Summary

Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, legal, marketing, communications, engineering or a related field.

Broad understanding of utility operations and the Alberta Electric Industry.

This role requires at least 4 years experience working directly with customers in the Transmission interconnection process in Alberta or equivalent.

Require the candidate have another two years of experience in commercial contracting, legal, marketing, customer service, or public relations or related field.

Exceptional client or customer service skills and ability to develop and hold relationships with end use customers and industry partners.

Excellent inter-personal communication skills , including negotiation and conflict management.

Extensive understanding of generation, distribution and transmission business.

Must have working knowledge of a regulated utility business .

Responsibilities

• Investigate, negotiate and handle a pending of 175, ability to handle 50 new claims per month by telephone, adhering to policy conditions and Claims Manual guidelines.
• Claims will include minor accident benefits, minor property losses (both personal lines and commercial), and auto losses, both physical damage and liability.
• Conduct investigations into liability assessments and on suspicious losses.
• Secure information from insureds, third parties, witnesses and service providers. Interpret police reports, repair invoices and analyze financial documents in order to assess quantum.
• Interpret insurance wordings, conditions and definitions.
• Processes PMS and HUON transactions (ie payments, reserve changes and closures) and have an ability to read SPLG coverage/coding screens.
• Prepare claim-related documents, releases and correspondence.
• Preparation of subrogation files for litigation.

Requirements

• Enrolled in CIP program
• University Degree or College Diploma an asset
• Minimum 2 to 5 years work experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Exemplary written and oral communication skills
• Computer literate (Windows NT, Word, Outlook and Excel an asset)
