Mommy Group (WNY)

BUFFALOMOMMIES.COM

As part of The Mommies Network, BuffaloMommies.com is a free community for moms in Buffalo and surrounding areas, New York. We realize that all moms need local support -- and who can't use another friend? BuffaloMommies.com offers a simple way to connect with local moms for friendship, support and fun. Members meet on our private discussion forums to share information on everything from where to get the best haircut to tips on transitioning to a "big kid" bed. Each month, we also offer many face-to-face events for our members, their children and their families. Register today to access our discussion forums, events calendar and more! It's free and we'll keep your info secure and private.

About BuffaloMommies

MISSION
To provide a safe, secure, FREE place for mothers to find support and encouragement from other mothers and to empower them to be better women, parents and community leaders.

PHILOSOPHY
No one should have to pay a fee to make a friend, so we offer free membership to any mother within the community who wishes to join. Members gain camaraderie and support through an online forum that is available 24 hours a day and events around the area where mothers can meet face-to-face and develop real friendships that can last a lifetime.

We believe that, working together, mothers can change the world - one family, one neighborhood, one community at a time. BuffaloMommies is a connecting force, helping us each to make a difference in our own lives, in our families and in the places we call home.

ABOUT US
BuffaloMommies was founded by Helene Perez after moving to the Buffalo area in 2006. In her old hometown, she had been a part of a sister community, HudsonValleyMommies, and missed the support and friendship she had found now that she was in a new city. BuffaloMommies gives moms in and around Buffalo the opportunity to meet one another, form lasting friendships and support one another on the road of motherhood.

We chat online in a private forum - discussing everything from the best photographers to the worst temper tantrums and all that lies between - and meet-up regularly at member-driven events around town. Whether it's a late night commiseration on a crying baby (there are 4 am posts to prove it) or a Mom's Night Out, BuffaloMommies provides what our members need, when and how they need it.

But BuffaloMommies is more than just a community of moms. It's moms in and for the community. Our members work full time, stay home full time, work part time, represent many races, are pregnant for the first time, are adoptive moms, were adopted themselves, recently moved to the area, have lived here all our lives, have twins, are happy with one, are single moms, are searching out schools and have watched their kids graduate. In other words, we are a reflection of mothers in the real world. And we help out our neighbors as much as ourselves through organized fundraisers and other charity events - specifically those focused on providing for mothers and their children.

Video Gamers Group (Buffalo region)

Looking to start a video gamers group, I live in Lockport, and am willing to be one of I hope many hosts. I own a ps3, xbox360 elite, and a Wii system, as well a high end laptop Gateway 17" FX. So I am wired for all types video game systems. Part of the reason I want to start this group is to make it a fun educational experience only in that we can learn from one another about all the varied services that each game system provides, requirements, etc. I'm 42 married, and currently attending college at ECC but will probably be changing that to NCC next semester. I just would like this to fun yet respectful as well because I will welcome all types to join. Age will be most generally be between 14 on up, however will consider 12 & 13 year old dependent on maturity. Anyone wishing to host a meet must have a clean environment, and 2 bathrooms would be great, lol. I'm thinking the meets could be monthly, or bi-monthly. Girls are also very welcome too, I know there are a lot more girls these days into video games that can really kick butt. Which would lead me to my next request that the girls who may attend are completely treated with the utmost respect. Another item I'd like to bring up is snacks and drinks, no alcoholic beverages will be allowed of course because of possible minors present, no drugs, of course either. Once the meets get under way please do not come under the influence as well, this may lead to bad behavior and a mandatory request to leave will be enforced. As far as cost of said beverages, and snacks I was thinking of having a $5.00 kitty collected at each meet and then would be given to whomever would host the following meet and so on. I would be willing to host the first meet, and initially provide foods, and beverages. Anyone would be welcome to bring laptops, as well as printed, and or intel on a laptop to share with group about up coming games, website links, etc. Whomever may be interested in joining I'm sure would want this to be an enjoyable experience for everyone included, I shouldn't have to make mention of this but you just never know so please come to meets considering personal hygiene has been taken care of previously to showing up. There will be no club membership fee's, only the $5.00 which again would be towards snack kitty. If you find this group type to be of interest to you please email or call 716-319-4840, ty.

NA for younger people? (Buffalo)

Does anyone know of any NA meetings geared toward younger people? Say 18 to 35. I have been going to NA meeting lately and honestly feel kinda out of touch with the people there. I think what they are doing is great but I feel it would be easier to open up around people my own age. If no one knows of such a group would anyone be interested in trying to start a group like that? I am a 25 year old musician that is struggling with staying clean and honestly need help. I know the older people in the groups have a lot of advice to offer, but I just don't feel comfortable in groups like that. Please reach out if you know anything or are interested in talking about trying to get something together. I know a lot of people that could use a lot of help and they all feel the same way I do. Thanks.

Bless you all for putting out these resources!”

Vegan? Vegetarian? Concerned about animal welfare? Join us! (Buffalo)

Looking to start a group of those who live consciously, who give thought to their actions and seek to impose as little of themselves on the natural world as possible. Living as a vegan or vegetarian in this city can be difficult and somewhat isolating...it'd be nice to encounter the like-minded individuals amongst us! Let's just share a meal and our thoughts, experiences, opinions and see if we can harness energy amongst ourselves to possibly take action to live boldly and "create the change we want to see".

Let me know if you're interested - email and we'll go from there!

Orthodox Mission Forming (Allentown)

We are a mission of the Russian Orthodox Church in America (ROCIA).

All are welcomed to follow the Dance that Jesus leads. We are conservative in our Orthopraxis and our sacred Theology, we our progressive in our stance on Social Justice.

Currently we are meeting in a private home. All who are interested are welcomed: you may learn some Orthodox chanting, join in a discussion of the Eastern Tradition or participate in any way you feel comfortable. We have monthly discussion groups as well as week-day morning prayers and meditations.

If you feel you've been rejected by another community - for whatever reason -you will find God's welcome here. We are all recipients of God's grace together and seek to share it as our only way of giving thanks.

For more information - service times, etc - call Fr Huw: 716/462.5647

Visit the mission's website for more information, for sermons, etc. We also have a Facebook group.. You may find information about our Orthodox Jurisdiction on the Church's website.

WoW Guild Recruiting for Western New Yorkers (Western NY)

My buddy and I decided to start a guild for western new yorkers. We are on the Scilla server and right now it's just the two of us. We decided that we didn't like the way a lot of the guilds currently operate and want to make a much more fun guild. Our goal is 40 regular players that will be raiding at least 1 night a week. No minimum level or gear score required, we just want some local people to guild up with. We currently have between us a level 80 warrior, druid, paladin and warlock. We are also in the process of leveling a rogue and mage. Our ultimate goal is to be ready for Cataclysm's release to be able to participate in the guild progression stuff. We need at least 20 regular players to score proper guild points. Shoot us an email if you're interested. Have a good day.

Has anyone been in jail/prison before and are now out,but still --- (WESTERN NEW YORK)

Hi to all. Here is the deal. I am approaching 42 years of age and a few years ago had alot. Tons of money,a business and was building wealth for my family. I got caught up in the "ego thing',and lost track of what was really important. I since then have lost many $100,000 of dollars, my reputation, went to jail for a shorterm and now am convicted felon(white collar crime).I have never ever done drugs in my 42 years on this earth, I have never laid my hands on anyone either . I am just looking for people who have one thru this, would like to get together for a "no holds barred coffee/friendship,etc.. and see how we can help each other. I just need to talk freely to others who are open minded. I had a great upbringing and have been told, I am 1 of the nicest/caring people they have ever met.

I am looking to get back into business again, and trust me,the next person who I go into business with, will see the real me,as I have been told also I have the potential to make unlimited income, its just that 2nd chance in life,we all look forward to.

Thank You for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

PS.
Even my boss at work knows the real me,and even saved my job for me, while I was away, and I didnt even know that. I actually thought I lost my job
