Loose boxer - seen Fri. evening (Table Mesa/Broadway)

On my way home from the bus at ~7:15, I saw a brindle dog (pretty sure it was a male boxer - but it was dark outisde). He came out of Bear Creek towards me. This was on the s. end of Martin park near the NE corner of Table Mesa and Broadway. There were no other humans around. He had a collar and tags. I tried to read his tags, but he wouldn't let me get close. He was too skittish. He ran west towards Broadway and disappeared into the night. If you're looking for a dog that meets this description, I hope this note helps.

She is very rambunctious at times and quite entertaining, I think small children would really get a kick out of her. These animals are absolutely amazing and it's hard for me to give them up, but I feel like I just don't have time to give them the attention that they need. Both squirrels are friendly, extremely curious and are good around other animals. The squirrels are very attached to eachother, so I prefer that they go to the same home. Male Pet Sitter Needed (Boulder)

We have two dogs and a backyard. We just need someone to come over and let them out in the backyard a few times per weekend when we head for the mountains. Generally twice on Saturdays and once or twice on Sundays. No walks, no picking up after them, not much work!
One of our dogs is afraid of people at first but warms up to guys pretty quickly. He'll bark when he first sees you. So I'd love to have you come over for a meet-and-greet first. We live in Central Boulder, very close to downtown Pearl Street

We need someone who is very reliable, responsible, and preferably someone who is in town most weekends during the winter.

While the dogs are outside, you can watch TV, use the internet, pop in a movie, whatever you want. We just need someone to come over and let them out for about 1/2 an hour at a time.
We are not looking for a temporary one-time thing - this would last at least two weekends/month until May. It's a nice way to make some extra cash!

Daisy Mae Dachshund needs a home (Longmont)

There is a smooth coat dachshund at the Longmont Humane Society that is a real sweetheart. The info on the card on her kennel and on their website says her owner died, but the front desk people gave me two other stories - one said she wasn't getting along with the other animals in her home and a different person said she was being picked on by another pet. After spending time with her, I doubt she was the problem because she is extremely friendly and we passed several other dogs some of which were barking and she didn't once bark or look fazed by them. She was just delighted to get out with me and loved sitting in my lap and being held. She was great on the leash and very politely took treats from my fingers and from a little 2 yr old that came over to see her. Anyway, regardless of the reason she is there, this is a wonderful dog that needs a loving home. She is at the Longmont Humane Soc. Hi my name is Chloe. I'm a "full figured" cavalier girl. I am 5 years old and my foster mom says I am a very well mannered lady. I was purchased from a puppy mill in Missouri to be used as a backyard breeder here in Colorado. That didn't go so well as one litter I had to have a c-section and my last litter, my uterus ruptured so I had to be spayed. I guess I wasn't important any more after that as I was pretty much forgotten about. My nails had curled around 2-3 times, my skin was a mess and I am EXTREMELY overweight. My doctor did some tests on me and determined my weight issues are most likely do to overeating and being bored/depressed.

After being ignored for so long, I'm really ready to be loved and a part of the family. I am a very calm and easy going girl and I tend to find a spot out of the way where I can see my family and lay there patiently. I am not pushy, I don't beg and I am VERY laid back. If my foster mom leaves my sight I will get up and follow her just make sure she's doing ok.

I am housebroken. I have never been taught any basic commands such as sit, stay etc and I have never been on leash, BUT I am so eager to please, that I think I could learn things very quickly. I do know my name and come when called.

I really want a home where someone is home most of the day. Another friendly dog would be a bonus, but I think I would do ok as the princess as well. I need a family that will monitor my food intake and take me for walks so I can get some exercise and lose some weight. My foster mom thinks I will still be pretty big for a cavalier as my litter mate is in good body weight and is 27 pounds. I most likely should be around 28-30 pounds or so, and I currently weigh 35. Other than my weight issue, I was given a clean bill of health. My heart sounds great which is a big deal for us cavaliers I guess. I am spayed, had my teeth spruced up and am up to date on my shots. If you think you could give me life I deserve, please ask for me.

Dog found on side of freeway. Help! (Boulder, CO)

Hey all,

My roommate and I were on a road trip and on our way back home spotted a dog in the center divider of the highway. He appeared to have been previously hit by a car (thankfully, his injuries were not serious) and was attempting to cross the freeway again. We picked him up because we feared for his life. He did not have a collar or microchip and appears to have been on the streets for a good while now. He looks like a German Shepherd/Bloodhound/Lab mix. He is about 60lbs but needs to put on 5-10lbs because he is underweight. He is a SUPER sweet and friendly dog. He seems potty trained but does not know any commands and will need basic training. He gets along with other dogs and is good with children. He has no aggression and appears to have no behavioral problems. I would LOVE to keep him but between my roommate and myself, we have 3 dogs already! We have named him Dexter. He is young (about 1 or even younger) and active. I've gotten him his first set of shots, flea/tick medication, rabies vaccine, and have groomed him. He is NOT altered and will only go to a home that will neuter him!

There will be a $100 adoption fee. I want to make sure he goes to a home that can afford to own a dog, as well as make sure he does not end up at some animal testing center.

Please help me find this sweet dog a permanent home. He has had a rough start and deserves to have a good life.

I bought 2 Moor Goldfish at Petco, and they seem to be unhappy in my tank. I have a simply goldfish bowl, and although the employee at Petco said that would be fine, I think they need a tank with a bubbler and a filter.

They are at the top of the tank all day, wanting more oxygen because they make the water dirty, and since there is not a bubbler, they are not getting enough O2. We don't want to invest in the whole set-up, and think that they can find a better home in a bigger tank with other fish.

Loving Black and white cat needs a home (Boulder)

So here is the deal, I have a mid-sized black and white cat that was left with me while a friend was on vacation. Friend now refuses to take the cat back, citing economic and other issues. I feel terrible for the animal, but cannot keep it because my dog is a cat-eater and the dog was here first. I've even tried to train the dog (including with expensive private assistance) to no avail.

So, now I have this cat that needs a new home and is now living in a guest room of my house. Cat is female, about 3, fixed, up to date on shots (as far as I know) and declawed in the front. Very loving, very much in need of attention and affection. You can have all the cat toys, box, food, etc. that I've got.

All I ask in return is that you give me a check for $25 to the Boulder Humane Society or a similar charity. I dont want any money, but I also dont want this animal exploited or killed. A small adoption fee payable to a third party addresses that.

Lili needs a home! (Niwot)

I am sadly posting an ad in an attempt to find placement for a 'kitten' (but more like a panther cub) that I adopted from the Humane Society several months ago after I lost my beloved cat of 10 years. I just don't have the heart to take her back, but may have to. 'Lili' is a black, short-haired 6-month old, with a bit of white on her tummy. She is very sleek and long, built like a Siamese, and will end up being a rather large cat, I think. She currently weighs about 7 or 8 lbs. She is spayed and has all of her shots and is even micro-chipped! She comes with all documentation and is free to the right home. The problem is that my place is too small, and I'm not home enough. Lili is NOT your ordinary cat! She requires LOTS of love and attention (she is incredibly affectionate, gives 'hugs' and kisses!). Lili is VERY playful, VERY athletic (actually, quite rambunctious) and would love a very large place to tear around. She needs LOTS of stimulation and has incredible amounts of energy. I just can't provide for her, and feel terrible with guilt every time I come home- and every time I leave! She has separation anxiety and just cannot be left all alone for long periods of time. Another playful critter would probably solve the issue, but I am only allowed to have one cat.

The ideal situation(s) would be: larger place (not a tiny apt), other animals (dogs or cats, but she might be a bit much for an older animal to deal with), possible access to outdoors? (fenced in yard/patio), ROWDY children that can actually play rough with this cat! (children over age 7, not for hurting the cat but other way around! she plays very ROUGH at times), dogs, puppies..lions and tigers? lots of family members, busy environment.. or, just a very patient cat-lover who is home most of the time and can allow her a lot of room and stimulation.. Lili is not mean, but can get rough and requires great patience.. she is very intelligent, very inquisitive, curious, busy, demanding.. ETC. I guess she is more like having a puppy or a baby, or.. a wild animal- than a kitten! She is just plain too much for me to handle!!!

I realize I might have difficulty finding placement, but I'm willing to try and find her the right owner.. are you the one?

I am currently working for a temp agency part time and looking for other work but currently have to stay at a shelter because my car got towed. he was in a high kill shelter and then was taken in by a rescue east of Colorado Springs...
So he is in need of some obedience lessons!!!

baby rats dumbo,rex,hairless,odd eye (boulder)

I have two males, dumbo ears and about 7 weeks old. One is a light himilayan type, other albino. These are 5.00 each. Babies that are almost ready to leave are rex coat, dumbo ears, some in litter are black eyed hairless. Mother is an odd eye rex with awesome color and dad a hairless. 10.00 each. I am keeping one odd eyed baby. Unsure if there are any more in litter, and in future there will be more for sure!

Comment: Alea has been with us awhile, and we're pretty sure why: she spends most of her day in the kennel jumping straight up in the air! This leads a lot of those looking on to ponder what she must be like in a home. Well, the past 3+ months a volunteer has taken Alea to work weekdays in an office setting so she can get away from the hustle and bustle of the shelter.

The fact is, when away from the action in the shelter, Alea is one relaxed dog. She has free run of the office and spends much of her day sleeping, either by the volunteer's desk or finds where the patch of sun is shining through the window and snoozes there. Officemates frequently visit her for snuggle fests or, when it's break time, a game of fetch or tug or let's run around the office like crazy to burn up some energy! These times have definitely become office favorites - even the cat folks love her!

Alea is ready for anything and has enough energy to follow you hiking or camping or whatever you come up with. She truly enjoys time with her human, so if you're someone looking for a friend who will be happy to see you and spend time with you, whether it's for lounging or adventures, then check out this special girl. Don't be surprised if she seems aloof - she takes a little while to warm up and even then, with her favorite person at the shelter, she is a little reserved, showing her love with a few kisses here and there or coming over to rest her head on your leg for a scratch behind the ear.

Alea loves riding in the car, knows the commands Sit, Down, Shake, and is learning Drop It (a valuable command for those games of tugs!). She does great with strangers visiting the office, even those in uniforms, and our vet staff reports she is great with their handling. Need play partner for my dog during the day! (N. Boulder)

So I can only give my dog so much exercise due to my work schedule and really its not even about the exercise but more about the fact that she needs some stimulation from playing with another or other dogs.

What I'm looking for is someone who wants to drop their dog off at my house while they are at work so the two of them can play together...I would love it if we could rotate days or weeks at each others houses.

I KNOW there are other people that want to do this but I just need to find them!

My pup is a 4 1/2 year old german shepherd mix who is pretty tall and lean. She weighs about 90 lbs. I'm sure most people say their dog is the most beautiful dog in the world but Zoe really is stunningly beautiful...she gets compliments every time we go out. She's got quiet a bit of energy and would need a dog who has as much energy as she does, and plays as hard as she does. She's an absolute sweetheart, she loves kids, she loves puppies and is very patient with them, she loves people, and loves to wrestle. She also climbs short fences so you'd need to have a privacy fence or something tall.

Ferret and All Supplies Needs New Home (Boulder and Surrounding)

Just so everyone is aware, it is not healthy for baby rabbits to leave their mother before 8 weeks old. Goldfish up for adoption to good home (Boulder)

I have ~12 or so goldfish bought from local chain pet stores that have been good friends to me for the last two years or so. They are starting to get too big for their current tank so I want to find new homes for some of them. Prefer to give a couple away at a time so they have some familiar company in their new tank. LARGE hamster/gerbil cage, food, treats, balls, travel cage, bedding (Boulder)

This is very large for a hamster cage: 16X16X14inches. It's the Jill 42.1 by Marchioro. It's two levels, but is much bigger than any of the three-level cages I've seen (as they are very narrow). I bought this a few months ago for $60 and have seen it listed for anywhere from $50-90 (without shipping). I have not seen it in any pet stores, but you can look it up online. There are some negative reviews online, but they are mostly about putting it together (which is already done for you) and a loose wheel (we found a way to make it stay fine!) and leaky water bottle (we put a new one in there and you can have both!). It also includes a food dish, tubes for climbing, a "litter pan" (served as a bed for our little guy), and a little house.

The reason I'm charging $50, is that I'll also include our little travel cage, a brand-new exercise ball we never even took out of the package, a couple of bags of bedding (two kinds), some food, some treats, and a treat container. We also have extra food dishes (to put out extra food if you're away for a weekend).

I just want another hamster to get to enjoy all of this great stuff we invested in for our hamster and can no longer use. Our awesome hamster died a few weeks ago- Don't worry, everything has been thoroughly sanitized, and he wasn't sick, just old!
