitarist looking to join a talented band (Broomfield, CO)

I recently moved to Colorado from New Jersey, and unfortunately, left my long-time band behind. I had played guitar with them for over 10 years.

I am looking for a new group to join, as I really miss rehearsing, shows, song-writing, friendship, having fun, etc.

My last group (Venice Sunlight - www.myspace.com/venicesunlight) stylistically sat in the areas of rock/alternative/punk/emotional/post-hardcore/indie/etc

I'm very open to different styles and would love to be a part of a creative, and somewhat serious band. I do have a day job, but I can commit time to a group for rehearsing and performing and I am willing to take it as far as it goes.

I'm 24 and I have serious experience performing and playing. My equipment is fully professional, and i'd like for it not to collect dust.

I am currently listening to: Gatsbys American Dream, Portugal. The Man, Motion City Soundtrack, Alexisonfire, As Tall As Lions, Brand New, Chiodos, The Dear Hunter, Forgive Durden, The Gay Blades, Hot Rod Circuit, Kay Kay and His Weathered Underground, Saves The Day, Third Eye Blind, Thrice, Thursday, etc

If you have similar interests, currently in a band or wanting to start a band, and between 21 and 29, i'd be interested in speaking with you.

Thanks!

Open mic opportunity for musicians (nederland)

Several local artists in the Nederland community are putting on a holiday open house at what used to be the SHining Star Cafe on First Street in Nederland.
Saturday, November 28th, from 9 am to 8 pm.

Any musicians that have some talent are welcome to come by and play a bit
it is fine if you put out your case for donations or sell cds
Bring whatever equipment you would need but there really isn't much amplification needed -- the acoustics are good and the place is pretty small

Drop me a line if you would like to further discuss possibilities.

Guitar Lessons from Teacher with Degree (Boulder Superior Longmont)

Matt Flaherty has openings in his teaching schedule for guitar/bass students. Holding a bachelor of music degree in jazz guitar performance from one of the top music schools in the New England area, I have over 15 years playing experience and 8 years teaching music.

I currently teach over 30 students a week in Boulder, and have plenty of references if needed. I can teach most styles including rock, jazz, blues, classical, folk, jamband, funk, etc...

Some of the areas I like to teach are improvisation ( scales, theory ), songs of the students choice, rhythm/chordal technique, and learning how to read music( a bad area for most guitarist :) )

I have had the pleasure of playing with some great musicians such as Dave Grippo and Russ Lawton (of Trey Anastasio/Phish ), Bill Nershi ( String Cheese Incident ) Jen Durkin ( Deep Banana Blackout / Bombsquad), Mystic Bowie ( Tuff Gong records ), and Vinny Idol ( D-Block hip hop supergroup producer).

If your looking to learn how to be a better musician and have fun doing it, respond to this ad. Don't take chances with under-qualified teachers who can turn you off from your instrument.

Metal Vocalist Needed (Thornton)

Pro Metal band seeks vocalist.

Flutist/vocalist looking for the right niche (Boulder)

I am an attractive female vocalist and flutist with 28 years experience-minored in music and can play any genre from classical, jazz, rock, folk, celtic.. you name it. My singing is almost on par with the flute- just without professional lessons. I have a very wide range and can mimic many different female singers and many styles, also very versatile. I sound like Colbie Callin and have very good low range up to middle-high (2 octaves). I have great stage presence and look like I'm in my late 20s. I have been in several bands in the past (rock and celtic-rock fusion) but do not have any downloads, etc.. you'll just have to hear me live! If you have a musical group and are looking for some interesting music, need a female voice for either front or harmony, and could use a flute- even for some background filling, I am willing to try things out until I find the 'right fit'. Let me know!

shakuhachi lessons wanted (S Boulder)

Looking for someone to teach me Shakuhachi. If price is reasonable, I can pay for lessons, but I would prefer to barter with lessons in either Japanese language/translation, or Tai Chi/meditation/external martial arts/yoga. I'm a native speaker of Japanese, and a long time practitioner of martial arts.

You don't have to be at a professional level. I'm sure there's something I could learn even from an intermediate/beginner level student--just want to get started.

If you know any shakuhachi players, please pass this on!

Thanks.

Guitar available hard rock I know a drummer (Boulder / Denver)

Hello here is what I am looking for. Its quite a lot of info but read on and see if I’m a fit I also know a drummer if you are looking for one. We could be a pair or not. Therefore, here goes…

Your band is complete but needing a guitarist maybe a drummer please, no start up projects with any direction or solid players. I like a 2 guitar band with great vocals; band can be 5 or 6 piece with sound man, optional sound man if we get a decent sound and can manage it from stage if not I prefer a sound man... yeah some venues have a sound guy and PA that’s ok but for the clubs or private gigs that don't I still like to have a great sound out front.

I like to play Hard Rock classic to current with originals, you must be soon to be gigging with motivated, practicing musicians, you must want to gig 2 or more weekends a month plus other opportunities and yes I like to get paid I'm a full timer. Doing benefits are ok for great exposure and the right reasons, open stages or free bees well there ain't nothing for free think about it!!! So I do not do many free gigs unless for the right reasons.

You must have a set list that I can check out and you must be able to play those tunes not just a wish list. I am looking to have at least 20 tunes we have in common to get gigging sooner and less practice time needed. I have a set list of tunes I have played before most are all classic tunes; after we make contact I can send it to you if you are interested in looking at it. I do not expect to play all of them but some of them would be nice (helps the learning curve) this list also shows you what style I have played in but I am open to (sensible, musically, vocally we can play that song well) suggestions. Again, classic HARD ROCK to current music styles is what I like to play.

You must have a PA and now how to run it; no laughing matter I am serious I had an audition the other day well I‘ll just leave it at that. I'm a sound man for Sight Unseen so I'm experienced at running a 10,000 watt system and expect you to be able to control the PA but I don't mind helping out some, I have Yamaha mains & monitors, power, eq, efx, mackie 16 channel, 16x3 snake to help out with PA needs but no lights. I will not be multi tasking on guitar and sound for your band unless I feel it necessary and you ask me to other wise it is your baby, I want to be playing guitar.

I'm looking to fill in my open dates playing guitar when I‘m not running sound, I'm booked up to March 2010, 2 weekends a month with Sight Unseen. First, I am looking for a steady gig not just another band with gigs but something I could be in for awhile. Yes, I would rather be playing guitar most of the time and No, I do not plan to quit Sight Unseen any time soon but would like to be busy gigging with no lag time except vacations; so two bands you should be ok with one me playing guitar and the other me running sound. I only rehearse once in awhile with Sight Unseen but mostly load in/out before & after gigs. Since I already know my schedule and if you have a schedule, we can see what jives and what do not and if its open dates, any body that fills it first has my guarantee I will be there. If you have, any issues with me working in another band make sure you can back that up with gigs scheduled and I will consider it but I will not give up the sound gig just because you do not like it or vise versa. I also am not looking for more than two projects period…but if one is very busy, I will arrange to be there.

You must have structured rehearsals and unless learning new songs you do not need to rehearse that often. I am also looking for the right personalities with fun attitudes and pro minds. I will travel to rehearse up to 30 minutes one time a week from Broomfield that includes Longmont, Erie, Boulder, Westminster, Thornton, Wheat Ridge, Arvada, Northern Aurora and all points in between at sensible times so that if we all travel that far we do not just rehearse an hour or so. I am already driving an hour to get there and back its got to be worth the drive time and then some. Gigs I will travel up and down I-25 corridor and other major cities like; Cheyenne, Park city, Albuquerque, Scotts bluff, must pay well.

I hope that this gives you enough info on what I am looking for but if you would like to hear some samples please go to www.myspace.com/timkotowski for bio and guitar examples plus originals. That is me singing, playing guitar, bass, keys and recording on my Roland 16 TRACK. If you are, interested lets talk about an audition, getting your band complete, and back gigging.

Thanks keep on rockin’

"I was concerned about my son losing interest in his guitar, knowing that he has potential and natural talent. So, I was relieved after the first session with Thomas! Thomas has helped my son rediscover his passion for music and creative spirit. After each lesson, my son is excited about life again and after only a short amount of time, is excelling beyond my expectations." Heather Forbes, Boulder

"Thomas has really helped me progress with my guitar playing over the last few months. I have learned so much about picking and strumming while having a blast at the same time! Bassist Wanted for Reggae Metal Band (Longmont)

Name: Zen Conspiracy
Contact Name: John
Years Together: 3
Level Of Commitment: Committed
Gigs Played: 10 to 50
Tend to Practice: 2-3 times per week
Available to Gig: 2 time(s) per month

Zen Conspiracy is a Longmont-based band that writes, records, and performs original music. Our music tips toward the heavier side but remains grounded in reggae melodies. Our style is influenced by 90's Thrash, Death Metal, and Reggae.

Our bass guitarist has recently chosen to leave the band due to directional differences. This means were in the market for a new one. We’re open minded about music influences, but desire a backbone drive that seats well with our overall sound – a well-controlled rhythm and melody capable of sustained beauty and violence. Ideally a bassist that is well disciplined in the art of Reggae & Metal styles. Our sound is pretty unique as it blends the two genres. From a backbone perspective a finger playing 4-6 string bassist that can bring and drive a reggae groove would blend in very nicely. A candidate must be able to contribute to our music writing and be able to jive with our bands direction and vision. Our current bass player is willing to assist in acclimating in a new member for a seamless transition of our recorded material.

Requirements are few, but those that exist are important. Available to rehearse 2-3 times per week (evenings around 6pm and/or weekends), available to play live shows twice monthly. Financial stability and maturity (i.e. you don’t need a ride, gas money or someone to bail you out of jail). You’re a team player willing and able to contribute to something that is bigger than the sum of its parts. Old enough to drink and smart enough to do it responsibly (this doesn’t mean you have to drink). We’re an amateur band with a professional attitude and work ethic so we need you to be the same.

We prefer you have your own instrument but gear is not an issue.

Call John @ 720-255-6167 to line up an audition.

Need acoustic solo artists all styles all instruments (Boulder)

I am a local musician who has alot of experience playing locally and want to create a house concert style curcuit in the boulder and surrounding area. I want to have a pool of musicians who are a part of this, always finding gigs and inviting people from the house concert curcuit group to open or collaborate etc. This would probably start by the musicians hosting concerts at their own house first, inviting friends and then we switch around to each other's house until other people who are not musicians decide that they would like to become part of it and host us. I have a facebook group called "United boulder Musicians". become a member and then shoot me ideas and possible dates. I think this could turn into a good thing. I am the host of the U.B.M. group, so thats how you can get ahold of me. thanks, I hope it works

Guitar Lessons Fun and Easy (Can teach at your home)

Guitarist Lynn Patrick
http://www.lynnpatrick.com

Some people think learning guitar is hard. It's really not. So much has to do with the teacher whether you learn or not. I have a teaching style that's easy, fun and simple. I go through each step slowly and help you understand at your pace.

I've been teaching for 15 years. I'm very patient and supportive, enjoy teaching children, beginners, intermediate level and professionals. You can learn different ways to strum, how to finger-pick, flat-pick, use open tunings, how to create your own rhythms and many other techniques. I also teach songwriting, how to record CDs and put promo packages together.

I teach one hour lessons and will come to your house.

Two of my self-produced CDs won internationally in the Independent Music Awards. Sponsored by Border Bookstores, judges included Peter Gabriel, Cindi Lauper, Suzanne Vega, Wynonna, David Grisman, Patti Loveless and many others. My music gets played on satellite, cable TV and radio stations around the country and internationally: Music Choice, XM radio, Canada's CBC, NPR's All Things Considered, Morning Edition and Talk of the Nation.

I've performed at Red Rocks, Chautuaqua Auditorium, Swallow Hill, Lyons Folks Festival, Taste of Colorado Festival, Cherry Creek Arts Festival and many other prestigious venues and events locally and nationally.

Lead Guitar Looking to join a Gigging Band (Boulder and Surrounding Area)

I am 24, and I play lead guitar. I have been playing guitar for 16 years. I can play by ear very well, but can also read music and charts, etc. I was trained classically for about 5 years before and during college. I don't typically need you to tell me what I'll be playing to. I can write lots of different types of music. I understand theory very well and can be in charge of writing my own parts or just making stuff up on the fly! I am open to criticism. I listen to what people have to say and can appreciate directions, especially if you are looking for a particular sound or technique. I tend to gravitate towards lead and would like that specific role in a band. I can always take over rhythm, if necessary, but lead is my biggest strength. I don't like to play extremely fast, though I can and will if it feels right. I just like to sing through the guitar. I have a nice modified strat, a vintage Gibson es-345, and a Gibson SG, with a Fender 67 Super Reverb. I can get lead tones that are about as good as they get. I just need a band to play them for. I just moved back to the Boulder/Denver Area and tried to form my own band, but its been rather tough and I would like to just play some guitar in another band and not have to keep searching for the right lineup for my own band and continue struggling to finish my own songs.
Let me know what you think of my tracks. There were quite a few random jams on that page. The first few are the most recent. Most of all the jams were made up on the spot with no prior rehearsal. I can play more traditional styles if necessary. The music on there is kind of experimental, but I also like to explore and jam like that. But, like I said, I am open to directions.

http://www.myspace.com/christophersikora37

Please no heavy metal or punk. I will play just about anything else. I am into classic rock, folk, psychedelic music, electronic music, country, trip-hop, soul, hip-hop, jazz, funk, indian music (i can play and have a sitar).
I am desperate for anything at this point. I need to just get out and play and I will be very committed to whatever band or project I become involved with. So let me know if you need a lead guitarist...

I am also a solid and knowledgeable bass player and have a decent rig as well.
In addition to those things, I can take over the role of engineer. I am trained recording engineer. I can bring 16 track protools recording to the table for the right band.
I should also add, that I am a spiritual type if that matters to anyone. I know it can be helpful for certain types of projects.

Thanks for reading. Hope to hear from some cool bands...

-Chris

Open MIC - THURSDAY's (Outback Saloon)

Open Mic Night!

Thursday nights @ the Outback Saloon, Boulder CO! 9PM

Boulder, CO 80301

We have equipment if you prefer to travel light. Play solo or link up with other musicians and jam out. It's all welcome at the Oback.

Looking for musicians for band !ROCK SHOW! (Lafayette)

I have been doing a solo recording project forever now and want to expand to have a full band and play out. I want to put on a ROCK N ROLL SHOW! Not a bunch of pple that just got off the bus looking down at their strings like somebody got chocolate on them.

"Dude, you got chocolate on my strings." "No dude, you got strings on my chocolate." "hu hu hu..let's jam the same thing all night ...hu hu"

um. NO.

I want to develop a precise working machine that will function even in the worst of situations. On fire? Good, keep playing...string broken? Yeah we know, you get four bars to switch guitars. Bra in your face? Lucky.

I want to put a group together that is solid and blows the face off everyone that sees them straight from show number one.

I'm experienced albeit slightly rusty but with time, I'll be playing leads with my mic stand as I jump from something.

Please, stop the fantasy. Time to do or forget about doing it at all. I know.

To be clear. This is a NEW project. We will NOT be doing the songs I've written in the past. WE will be writing new and fresh material from the start.

OK.....moving on.....

Guitarist looking for like minded individuals to write new original music. NO COVERS. Rock orientated. Trying to stay in regular 440-420 or drop D tuning. Willing to adjust slightly but not to the point of having to retune every song.

ME: Can do Lead guitar and rhythm with Background or lead vocals (I can do better with a lead vocalist: Have worked as one g-tar band or two: More than happy to share leads with a fellow guitarist if things click: Have a PA, three guitars, experienced, have transportation, job, own home. Long Hair. I like to put on a show! Large backdrops and whatever pyro smoke or lighting effects etc! Think KISS with a McDonalds budget.

I have a practice space in Lafayette at my house that we can use. Looking to practice 2-3 times a week. Have enough to play out by early spring.

Anyway. Shoot me an email and go from there.

Guitar Lessons from Teacher with Degree (Boulder Longmont Superior)

Established Band Seeking Drummer (Boulder)

Our band formed about 6 months ago, and has developed a significant following and regular paying gigs in Boulder and Denver. We're called Dixboro Trainwreck and our current arrangement includes acoustic and electric guitar, bass, mandolin, saxophone and harmonica. Two are experienced and capable singers, but we'd love to add more vocal ability anywhere we can.

We've never had a percussionist, but have been wanting to add one for some time. Ideally this person will be versatile across a range of percussive instruments and musical styles. We've described our sound as alternative folk rock, heavy on vocal harmonies, sax and harmonica. There may be a better description, we just haven't found it yet. We've got some videos from live shows on our facebook page - the quality isn't the greatest, but it'll give you an idea of our sound. You can get there from www.dixborotrainwreck.com

We play a mix of covers and original songs, and our influences include: Pearl Jam, Martin Sexton, Bob Dylan, Ben Harper, Phish, Stevie Wonder, Neil Young, Prince, Paul Simon and many others.

If you're interested, contact us by email or facebook and we can schedule an audition.

Thanks for your consideration,

Been on a Gaga Kick (Boulder)

Hey,

I just got on this Lady GaGa kick in the past two weeks. I had never listened to her and heard a song. I looked a little deeper and found out she can actually play. So I checked out some more stuff and got into some of her better tunes. My music history is everything from Miles Davis to Mahavishnu Orchestra to Frank Zappa to Afrobeat to world music.. I haven't heard any really good new music in a while. So anyway, I recorded a little piece inspired by some of Gaga's stuff. I play guitar and keys although this thing is just keys:

http://www.innerlightdesign.com/tunes/Gaga.mp3

I'm looking for a singer who could work with this kind of thing. Doesn't have to be this exactly, but things that have some kick, funk, and soul to them. Also looking to put together a band - a seriously kick ass band. I'm in my 30's and am looking for some people who are ready (and able) to throw it down. I've got lots of other tunes I can share. Hit me up if you are interested....

The songs are a solid mix of originals and covers generally in the style of acoustic, eclectic, indie-rock (with elements of classic rock, jazz, and classical).

  • Innate talent + a life long passion for/involvement with music and performing
  • New York City training and performing credits
  • Two musical solo albums
  • Successful a capella groups
  • Intensive training and practice of breathwork and other holistically oriented modalities
  • I find that working with people to improve their vocal production with sung and/or spoken word, generally engages much more than just technical expertise, also involving the whole person in body, mind and spirit.

I am looking for serious singers and students of voice, as well as other people who, for whatever reason, need competent and positive/supportive feedback for public singing and/or speaking.

Please contact me first via email to schedule a time to talk.....

    Keyboard Auditions this Weekend (Boulder)

Newly formed instrumental group seeks keyboard player familiar with all forms of popular music (rock, funk, jazz, reggae, latin). We are three experienced, full-time musicians (24-38), new to town and eager to play paying gigs A.S.A.P. We will be holding auditions in a professional rehearsal facility in downtown Boulder this weekend. Please email above address for more details.

    A Cappella! (Boulder/Longmont)

Ready to sing? Want to sing YOUR music?

Three a cappella vocal groups now auditioning:

    • DIAGONAL HIGHWAY, a post-college a cappella group, forming NOW to begin rehearsals immediately. Boulder/Longmont

    • A South-Denver-based mixed post-college a cappella group, to begin rehearsals in Jan 2010

    • A Boulder-based male group, high-energy crazy male a cappella, to begin rehearsals in Jan 2010

As members of the Contemporary A Cappella League , all three groups will enjoy the benefits of belonging to an international network of singers.

All singers invited to audition. Experience singing college a cappella not required. Ability to read music, arrange music, and/or dance in a pleasing manner would be nice, but not required. Any singer interested in singing contemporary (not choral) a cappella should audition.

These groups will be all about the FUN: positive, social singing. Will rehearse once per week, have at least two singers/part so people can miss if they need for family or work, will be singing popular music from the last twenty years. Will perform once a month (or so). FUN. Not a major commitment.

    Looking For Bassist! (Boulder/Lafayette area)

We (Taylor and Dylan) are looking for a somewhat technical bassist anywhere in the Lafeyette or Boulder area.
We are looking for someone who is willing to work with uncommon time signatures, easy to play with, fun and creative.

Dylan and I are both 16 years old and have played with each other much in the past.
We are experienced musicians and we both revolve around guitar, vocals and drums.
we work very well with each other, but we are looking for that one person who can help us pull a band together.

Some of our biggest influences are Rush, Tool, System of a Down, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Black Sabbath, Primus and many others.
The style we are shooting for is very progressive with an alternative rock/metal feel. We do have our own unique touch as well.

We both live in the Lafayette area, and usually practice there.
We are free most anytime in the afternoon, so if you are interested in jamming sometime then contact us!

    VOCALIST AVAILABLE! (Westminster, CO)

I am 27 years old, and I've been singing since I could speak. I've been working on various studio projects over the last few years but looking to start or join a band with like-minded people (around the same age) whose goal is to play live shows, develop a huge fan base, record an album, and eventually get radio-play. I have just under 2 albums of finished vocal lines. Some of my influences include: M.J., Deftones, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Incubus, Tool/APC, Sunny Day Real Estate, NIN, Depeche Mode, The Cure, Portishead, and many more....

I would prefer to be a part of a pop-sensible electronic or melodic alt/indie rock project along the lines of Muse or Shiny Toy Guns, but I'm open to just about anything (except metal or country) as long as it moves me. Marketability is key. If you're interested in taking the next step, please reply with a little about yourself or the band you're in and a link to some of your previous works, and I'll be happy to send you a link to some of mine.

    Thanks a lot!
    - A.J.

looking for solid bands to collaborate on ballroom show... (Boulder)

I am with a local band in Boulder and we are trying to get out of the bar scene. So my solution is to rent out a ballroom for an evening and collaborate with another band or two for a multi band line up.
We have very serious PA equipment and loudspeakers. I will organize all sound reinforcement with my sound engineer and set up a descent lighting package.

I am hoping to find some local acts who have some original material. This will be a rock and roll event so jazz and blues acts need not apply; unless you got some kind of fusion thing going on. I want to focus on full bands; guitar, bass, drums, keyboards kinda thing. Lets keep it high energy so we can keep on movin to the groovin all night long. We are open to all acts however it would be nice to see some complete bands with original material that you can dance to. Each band will need to perform approximately 1-2 hours, all bands will draw for the line up order, first, second, third, ect. This will be an ALL AGES EVENT! (I will not be investing in a liquor license for this event, so no drinking on stage like them hillbillies do.) Lets keep this about the music and get some people in the door.

I will handle all of the technicalities and expenses, all I ask is that you show up, bring all your friends, have a good time playing for a crowd and enjoy some local music. Please feel free to advertise your band and this event.

We have a ballroom lined up in North Boulder. It is huge, very welcoming atmosphere, near a bus stop, and would be very accommodating.

I will handle ALL expenses. There will be some kind of ticket price, this is not yet set and will be in place to cover costs. A ticket will not be over $10, this is to encourage people to come. Each member of every band will be allotted three "back stage passes", one for them self and two for anyone they like. Hopefully this will encourage more people to come to the show and bring there friends. All ticket sales will be distributed amongst the band members after the event expenses are paid in full. Tickets will be available for sale before and during the show.

    SERIOUS BANDS ONLY!

I hope this will give us all a chance to play in a positive environment and make some connections. If things go well I intend on repeating the adventure maybe even regularly, and in other parts of town. I am just a musician with limited resources who wants to work in the industry. If we work together maybe we can give ourselves jobs playing shows and open doors to all kinds of possibilities. We could create something really special for many musicians in our area.

If your band is interested in a new adventure and would like to set up an audition, please email me at astralcarr@aim.com
all terms are negotiable, if you are interested in organizing, managing, or promoting for this event please email me at the above address.

Auditions are already being held in North Boulder at the A.B.M.C. warehouse. This event will be held in February, 2010.

Keyboard player wanted for video game band (Boulder/Denver)

Newly formed video game band looking for a keyboard player. I just moved from NYC to Boulder and formed a band that plays renditions of classic video game music. I have played in another game band for a number of years (www.myspace.com/thisplaceishaunted) and was very successful back east. I've played many conventions and festivals with my previous band and have contacts to play large events all over the US.

At this time we're primarily looking for keyboards, but if you play guitar, bass or drums you should also respond, we are still in the initial stages of forming and are very open minded.

Respond to me (Mike) as soon as possible if you're interested.

Making a Record? Need Fiddle? Violin?

Add the bright sound of a string quartet or the ethereal strains of a string orchestra to your recording! Give your songs a kick with some country fiddle sass, acrobatic gypsy licks, or simple, beautiful solo fiddle, viola, or cello.

Using the same mics found in major recording studios (royer and vintage neumann tube mics), I'll layer all the parts, guaranteed in tune, all for the cost of a single musician.

I write parts, expand on your melodic ideas, or play what you've written.

Simply email me an mp3 of your song, let me know what you're looking for, and get your completed string parts back in 2 days time. I charge $75/song, whether you want a single instrument, George Martin-style string arrangement, or something straight from Beck's "Sea Change".

    Violin and Fiddle Lessons

Experienced, patient teacher and performer, Mark O'Connor Camp instructor (eastern european and gypsy jazz) is offering 1 hour and 1/2 hour lessons in the Boulder area in Gypsy Jazz, Balkan, Swing, Bluegrass, Celtic, Old-Time, and Classical styles.

I accept students of all ages and all abilities. I teach young children using the Shirley Givens Method, and use a combination of methods, including my own, to teach older students. Each lesson is tailored to fit the individual student's learning style.

I have helped many experienced professional players improve their technical foundations and improvisational vocabulary - if you feel there's an area of your playing you'd like to improve, we can work on it!

Lessons are $40/hour or $25/half-hour. Please email davenion@taarka.com or call 360-390-8606 to find out more and set up your first lesson.

Guitar Lessons from Teacher with Degree (Boulder Superior Longmont)

Matt Flaherty has openings in his teaching schedule for guitar/bass students. Holding a bachelor of music degree in jazz guitar performance from one of the top music schools in the New England area, I have over 14 years playing experience and 8 years teaching music.

Bass player needed for Hendrix tribute (Boulder County)

Just like the title says.... seasoned guitarist and drummer seek a laid back bass player. Age not important, just have some ability.
Beautiful private practice space in the mountains west of Boulder. No pressure, no hassles, no egos, no drama. If you like to slap and pop yer 8 string bass than this wouldn't be the right situation for you.
