The popularity of the breed took its toll, and in 1839 the royal stud was closed. The breeding of Frederiksborgers continued with private breeders, though the needs of the people reshaped the horse to some degree. Instead of a luxury item, the horses were redirected to be more suitable for the stagecoach and agricultural work. This breeding aim, which corresponded to similar changes among the other heavy warmblood breeds, continued until the mid-20th century when the demand for riding horses skyrocketed. The modern Danish Warmblood often traces back to the Frederiksborger through the female lines, though the pedigrees of these horses are mostly German. Nevertheless, as the Danish breeders made use of German and Swedish horses, some part-Frederiksborger mares made their way back into the breeding population. Maykop ox and the half-Shagya Magyar both stood in Denmark, and have descendants in the Frederiksborger population. So to do the Holsteiner Manfreid (Markgraf), Swedish Rousseau (Herzog), and the Hanoverians Atlantic (Abglanz), Ergo (Abendjaeger), and Boheme (Bolero). Otherwise, the Frederiksborger has been pure-bred for the past century, which accounts for their uniform type.

James Dean Framed Prints For Sale (Buffalo, NY)

Was cleaning out the attic recently and came across these framed James Dean prints I completely forgot about. They're in really good shape considering they've been in storage for the past 6 years and I've cleaned them up pretty well but not perfectly. Ideally I'd like $40 apiece for each one but I'm more than willing to negotiate a price--especially if you wanted all 3 of them in one shot.

The top one measures about 30.5 x 22 inches, the bottom left measures about 24 x 20.5 inches and the bottom right one is about 28 x 20.5 inches. The 1st and 3rd ones came from the WB store (yeah, they're old...) and have reasonably sturdy and well-built frames. The 2nd one came from a print shop and has a much sturdier frame. I realize the picture is kind of bad (the top frame doesn't bow like it does in the picture and I do not live in an opium den) but if you'd like to take a look at them in real life I'm around most days until about 3 and a better part of the day on weekends. This piece of fabric came from the home of an accomplished seamstress. A great retro print in browns,bronzes and green, it measures 40 inches wide by 3.75 yards long. No markings that I can see. The back of the fabric has some faded areas but they do not show on the fabric front. It's been stored for many years and does have a musty odor, but I will leave laundering to the buyer. It's a nicely-weighted cotton!
