I recently posted in the missed connections section about a bad time with a "big girl". Since posting, I have received many emails regarding my obvious "shallowness".
I will now set the record straight. I am sure I speak for all beautiful people out there....for all those people that don't have the guts or ability to say what is on their mind for fear of offending someone.

I am so sick an tired of fat people taking their obvious self-loathing out on people like me. For some reason, these useless eaters feel it is their God given right to tell us beautiful people just how shallow we are. How fat people are somehow better lovers than weight/height proportionate people. That I am somehow an asshole because I am skinny and just don't find fat people attractive. I will clue you fat asses in on a few things from the beautiful side of life.

First, I am sick of hearing that it's not your fault. That somehow, while you are sleeping, little "fat gnomes" inject you with fat or something. Are you serious....what a lame attempt at hiding the fact that you just can't, or won't stop eating ice cream while sitting on your fat lazy asses watching CSI. While you are gorging on pizza and fried food, us beautiful people are hard at work jogging, working out, or doing some form of exercise besides walking to the refrigerator for more food.

I do not understand where you are coming from. If you do not respect yourself enough to lose some damn weight, then how can you expect people like me to respect you?
It is not my fault that whatever issues you have make you eat so damn much. We all have our own bag of rocks to carry....get over it. I'm sick of hearing that you are "big and beautiful"! That is an oxymoron you obese cow!! You say you don't care what people think of you....that is an outright LIE. We all crave acceptance. That is just your way of justifying eating so damn much.

It is not attractive to take a fat girl into the bedroom and have her sweating like a fucking pig.....and that's just from the walk there. It is not attractive to see your ugly stomach hanging out of the bottom of your shirt. Cankles, double chins, and sweatpants are also very unattractive. Yet, us beautiful people are all supposed to just lower our standards because you have a nice personality.

It is not our fault that you cannot control yourself. We would also like to eat pizza every night and bacon every morning....but we don't because we are trying not to be like you.

Personally, I feel that all fat people should just be put on an island somewhere so that they could just eat themselves to death. No matter how you rationalize it....you are all ugly. There is just no such thing as a hot fat person.
I am in no way insinuating that I am Gods gift or anything. I'm just trying to figure out why it is so wrong for me to not give a fat cow the time of day, and because I choose not to...the fat cows all start bleeting that I am an asshole.

Get over yourselves. You are in no way attractive no matter what you think as you look in the mirror or buy your size 16 jeans at your local Wal -Mart.
It seems that us skinny beautiful people are your type, so why not do something about your fatness, become beautiful, and live a life that doesn't involve pounding food all damn day.

I didn't write this, but god damn if it isn't right on. For all you who frequent bars in the city: PLEASE READ THIS! It will save both of us a long night someday.....

I am a doorman at a neighborhood bar. This is not a high-security establishment. There are no earpieces or metal detectors. Just me, a bar stool, and my crossword puzzle. It's my job to sit here for 10 hours straight and make sure that everyone in here has an ID and that it isn't expired. The pay sucks and it's boring as hell but hey I'm getting paid to do crossword puzzles and I now get the hookup whenever I come here. If you've never done it before, here are some things you might not know about how to interact with guys like me...


It's not up to me.

That's the biggest A number 1 thing you need to keep in mind. I hate the whole ID thing just as much as you do. It's stupid and Orwellian and total overkill. I believe that anyone reasonably 21 looking should be able to get a beer no questions asked and no hassle. But this is America, and I don't think we ever really got over prohibition. You have MADD and the "think of the children" brigade to thank for the police state conditions at your favorite watering hole. The teetotallers keep crying that it needs to be harder for kids to get alcohol, and the fines keep going up, and the bars keep getting more paranoid. We hear horror stories of ABC coming into a bar and carding everyone inside, then when someone doesn't have it, the bar gets shut down, fined tens of thousands of dollars, and the entire staff goes to jail for the weekend. It is fucking ridiculous but unfortunately it's what we have hanging over our heads, so no I can't let you in even though you're bald, even though your expired license still has your birthday, even though you have to go back so far to get it, even though you just got your wallet stolen, even though it's risky to carry your passport, it's not going to happen. I'm sorry. If it were up to me I would, but it isn't, so please don't keep arguing with me. You could talk to the manager but he'll just tell you the same thing, and I can't leave my post to go get him anyway.

This all goes triple for you, Mr. Law-School. No I can't quote the alcohol laws from memory, all I know is that they're designed to instill a culture of fear in barstaff across the city and they're working. If you're such a fucking hotshot why don't you go argue with the alcohol control board and help us all out.

So yeah it sucks but there's nothing any of us can do about it. Just get used to it. Have your ID. Have it out. Show it to me. Go drink. I know you're 25 and your job sucks and you feel old and you're so sick of getting carded, but it's happening. Buck up, kiddo: You're still young. Maybe you're 40 and it really is ridiculous I'm carding you. I think so too. A more accurate statement is it's ridiculous the city is making the bar make me card you. Sorry. Just let me see it and don't be an asshole about it. And don't quiz me on it to try to prove I didn't really look. I don't memorize shit, and I don't do the math. I look for a number below 1986, a number above 2007, and match the photo. Nice and efficient. You've succeeded in proving only that you are a prick.

It's not up to me. Remember that and you and I are going to get along 1000% better. After that there's really just a couple pet peeves that I'd like to ask you to work on...


Don't count on being a regular.

You used to come here all the time. You totally know the owner, what's his name, Dave. Where's the usual door guy? He got fired, and unfortunately for you this high-turnover position doesn't come with a list of regulars and their head shots. If you come here so much it shouldn't be so hard to figure out when a doorman is new. You should have your ID anyway. Show it to me, and if you're so proud of being a regular, introduce yourself, but don't be surprised if it takes a few times to really remember. Again if you're such a barfly you should understand that by now.


Don't tell me where the fucking birthdate is.

Even with an ID from a state I don't see too often, I've probably already found it and I'm looking for the expiration date, or I'm double checking something that looks odd to me. I'm not an idiot and you'll get your beer in a second. Chill the fuck out.


Don't try to be funny.

Every ten minutes, some idiot makes the "oh don't let my friend in she has a fake" joke as if I've never heard it before. I usually joke back "you know this is like the airport, I have to take that seriously." Eventually I'm going to just go ahead and not let your friend in. Consider yourself warned. ...and not funny.


I don't remember you.

I see hundreds of faces every night. Each for only a couple seconds. If you come outside for a smoke or a phone call, don't breeze past me and then be shocked when I ask to see your ID again, especially if you left it inside. Simple solution: just be a good sport and show it to me again. If that's really such a big deal to you, a simple "hey I left my ID inside and I'm stepping out for a second" as you come out the door is usually all it takes to actually get you remembered.


Don't ask me what it's like inside.

I'm stuck here. Depending on my mood and my first impression of you, some smalltalk from a stray smokebreaker is either a welcome distraction or a major annoyance. Like most social interactions, you're gonna have to read between the lines and figure out what's appropriate. If I put down my book/crossword puzzle/gameboy/whatever and engage the conversation, you're in. If I keep giving you one word answers and going back to whatever I was doing, go bother someone else. Also, if I'm obviously injured, please don't ask what I did to my arm. I'm already sick of telling my friends the same story. I definitely don't want to repeat it for hundreds of strangers. And don't you dare try to help with my crossword unless you're cute and you're trying to sleep with me.

Why is it some of the smartest people can't do the simplest things.
I finally decided there are some definite parallells between Level of intellegince measured thru tests.
And lack of intelligence measured thru ability.

Find the smartest guy you know.
Show him a large pile of lumber, he can tell you where it came from, how the tree grew, what people do with it..........
Give him a hammer.
He'll tell you how it works, give you mathematical formula's why it works, it's history, how to build a better one, etcetera.
Give him a box of nails, tape measure, a saw

What happens?
Invariably, He'll sit on the pile of wood holding the hammer, staring at the box of nails and the tools.

They all seem to have some level of "Sauvant syndrome" going on.

With most communication seems to be their poorest ability.

IQ is a trait. It's like eye color. It doesn't predict success, except that smart people have more to work with. It also means they have more to screw up. It isn't fair to say high IQ people are "always" jobless, but I've seen it too. My oldest brother has had several really good, secure jobs pretty much handed to him, jobs people would kill for nowadays, and managed to get fired from every one. He wasn't overqualified for the jobs. He wasn't underqualified either. He pissed them off. He acted inappropriately. Job after job. After awhile it became obvious it's not them, it's him.

Even if you don't have psychological problems, having a job means having a boss. If your IQ was 180 and your boss' was 110, there would be times when the boss is probably wrong about something, and you know it, and you can't do anything about it. The boss is smart enough to be secure in his opinion and able to make a good case for it, but he's still wrong. Maybe he asks for your input, maybe he doesn't. Maybe he values it, maybe not. In the end, he does it his way. That's his right; he's the boss. Maybe you see how this is bad for business. Maybe you see the boss being paid a lot more for accomplishing a lot less than you might, if you were in his shoes. You can't do anything about that, either.

Maybe you live with it. Maybe you do something stupid. Maybe you do something smart. How you react has more to do with personality than IQ.

Who knows? Maybe the boss with his 110 IQ is right after all, and you're being stubborn because you think your 180 IQ makes every single idea brilliant. The odds may be with you, but when highly intelligent people do screw up it can be epic. If you lose sight of the fact that 110 is still the one who signs 180's paycheck...well that's not very bright, is it?

What to do? Being that smart doesn't mean you should go into business for yourself. Maybe you have the skills, maybe you don't. Maybe you just don't want to be bothered. If you suspect any of the above has anything to do with why your friend can't keep a job, maybe he needs to try working way outside of his area of expertise. The difference between his 180 and somebody else's 110 won't matter if it's obvious to him that they know what they're doing and he doesn't. If he likes the people and likes the job, maybe a situation like that will help him to check his IQ at the door until they're ready to promote him.

I may be able to shed some light on your question. Individuals who have very high IQ's are generally very challenged when it comes to communication skills with everyday people. Communication skills are a requirement for being a productive member of any team. If your manager and co-workers resent you because you have a "I'm smarter than you are" attitude then your employment potential is very limited. I was lucky because I was involved with computers and management at IBM realized that their top computer scientists did not "play well" with the rest of the workforce so they gave us our own labs, let us manage ourselves and pampered us. Very few employment fields are afforded this luxury. It took me 30 years to develop reasonable communication skills. I used to be a total ass... (now I'm just a partial one) I'm somewhat surprised at the amount of chatter about me from so few posts.

Is it true that persons with IQs considered high are usually jobless? I think it is true. I know someone who I consider to have a very high IQ and he is always jobless. He is a very nice guy, but cannot keep a job - and you just know when someone is very very smart.... like this guy. So why are people with high IQs always jobless.... anybody know the answer?

I'm not really sure what the relevancy of the link you posted has to do with anything. I'm a little confused about my "claim" to be "smarter and any of them". Claiming to be "smarter" than anyone is actually a pretty dumb thing to do. That sort of behavior is more of an indication of one's own insecurity about who they are. "Puffed up with pride" comes to mind as an example. Truly intelligent individuals don't have to prove how intelligent they are... it is self evident. I spend my time actually doing things, not trying to please other people. Everyone has their unique skill sets and I happen to be one of those lucky folks that have both mental capacity and mechanical inclination. I am not sure who this "Chris" you mentioned is either... I've met a lot of people in my life named Chris. I used to be a member of Mensa and those folks were the biggest bunch of whiners and one-uppers I've ever encountered.. well except perhaps for some of the regular "challenged" posters here. It always cracked me up to see a "super intelligent ego maniac" bewildered in the parking lot because their car wouldn't start and had to call AAA to fix the problem. The AAA guy who showed up to jump start their car and point out they left their headlights on was just an Average Joe... I'm sure that made his day. IQ doesn't give one any special abilities, it is just a measurement of mental potential. A similar phenomenon exists amongst wealthy individuals. Millionaires are more likely to attempt to "prove" how wealthy they are to others, but billionaires know they are wealthy and don't need to prove it to anyone. In my case I have a unique ability to see a big picture based on a lot of little pieces, hence the reason I have an unique ability when it comes to mathematics, chemistry and physics. I'm happy with who I am and really don't need to prove anything to anyone... especially some anonymous poster who makes baseless accusations. I'm kind of like the TV character "House" when it comes to what others think... I really don't care... your opinions and beliefs about ME do not affect me at all. Based on the choice of language and empty claims in your post and my limited knowledge of psychology it would seem you have some sort of self esteem issues or small man's complex. I'm sure in time, with therapy, you can overcome it and enjoy a happy life. I wish you luck in your endeavor to overcome this obstacle in your life that hinders your enjoyment of the life experience. And as far as ETF goes... he's not me... For those of you who have a really good memory we have had quite a few debates over the years here and at some point I gained his respect. I believe it was more to do with actually being able to debate a topic without baseless claims or name calling. We still rarely agree on things, but have formed a mutual respect. I have been away in a drug and alcohol detox center for the past several months and didn't have internet access. While I was there, I sorted out many of my darkest personal habits. Many of you may remember my homosexual escapades that I documented here. It turns out that these encounters were a by-product of my metamphetamine usage. Often times when a drug user gets that fix, it triggers other deep desires and in my case that means sex with men. When I was really high I would fuck just about anyone- man, woman or tranny. It didn't even matter where- mouth, ass or coochie. That's why I used to end up in bar bathroom in Lovejoy with my face splattered with hot manchowder. Well, that's about it for now. I saw that someone had posted that I appeared at the same time as WH so I wanted to tell you all that it's just coincidence. I don't even know him. Question: IQs

Is it true that persons with IQs considered high are usually jobless? I think it is true. I know someone who I consider to have a very high IQ and he is always jobless. He is a very nice guy, but cannot keep a job - and you just know when someone is very very smart.... like this guy. So why are people with high IQs always jobless.... anybody know the answer?

Ok, so even if Griffin did give more to South Buffalo during his term am I wrong in saying that he was favoring his district? He did give money to other districts, right? Well Brown is giving other districts millions and South Buffalo shit. It does seem unfair. Mayor Brown is only doing to South Buffalo what Jimmy Griffin did to other districts of the city. Then you ad in the fact that Mickey Kearns is from there and you get the idea that maybe the Mayor is in to a little payback. Kearns spirited campaign made the Mayor spend money from his warchest that he really did not want to spend. Face it all you white folks in Buffalo, it is not going to get any better for you. As we move on down the line most of the elected officials in Buffalo are going to be black and no matter what they say they will not give two shits about you. My advise, get out of Buffalo while you can still get a buck for your property. Ask some of the folks on the east side of Buffalo, they gave their houses to local churches just to escape the taxes and water bills. They tried renting their houses, but the locals destroyed them or just never paid the rent. Buffalo is going to end up just like Detroit or Newark or any other American city that has seen the population go from white to Black.

Of all of the former First Ladies,most had 1 helper or an aid to help out with tasks.1 President even paid for this person out of his salery.All of the others were funded through tax payers.Clinton had 3 aids which I guess is still acceptable......................

"Hire Felons, they'll fit right in!" - GOP (REPUBLICANS HATE AMERICA)

A top Republican political fund-raising and outreach firm gives convicted felons access to political donors' credit-card information

Minnesota-based FLS Connect uses low-wage workers to make fund-raising calls for a bevy of prominent GOP clients. And many of those workers -- including those responsible for processing credit-card transactions -- have felony convictions, the former employees said.

In response, FLS Connect co-founder Jeff Larson, a Karl Rove protege, told TPMmuckraker that the firm would undergo a review from an outside, independent auditor "to ensure the highest standard of confidence in our processes."

Last month, the founder of a different Republican outreach firm, Bonner & Associates, was hauled before Congress after his company sent forged letters to lawmakers on a key legislative issue. Nothing like that has come to light at FLS, but in interviews with TPMmuckraker, the former employees described a company whose business practices might come as a shock to the well-heeled Republican donors from whom it solicits money. FLS fundraisers, encouraged by supervisors to cut corners in pursuit of donations, routinely mislead potential contributors, say the former employees. And many workers in the company's Phoenix office are ex-cons, who are paid not much more than minimum wage, lack benefits, and work in squalid conditions.

The claim that ex-felons have access to credit-card information was first made by former FLS employee Brian Jones in an interview last week with the website Politics in Minnesota (PIM). Larson denied the charge to PIM.

But in interviews with TPMmuckraker, two other recent employees, Alicia Baca and David Childs, backed Jones up. And Jones himself, a former felon who was recently fired from FLS's Phoenix office, told us he stood by his claim. "He is just a liar," Jones, 37, said of Larson.

Baca, Childs, and Jones explained that when a donor agrees to contribute money by credit card, they're told that they'll be transferred to a supervisor to handle the transaction. But in fact, the three said, they're transferred to another FLS employee in the same room. That person has gone through only a cursory screening process, and in no way acts as a supervisor to the caller making the fundraising pitch. Indeed, they said, he generally earns less money than the fundraising caller.

Baca, 23, said she started working at FLS's Phoenix office in June 2008, making $10 an hour as a fundraiser. But because her numbers were below par, she was made a "validator" -- an employee who verifies credit-card information -- at which she earned $9 an hour. She said that because her boyfriend already worked at FLS when she applied, she was hired without even an interview, and no screening process. And when she became a validator, giving her access to credit-card information, no additional screening was conducted.

All three former employees described FLS's Phoenix office as a haven for ex-felons, in part because Arizona makes it difficult for people with criminal convictions to find jobs, and FLS has become well-known among the state's inmate population for its willingness to hire ex-cons. "My cell-mate from prison got out before me and told me" about the job, Jones said.

Jones and Baca both estimated independently that about 75 percent of employees in FLS's Phoenix office had felony convictions. Baca said she thought the majority of validators did. Said Jones: "It did surprise me that these are the people doing the fund-raising for the GOP."

None of the three said they ever witnessed any improper use of credit-card information by FLS employees, and Larson told PIM that the firm has never experienced credit-card fraud during its ten year history. He reiterated that claim in the statement to TPMmuckraker, which also announced plans for the audit.

Jones denies that he lied on his application. Larson told PIM that Jones wrote "no" on a section that asked whether he had ever been convicted of a felony. Jones said he left it blank, as he was advised by prison officials to do when seeking a job.

FLS Connect has built a reputation as a power player in the world of Republican political organizing, running fundraising phone-banks and engineering negative robocalls on behalf of the McCain-Palin and Bush-Cheney campaigns, the RNC, the GOP Senate and congressional campaign committees, and the campaigns of numerous top Republicans, including Governors (and 2012 presidential hopefuls) Bobby Jindal and Tim Pawlenty, Senators Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, Jon Kyl, Bob Corker, Kit Bond, and George Voinovich, and Rep. Michele Bachmann. The FLS website used to boast an endorsement from Karl Rove: "I know these guys well. They become partners with the campaigns they work with." For his part, Larson is widely credited with leading the effort that attracted the 2008 Republican National Convention to St. Paul, Minnesota, and he the ran the host committee for the event.

The company, founded by Larson and two fellow GOP consultants, Tony Feather and Thomas Synhorst, is also no stranger to controversy (Synhorst is said no longer to be actively involved). Working on behalf of the McCain campaign, FLS was behind an onslaught of negative robo-calls last fall tying Barack Obama to Bill Ayers. The calls were so vicious and misleading that they were denounced even by some Republicans. In addition, former Minnesota senator Norm Coleman took heat last year for renting a room in Larson's Washington D.C. apartment at well below market value. And it was Larson who picked up the $130,000 tab for Sarah and Todd Palin's now-famous shopping spree to Neiman Marcus, Saks 5th Avenue, and other high-end stores. (Larson was later reimbursed by the RNC.)

The three former employees who spoke to TPMmuckraker described a corporate culture in which poorly-paid, overworked call-center employees were encouraged to do almost anything to convince their targets to contribute money. In order to appear motivated by genuine grassroots enthusiasm, callers regularly conveyed to potential donors that they were calling from the candidate's -- and the potential donor's -- home state, by saying things like, "I'm calling about our great state of Texas."

"We make it seem like you're calling on behalf of a state where you've never been before," said Jones. "If you were to start out: 'my name is Brian Jones, calling on behalf of FLS Connect in Minnesota, out of Phoenix,' you wouldn't make any money."

Said Baca: "They tried really hard not to let you know what state they were calling from." All three, however, said they were told that if asked their location, they must tell the truth.

In reality, not only were callers rarely located in the candidate's home state, they were only barely familiar with the candidate at all. "I know nothing about this guy," said Jones, describing his actual mindset in making a call. "I just learned about him. Is he conservative? I don't know."

Both Baca and Childs -- also an ex-felon -- said that fundraisers' calls were monitored twice a day by a company supervisor in Minnesota. But once those two monitored calls had occurred, on-site supervisors would tell callers, as Baca put it, "do what you have to do to get a pledge." That directive led to an even looser approach from callers. Baca said she had heard some tell potential donors, falsely, that they'd receive a signed picture of President Bush -- a draw in some circles, perhaps -- if they contributed.

Callers were told not to end the call without extracting a pledge. "The only way we could let someone go," Baca explained, "is if they had a family member die, if they had a doctor's appointment -- or if they were a Democrat."

As described by the former employees, working at FLS is tough and unrewarding. Many spend an eight hour day, with a few short breaks, making fundraising calls, and work every other Saturday. Baca's wages were typical: fundraisers start out at $10 per hour, validators (the fundraisers' nominal "supervisors") at $9.

Employees are eligible for health benefits only after a year of service. And because turnover is so high, thanks to the grueling nature of the work, few workers last that long. Jones said it was ironic that FLS workers were sometimes asked to pitch potential donors on the evils of health-care reform. "Most of us would want health-care," he said.

The Phoenix office itself is poorly maintained, according to Jones and Childs. Office furniture was falling apart, and "the bathroom was always nasty and gross," Childs said. "Working conditions were pretty bad."

Still, business for FLS Connect seems to be as brisk as ever. According to the firm's website, it's currently hiring "telephone service representatives" for its Phoenix and Minnesota offices: "High School diploma and/or some college a plus. No experience necessary."

Jimmy Griffin cleaned up South Buffalo and the First Ward because he is from there. Anthony Masiello cleaned up Hertel because he is from there. Byron Brown has a lot of ties to the East Side so he is cleaning up the East Side. Which, by the way, is an area in desperate need of investment.

I'm not really sure why you are complaining that Byron Brown is pouring money into an economically and socially depressed area. Please explain. (And please leave the insults and name-calling out of your post or I will not continue to read it.)
