The Calgary Trichotillomania Meetup Group (PLAY Grounds Coffee Playhouse)

Do you find yourself pulling out your hair? "trich" as it is commonly known, is an impulse control disorder characterized by the repeated urge to pull out scalp hair, eyelashes, facial hair, nose hair, pubic hair, eyebrows or other body hair, sometimes resulting in noticeable bald patches.

Even though I have been looking for many years, I have not yet found this type of group in my area, in Calgary or surrounding towns/cities (I would have been willing to drive just about anywhere to find someone that has trich in common with me) I have yet to find someone, and even more then that, I have only found one person (in a Coles bookstore) who knew what I was talking about...I have yet to find a book in a store, whatever book/information I do have, I have found online...so.......................................I've decided...why not start my own group.

I have suffered with trich for about 40 years. That's a long time!!!

The purpose for this group is firstly, to be educated about trich and perhaps to be a source of support for those who suffer from this anxiety disorder.
