New York is # 1
New York state is number 1 in a lot of the wrong things.
I wrote a blog post about how to reform our overpaid, dysfunctional government in Albany.
http://www.teddersrandomnotes.com/blog/2009/02/21/reforming-albany/
Did you know that the NYS Capitol in Albany, pictured below, was the most expensive building constructed in the United States in the 19th century?
Petition against the UN Small Arms Treaty
Ultimately, the UN’s Small Arms Treaty is designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms owned by private citizens like YOU
.
http://www.nagr.org/UNpetition1.aspx?pid=2
To my United States Senators:
Whereas: The Obama Administration just announced they would be working with the United Nations to pass a new “Small Arms Treaty;” and
Whereas: The UN’s “Small Arms Treaty” is nothing more than a massive GLOBAL gun control scheme, designed to register, ban and CONFISCATE firearms from law-abiding citizens; and
Whereas: The new treaty will likely be designed to FORCE national governments to enact tougher licensing requirements, making law-abiding citizens cut through even more bureaucratic red tape just to buy a firearm legally; and
Whereas: The United Nation’s “Small Arms Treaty” would also likely ban the trade, sale and private ownership of ALL semi-automatic weapons; and
Whereas: The ratification of this treaty would also likely create an international gun registry, setting the stage for full-scale gun confiscation;
Therefore: I urge you to vote AGAINST ratification of the UN’s “Small Arms Treaty.”

RE: To the Higher power (loontown)
Perhaps your problem is not with the education system, maybe it's the education system telling you something; for-example, how to explain yourself properly. Don't try to type as if you're some sophisticated English scholar, because you're not. You've posted this same nonsense several times, and no one knows what on earth you're talking about. You obviously have a hard time thinking outside the box; therefore, you think everyone is against you. You have some serious issues.
No one knows the Principle of the school you're talking about.
No one knows your problem
After typing that non-sense, no one is going to care.
But I will say this, I would be embarrassed to have you as a parent.
To The Higher Power (Byron/Bergen)
I am inquiring as to how much control a principal has regarding previous, occurring issues I did confront the principal with some parent concerns as he did state he has no involvement with concerns I have indicated. I am certain a principal has some power, unless not qualified to carry the position, I made decisions for my child and I not to have any family involvement related linked, this information was shared to my child's school, being primary parent/guardian I expect the school to honor this in which it shall not lead to any personal involvement with any school employee, to intervene, discriminate against a parent whom has sole custody of child the day of birth, following with legal documentation of court procedures recorded. I have in the past forwarded much information to the school, I acknowledge is now working against me in the sense of behind the scenes, of the government controlled corrupt politics linked in the school system.Seeking assistance much documentation on file, in regards of the above.
re:Help save convert from Radical Islam (Why?)
I think we should help all people not get involved with ANY organized religion, but encourage them to be free thinking individuals, instead of being sheep. I think all the problems in the world would dissolve if there was no such thing as organized religion.
In addition to that, would you save her if she wasn't a "christian"? What if she decided to be a pagan instead, and the story was about a convert pagan trying to escape radical Islam? Would you care then?
While you're trying to save that christian from radical Islam, I'll try my best to save people from getting involved with any sort of organized religion.
Since you don't like political correctness, I'll end this comment like this: Fuck Religion.
Help save convert from Radical Islam (Buffalo)
Rifqa Bary, a teen who was raised in a Radical Islamic family with ties to a Radical Mosque had to run away from home after converting to Christianity and her parents threatened to kill her as a result. The courts have against all reason rejected her story and have forced her back to her parents' home town in a youth facility in Franklin County, Ohio where she is nor allowed any communication with the outside world. In any other case, they would never force a 17-yr old to move back in with a family that she fears but because Radical Islam is involved, the authorities have to be "politically correct" and take the side of Radical Islam. Please help spead the word against this outrage.

RE: Why are UB students punishing each other? (Buffalo)
There's a misconception about what "rights" are, and how they're defined. This is a philosophical issue you're bringing up. Let me try to answer these questions for you, as I did my undergrad and graduate studies at two different SUNY schools.
- You're correct, you do have the right to your privacy; however, you living on campus is considered SUNY property. Campus police can come into your dorm room whenever they want if there is evidence that a campus rule is being broken. This is where you have to be smart. Even though they can search the dorm, they cannot search your property (jean pockets, bookbags, your own furniture) unless there is probable cause or a warrant. Don't get mad, be smart. Why continue to live somewhere if you don't like it? Let the school know with your wallet and live off campus.
- Smoking is another issue (which, I'm assuming, is the reason why you brought up your post.). You have the right to smoke. But can't other people have the right to decline breathing 2nd hand smoke? When your action affects someone else, it's not considered a right. Your privilege to smoke around others can only be handled with fairness, hence why they don't want people smoking in the dorm rooms. In addition to this, I'm sure you've been to large gatherings at a house where people are smoking. Then the next day your clothes smell like shit. Are you going to wash my clothes even though I wasn't the one smoking? How about this perspective: That last article you wrote, replace the word "smoke" with "drinking beer". I'm not going to get into the whole issue with drunk driving, but lets say I love to drink beer, I drink so much, I puke all the time and it eventually gets on your clothes. I have the right to drink, but am not responsible for the puke stains on your clothes? I get nauseated by cigarette smoke, and I think it's a good rule. If you had your own house, go for it. I don't care if you smoke.
You seriously need to be a bit more analytical when it comes to defining rights. Another example, I have the right to take a piss. So why I can't I take a piss on you, without me getting a lawsuit, and be charged with a misdemeanor?
There's a simple explanation: I don't care what you do, as long as it doesn't affect anyone else. If it does, there needs to be a fair consensus with the individuals living around you. This is why people in politics cry and act like whiny pieces of shit. Check your ego and your selfishness, then act.
- SUNY Schools are state subsidized. A tuition increase means nothing. You paying your $4500 tuition (+living expensis) doesn't even touch the cost of a private institution. SUNY gets the rest from NYS tax payers (another issue of "rights"). I agree some professors don't deserve their "high" salaries, unfortunately, what some SUNY schools are doing right now are ONLY hiring PHd professors, with no background in teaching. Professors at a SUNY School do not get paid as much as you think they would. New professors with a PHd will only start off anywhere between 45K-75K. Kind of shitty right? Imagine if you went to school for over 10 years, and only get paid 45K, at the end. Essentially it's like this: School wants PHd professors, but the professors with a PHd that CAN actually TEACH (after all, that's what they're there for) wants more pay. So now, the school is left with rookie teachers, or digruntled PHd assholes. Those reviews you give teachers at the end of the semester are important. Be honest, and speak with your professor at the end of the semester and let them know how they did. You'd be surprised at the number of professors who will actually take your words into consideration.
Best of Luck.
Don't know your identity, or self-image? (Then listen to oldies music)
Why accept what the media gives you? Why sit there and absorb all the negative messages of the conservative news media? Listen to 90's 80's music and free yourself! It doesn't matter who you are, or what kind of sports you watch, you can live the life you want. I think all the music today are full of messages that dumb you down and inhibit you, or allow you some freedom but not others (as in the case of Hip-Hop, and some forms of Rap), so listen to good music, doesn't matter what you are, listen to music with positive messages. Start your exploring now, be proud of yourself. Fuck politics, fuck all the stupid moral shit that T.V. is telling us, go and enjoy your life
Why are UB students punishing each other? (We can't work together)
Number One) Why is UB punishing students? Our rights are ours
Number Two) Also, Why are UB Students who are in a stronger position, pusnishing other UB students who are in a lower position?
Alas, Number Three) Why do we allow other students to do this to us? Why do YOU allow it?
I'm not into smoking, but that's not the issue, smoking is definitely not the issue here. I'm opposed to my rights being taken away by another person, (ex. other students in the Student Association who voted for this smoking ban) Your rights are the issue here, and why you let others take your rights away. Its like you letting another person steal your job, or take away your man, or girl. Or its like you letting India steal all your jobs, letting India steal the oppportunity for you to work, to have children, to raise a family, or to simply party like you are in college like the other generations have, but you let a third world country's women and men steal that precious opportunity from you. And you are sitting there reading this, and you are doing absolutely nothing about it because you might be a little dumb.
Back to Reality, You vs. UB Student Association
The students in S.A. are gone in one semester, and we're stuck with this stupid law (which the Girls and Boys at SA made) for the rest four to five years of our lives here on campus... This is completely awry, not right at all
We don't know know what the deal is here, but we do know that they, the SA UB students are doing this for selfish reasons, maybe if we accept this new University Rule, then we will accept other rules, like paying more tuition, allowing Professors and Assistant Instructors to receive salary increases, allowing Univ. Police to do whatever they want with us, and allowing more of our rights to be taken in the future. I just think that this is going to hurt all of us. Like imagine if they make a rule in the future allowing all Univ. Police officers to come into our dorm rooms whenever they want to and drag us off for smoking in our rooms.......
I also agree with being given the ability to choose for myself what I want to do, instead of a law passed by some kids that states I, and you, will never be allowed to smoke again.
I agree with giving an opinion to the ub council, and maybe going into the office of the Presidents office and voicing my concern about my rights, and everyone else's rights. We should look into this and call the school newspaper and call the UB President's office and do something about it, make yourself proud!

Emergency Room Care :Life Lines Online, 7/06
What happened to our health care system?
1) You need a health card to get free emergency care even in "advanced" socialism. Millions of illegal aliens,
poor & tightwads get it in the US - & it's the law, no accident... Like shoplifting, it drives up costs for everyone.
Obama Care wasn't going to ask if you're a citizen, let alone require it... It buys votes - at your expense...
And now BHO's Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act will let in 103 million more in the next 20 yrs.
2) Medicare fraud ONLY is BIGGER in total volume than the drug business ... Medicare & Medicaid fraud is
VERY easy & costs us $90 bill./yr. http://www.cbsnews.com/ stories/2009/10/23/60minutes/main5414390.shtml
WHY WAS FRAUD NEVER FIXED?!
3) Outrageous rewards, huge malpractice insurance rates from suits cost us $200 bill./yr. Reform would help
300 mill. people, but a Dem-controlled congress resists reforms. (Trial lawyers are BIG contributors)
:plime.com/l/133838-history/1/
Was someone trying to create a crisis? Who thinks a crisis is good? Good to bring in gov't-run health?
Upset us so badly, we'd jump at any "CHANGE" ?!
Seeking business partner to change politics
I am looking to join forces with a dedicated, savvy business partner (or partners) to help in the creation of a nonpartisan website filled with powerful tools aimed at assisting those who may not have the time or desire to follow politics in making more informed voting decisions quickly, easily, and most importantly, confidently. I have numerous ideas for how this goal can best be achieved, and I strongly believe that with the right resources and dedication, such a website could make significant strides towards engaging voters, informing them, and promoting the changes they want to see through their votes. Voters will come to see this website as a useful tool in the process of deciding for whom they will vote, and as more users begin to trust in our vision and their results, this website will also become self-sustaining and lucrative for investors. Specifically, I am looking for someone who has knowledge of how to successfully start and run a business, as I do not have experience in this area. You will be the one steering the helm of the business so that these ideas and goals can come to fruition.
As we all know, people live busy lives, and many simply do not have the time or energy to devote to following politics. It can be overwhelming to try and make sense of all of the conflicting information that can surround just one single political race, let alone trying to keep track of the many races whose outcomes will affect a person during a given election cycle. There are people whose only exposure to the candidates in a particular race has come from listening to the campaign ads of the candidates. If this is all a person has to base their decision on, they are clearly missing out on a lot of information that may change their views on who their best candidate is considerably. I know that this happens, because I myself am guilty for having pulled the lever for a candidate that I admittedly knew very little about. I believe that by giving these people who do genuinely care about their communities and country a simpler, bias-free way to learn about which candidate is likely to best meet the needs that they deem important, we can help to severely limit the amount of "knee-jerk" voting that occurs in this country. This would clearly benefit everyone, by providing us with a more balanced, and representative democracy.
That said, the end result becomes more than just helping people to make a less clouded decision. The true end result is that we are helping people become more interested and involved in the political process by allowing users to weed out the irrelevant political "garbage" that is a turn-off for so many voters. A large part of this result will be attributable to our dedication to presenting voters with a website that is as nonpartisan as possible. Our transparency will benefit everyone.
The idea is simple, and I will gladly provide a written proposal with details on how the tools included in the website will work to those who are seriously interested in making a difference in the lives of voters in this country.
Please contact me at the email address provided if you are interested. Serious inquiries only, please.
RE*2:Defining Religion in US Constitution (All)
- Treaty of Tripoli, 1796, Signed by James Madison, voted unanimous by a Senate vote.
Piss lousy example to reinforce your bias.
Treaty was signed under force of arms to free slaves held by the Bey of Algiers.
If the US had an adequate Navy @ the time it would never have been signed.
They all signed it because if any one had failed to sign it that would have amounted to the political death of all the others
and possibly despotic rule by the lone hold out.
You example explains why a military sufficient to project power around the globe is necessary & why the Navy
needs littoral capacity. It has precisely nothing to do with ethics (except possibly being an example of how
even good men can be cynical & sometimes political expediency prevails over wisdom)
RE:Defining Religion in US Constitution (All)
Really? The US was founded as a christian nation, huh? How's this get you:
Art. 11. As the Government of the United States of America is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian religion; as it has in itself no character of enmity against the laws, religion, or tranquility, of Mussulmen; and, as the said States never entered into any war, or act of hostility against any Mahometan nation, it is declared by the parties, that no pretext arising from religious opinions, shall ever produce an interruption of the harmony existing between the two countries.
- Treaty of Tripoli, 1796, Signed by James Madison, voted unanimous by a Senate vote.
And, since you know the US Constitution so well, you also know that International Treaties carry the full force of federal law.
Murder of Abortion Doctor (Buffalo)
Recognizing that abortion is a divisive issue, the government should maintain its independence, allowing individuals to make their own conscientious considerations regarding abortion. While government should refrain from abortion involvement, it must continue to protect the rights of individuals to make such choices. Unfortunately, some individuals continue to use violence to try and solve social issues. It is deeply saddening that controversial abortion doctor, George Tiller, was shot to death during Sunday morning service in the foyer of Wichita’s Reformation Lutheran Church.
