ListSafer.com provides a ratings and reviews platform for classified ads sites such as Craigslist.org, OLX.com and Kijiji.com. ListSafer.com seeks to solve issues related to an increase in identity theft, scams, and violence on classifieds sites by building a platform that allows buyers and sellers to post ratings and reviews on their experiences on these sites. Therefore, potential buyers and sellers will be able to view each other’s ratings and reviews before entering into a transaction, making the whole process safer and reducing fraud.

ListSafer.com provides a seller with an html badge that can easily be placed into their listings on sites like Craiglist.org. This badge provides a summary of the seller, including the seller’s photo, name, location, overall rating and total number of reviews received. Potential buyers can view this or click through to read the reviews posted to the seller’s profile located on ListSafer’s site. If the buyer likes what he sees he can click on the “Place Bid” button located on the badge and place a bid on the item being sold.

Sellers can then log into ListSafer.com and review all the bids from buyers, and for those buyers who have used ListSafer.com before, sellers can see ratings and reviews they have received for past transactions. We are currently running 2 contests for rap/hiphop artists and Rock/alternative bands - entirely two different contests so read carefully!!!! WINNER WINS FREE STUDIO TIME!!

1. Rap/hiphop Recording Contest-
We are having a contest looking for your best freestyle. We want you to come to our studio and record one song with us (free of charge).
Here’s the catch…. We supply all of you with one beat. We press record once for your entry (at our recording studio located in downtown buffalo). This is a freestyle contest so come with your “A” game. If you would like a copy of your entry, it is $5/cd. Winner will receive 2 free hours of recording time with our house engineers. Once the winner is chosen, a date and time to come record with us is expected to be made with in 30 days of when we chose the winner. Winner is expected to be on time as per scheduled date and time. If you pick 5pm on Dec 10th, we start at 5pm on Dec 10th or whatever date and time you chose. Winners are based the poles on our myspace page (myspace.com/studiob716). We will track one song in 5 hours and we will do a rough mix that day for about 1 hour - or you can choose to pay for more mixing time. Come with $100. If you would like a copy if your entry, it is an additional $5/cd.
Your entry will then be submitted on myspace and we will leave it up to the myspace voters so see who wins! Winner will receive 4 hours of free studio time!
We are looking for raw talent! Who is the best band without using auto-tune and heavy sampling? Are their artists out there anymore that have natural talent? SHOW US!!!
Rules:

Ashlea Jonesmith learned to read, write and take a beating from her peers at Monk Public School in the small town of Bracebridge, Ontario. While the other kids were playing dodge ball and kissing tag, Ashlea Jonesmith was writing songs on Ninja Turtle paper, in an abandoned tree fort behind her elementary school. She wrote songs instead of research papers, and she wrote songs instead of math equations, and when she got in trouble for it, she wrote songs.

The summer before High School began, Ashlea picked up the guitar and asked her father to teach her a few chords. Over the next two years she shoved her nerves into her back pocket and performed her original tunes at as many coffee houses, school assemblies and town events as possible.

In 1998, at the age of 15, Ashlea went to an audition and was chosen among several other singers, many of whom were twice her age, to perform at Mariposa Folk Festival, which was held in Muskoka that year. And so she did, and with that vote of confidence she went on to play at other festivals, fairs, restaurants and eventually bars and pubs around Toronto, Muskoka and other parts of Ontario.

The years went by and after recording many tracks on home made studio setups, Ashlea, now living in Toronto, met Jamie Matsukubo of MatchVox Studio in Toronto, Ontario. Jamie, a producer and engineer, and Dan Blair, the owner of MatchVox, heard Ashlea’s home recordings and offered her a recording deal that she couldn’t refuse. A few months later, in March 2008, Ashlea released the album, The Things That Stay With Me. The album consisted of ten choice songs written over the past seven years, all of which represented significant occurrences in Ashlea’s personal and political history.

For over a year Ashlea performed Toronto and Muskoka venues, promoting her album. In 2009 Ashlea wrote the song “If You Go It Alone” which quickly became a favorite among her listeners. Ashlea, now living and working back home in Bracebridge, decided to record the song at home at have it mixed and mastered by Jamie Matsukubo. Ashlea tacked that recording on to her album as a secret song for fans who purchase the album at shows.

In the mean time, Ashlea completed, in good standing, a diploma in Metal Art at Kootenay School of the Arts in Nelson, BC, and an Undergrad degree at York University in Toronto Ontario. (Those elementary school grades mattered not, and Ashlea vows never to give her kids trouble about their sixth-grade report cards.) Ashlea and her partner in both life and music, Oliver Heywood-Jones were married in summer 2008 in the hay field behind the farmhouse where Ashlea grew up.

In January 2010, Ashlea and Oliver are set to tour from Ontario to the West Coast where they will stay and make themselves local.

Ashlea Jonesmith has been compared in “move over …” lines to such artists at Joni Mitchell, Sarah McLaughlan and Sheryl Crow, and perhaps more appropriately to Sarah Harmer, Kathleen Edwards and Natalie Mains of The Dixie Chicks. Ashlea Jonesmith mixes the sounds of traditional North American folk music with the current vibes of alt-country and indie pop-rock.
