Looking for Buenos Aires Cultural Experts (Recoleta)

Seeking jack-or-jill-of-all-trades for bilingual Web project oriented to the local gay community, gay expats, and visiting LGBT tourists.

Requirements:

Knowledge of Buenos Aires' varied cultural scene and of what makes Argentinians tick. You can't be fresh off the bus with your backpack. You need to not just know but understand the concept of buena onda.

Conversancy in both English and Spanish, as well as basic writing skills in both. Portuguese, other languages a plus.

Familiarity with social media and, ideally, familiarity with the Wordpress blogging platform.

Fearlessness in social and business situations.

Ability to work flexible hours.

We are looking to hire someone who is self-motivated and happy taking on multiple responsibilities. Someone who is comfortable around all sorts of people and able to forge relationships, make connections and make things happen. Someone who can schmooze and gladhand when needed. If you're the kind of person who always seems to know everybody and is able to bring people together, always knows where to find the best parties and knows how to get what you want, we want to talk to you. If that isn't exactly you, we can still talk.

The fun to be had will include exploring and reporting on Buenos Aires nightlife, parties, events and happenings, as well as the arts and cultural scene. You will also need good research skills including but not limited to use of the Web and a firm understanding of the possibilities of social media. Have twitter/Facebook/FriendFeed/ accounts? Use gmail instead of Hotmail? Prefer Macs over PCs? We like you already.

You will be responsible for finding out what's new and important to write about on the gay scene, what is of interest to both locals and tourists, and then streaming that information to the Editor. You will go out on assignment, interview people active in the arts and politics, initiate contact with promoters and owners of businesses that cater to the gay community and the tourist industry in general, be a visible physical presence on the queer streets of Buenos Aires, and help brand our business with your knowledge, friendliness, and all around social ability and motility.

Salary will be competitive locally for a job that will be, at first, part-time, around 25 hours a week. If we work well together and you kick ass and take names, this job will easily become full-time in a short time with commensurate compensation.

Senior Flex Designer (Telecommute)

Looking for Senior Flex Designer for project work for San Francisco company. Must be good with Vectors, UI, UX, and good with skins.

All work to be done in your home, we have regular meetings via the web. First we are looking to do short projects of a month or so, if everything works out this can become a more fulltime position. It's ok if you are doing this as a second job its ok, most of our folks are doing that (some of our development team teaches at Google). I am looking for extremely high quality photos, that can be blown up to atleast 1 meter by 1 meter. This will be for an up and coming restaurant in the Palermo Soho neighborhood. While we can not pay much, we will give you credit underneath the photos in the restaurant and on the webpage.

- Asistir a los Diseñadores Senior y el equipo de Desarrollo con los diseños.
- Responsable del mantenimiento, herramientas, campañas por e-mail y e-newsletters del website.
- Preparar el trabajo a ser cumplido mediante la recolección de información y materiales.
- Planificar el concepto estudiando la información y los materiales.
- Ilustrar el concepto mediante el diseño de bosquejos iniciales de las imágenes con copia; resolviendo cuestiones de organización, tamaño, tipo y estilo, así como otros conceptos estéticos relacionados.
- Obtener la aprovación del concepto submitiendo el bosquejo inicial.
- Completar proyectos Web coordinando con los equipos creativo, de marketing y de desarrollo del sitio.
- Contribuir con los esfuerzos del equipo cumpliendo con resultados relacionados en tanto sea necesario.
- Manejar el tiempo en forma efectiva mientras se trabaja en la entrega de múltiples proyectos.
- Definir recursos y agenda para las entregas junto con los Project Managers.
- Dirigir y supervisar el equipo creativo, y manejar los conflictos dentro del grupo.
- Llevar a cabo análisis de calidad y evaluaciones del equipo.
- Brindar ayuda con entrevistas laborales, evaluaciones y selección de candidatos.

Requisitos:
- Al menos 5 años de experiencia en multimedia, diseño web, para una agencia o un estudio personal.
- Título en Diseño Gráfico, Web o relacionado (preferido).
- Excelente entendimiento de aplicaciones gráficas / web standard (Photoshop, Illustrator, Image Ready, Fireworks, Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.)
- Excelentes habilidades para diseño visual y conocimiento del bosquejo, tipografía web, color, optimización de archivos y compatibilidad del navegador para las páginas web.
- Pensador creativo, abierto a la exploración de ideas.
- Actitud positiva, y habilidad para seguir directivas y trabajar bien con otros en un ambiente orientado al trabajo en equipo.
- Capacidad para trabajar en forma independiente.
- Orientación a lograr resultados, impulsado por la satisfacción del cliente, organizado y con fuerte atención al detalle.
