Need a cleaning lady super star? Look no further (Buenos Aires, Capital)
I am posting this ad to recommend my cleaning person.
I am doing so in attempts to introduce her to a family or a small office that would like a super star to take care of the cleaning services. She would be available to start in January of next year.
I have lived and worked in Buenos Aires for 4 years now. I have managed various cleaning, cooking and nanny staff here, as I secretary for a family and an office who uses these kinds of services frequently.
She has a professional background in the cleaning and service industry; she has a previous cooking and pastry background. She also nannies, including babies.
Currently she is responsible for cleaning 5 days a week a renovated 4-story building and 12-person office; also including chef and nanny work part time for the visiting family.
I personally trained her on how to manage this type of building as the furniture, floors and windows vary from antique to brand new. She is very capable and hardworking. After one month of training, she has worked on autopilot and needs no instructions except for her daily list of additional tasks that she is given from time to time.
She commutes one hour each way every day, is never late. She has uniforms to wear if you require.
I am the manager to this office and building, she has made my job easier by knowing how to do her job. She even remembers how I take my coffee and hands it to me every morning when I sit down at my desk.
If you would like more information about her services, please contact me.

Nanny available
we LOVE jimena and felt so lucky to have had her babysit during the six months we lived in buenos aires in 2008. she took care of our son, milo, one afternoon and one evening a week, and we have only the most positive things to say about her. she’s very warm and loving. she’s extremely dependable and punctual. she’s fun and funny. she’s intelligent. she’s very considerate. she’s understanding and understands children and their temperaments (she has two sons of her own who are incredibly sweet). she would always allow milo’s imagination to take the lead and she would willingly play along. and her english is perfect (she used to live in oakland, california).
we highly recommend jimena. she was not only a great babysitter, but was also a really good friend (and still is). i know how hard it is to find someone you feel comfortable with, in every way, to care for your child, especially in a place you may not be familiar with. with jimena you will never have to worry and you’ll know your child is in the hands of someone very, very special. we feel very lucky to have had jimena in our life. we miss her!

To Whom It May Concern:
Jimena Lurbe cared for our daughter Esme for five months, from January to May of 2008, during our stay in wonderful Buenos Aires. Arriving in a foreign country, where one of us (the mom) didn’t speak the language, we were nervous about finding a childcare provider whom we could trust. Additionally, Esme, who was eighteen months old at the time, had come out of a prolonged transition period of much travel and multiple babysitters, and so was feeling standoffish toward strangers. But within minutes of meeting Jimena, Esme was laughing and playing and wanting Jimena to hold her. (This was after a 17 hour flight!) We hired her on the spot.
Jimena has a rare gift with children. She knows how to engage and interest them, whether they are one, five or ten; she knows how to set limits and ensure their safety; and, especially important, she knows how to make them feel loved. She has a great attitude about work: she would arrive and leave with a smile on her face, and Esme would be delighted to see her come and sad to see her go. When she would take Esme to the playground, Jimena gave constant, caring attention, and always sought creative ways to instruct her. As a mother of two sons and a highly experienced childcare provider, she could always be counted on to take Esme somewhere that would benefit her, not just pass the time. She often made suggestions about special places that both Esme and we would enjoy. She really is a font of wisdom about Buenos Aires, and a young, fun person to have around.
Jimena initially spoke English with Esme to establish their relationship, but soon was teaching her Spanish, and by the time we left Esme could understand both languages, and spoke her few dozen castellano words like a porten~a! (Incidentally, Jimena speaks English better than 99% of the Argentines with whom we interacted.) In her time in the States, she learned a good deal about American attitudes about child-rearing, and she shared our outlook on parenting styles: natural or organic foods whenever possible, lots of outdoor time, creative play, no television, and constant engagement with books and reading. What’s more, she is 100% trustworthy.
By the time we left Buenos Aires, we came to think of Jimena and her two lovely sons (10 and 6) as part of our family. We were really very sorry to leave, and especially to leave her.
In. case it’s not clear, we recommend Jimena to you warmly and without reservation. If you should have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
With best wishes,
Bliss Broyard and Nico Israel
Jimena worked with my family on two separate occasions: May 07 for 6 weeks, and Dec. 07 for 4 weeks. The fact that we asked her back for our second stay should be testament to our trust, admiration and reliance on Jimena's reliability, care, joy and overall grounded- ness. We are moving down to BA for one year/18 mo. in Oct. and hope she'll be available to be with us then too. Outside of GREAT childcare for my two daughters (aged 8 mo. and 2 1/2), Jimena helped my husband and I navigate business related to our recent house purchase (auto debit for bills, basic technical translation w/ construction crew, etc.). She came to our house M-F, and at least once a week we'd have her stay into night so my husband and I could go out. On this past stay, she was also generous and available to help my husband's mother navigate her two week "tour" of the city, with recommendations/suggestions/advice.When we left in December, we asked Jimena to stay at our house for basic security, and to oversee some last work details as we prepped the house for rental until we return in Oct. We try to talk every couple days, and those conversations are always full of laughter, and sometimes tears for missing each other. Our oldest daughter asks after Jimena's sons, and I know we've formed a long term relationship. If you'd like to call, to further this reference and hear me gush further, I'm available at 718 832 3279/ 917 664 6250 or my e-mail rebel526@earthlink.net . I know Chara (other reference) will chime in with a longer relationship.
All my best,
Kelly Miller

Hola, After a year and a half in Buenos Aires I’m sad to say that our time here has come to an end. WE wanted to let you know about the availability of a young woman who we’ve been working with since we arrived here if you are looking for a nanny or assistant during your visit in Argentina. We were lucky enough to have found Jimena Lurbe only weeks after arriving here in Buenos Aires. With two children we were looking for a baby sitter, but we ended up with much much more. Jimena speaks fluent English and spent four years working in northern California as a nanny. During the last year and a half she has worked for us full time as a nanny and assistant (dealing with everything from travel arrangements to doctor appointments to restaurant bookings). She has excellent references from all of her previous employers (us included) and is 100% trustworthy and reliable (we have left our children in her care on numerous occasions while we left the country for business and pleasure). Jimena enjoys working with English speakers and is seeking full-time, part-time or occasional employment with English speaking ex-pats and visitors. Born and raised in Buenos Aires, she knows the city and how to get things done here. And like us, we know that there are many visiting families who have no other contacts than those from the rental agency and so have no other way of finding reliable baby-sitting or assistance with day to day things. If you have any questions about her availability or rates please contact Jimena directly at: 156 242 1751 or her email address is jimenalurbe@hotmail.com For references or any other questions please feel free to contact us via email chara@turtleroad.com or by telephone at +1 718 398 8426(US number). Jimena can also provide additional personal and employment references.
Regards, Chara Caruthers

RE: Professional Evaluation for Ms. Jimena Lurbe
Jimena was our nanny during our 6 month stay in Buenos Aires. Our girls were 2 and 4.
During Jimena’s employment with us we observed the following positive professional characteristics:
1) Jimena was super easy to train. She is a mother herself and an extremely well experienced nanny that already knows the ropes. She learns fast and will immediately adopt instructions even if they are contrary to her ways. Children quickly warmed up to her as she refused to end her work session without giving the children an opportunity to have a good laugh and play.
2) Jimena loves children and was able to enjoy her work with us because of that. She is young in her heart and is able to relate to children well. She enjoys going to children’s parks, playgrounds and will be very proactive there. She enjoys children’s books and activities. She treats children with respect and as if they are adults.
3) Our children were always safe with Jimena. Jimena would carry Lara everywhere if the environments were not fully hazard free. She always kept the children at arms length and we managed to get through Lara’s most challenging age (safety wise) without any injuries. Jimena was also responsible to always report even any small falls or mishaps even mosquito bites.
4) Jimena is a good disciplinarian in her own less direct way. She has good intuition and knows how to balance love and discipline. She was able to well counterbalance our toddler’s challenging mission on pushing boundaries too. Our children were always well behaved when with Jimena and that made our time alone with them also more enjoyable as they followed the rules that Jimena has set for them.
5) Jimena’s most admirable characteristic, (even beyond a profession with children) is her ability to be efficient. If you tell Jimena what your final goal is, she will get you there in a fastest possible manner without jeopardizing quality. Jimena is an intelligent lady (in street smart way) and she quickly figures out what is asked of her and how she can help you achieve your goals even beyond.
6) Jimena loves to teach children and she spent numerous hours reading to our children. In 6 months, our children started understanding Spanish thanks to Jimena’s persistence in talking Spanish to them at all times. As a result, both girls now have inhibited love for foreign languages and reading;
7) Jimena is punctual, responsible and will live up to her word. She was frugal with our money as if it was hers.
8) Jimena is a good team player. She got along well with other house staff and coordinated with them to make sure that the house is always clean. Jimena is well organized and she is capable in the kitchen and cleaning in general.
We enjoyed Jimena’s employment with us. Our children love Jimena and still talk about her. Our family keeps in touch with hers and we hope to have the opportunity to employ her again if and when we go to Buenos Aires.
For any further questions, please feel free to contact me or my husband.
Sincerely,
Dragana and Clayton Lewis
