Class Description
Music4 Babies is a class dedicated to experiencing music with your baby/toddler. Music activities and instrument play for young children helps to develop listening skills, language abilities, fine motor skills, and a love for music! Parent participation is integral to this class, and you don’t need to be an accomplished singer. The class will focus on singing, listening, and responding to music. We will cover a variety of nursery rhymes, folk songs, musical stories, and finger plays. Babies and parents will participate in making music using musical instruments. Babies will be given the opportunity to explore, play and create their own sounds! Movement and dance is also an important part of class! Musical concepts will include; rhythm, beat, tempo, and dynamics. Lyrics of songs learned in class will be sent home at the end of each class. Classes are held once a week in my home in Charleswood, NW Calgary.

I have a Bachelor of Education in Elementary Education from the University of Alberta and a permanent Alberta Teaching Certificate. I have four years teaching experience, teaching grades 2-9. Musical suite of lessons (Turner Valley area)

Offering instruction in musical performance, electric bass and guitar, basic keyboard skills (for analyzing theory and accompanyment) and some rhythmic training (drums, beatboxing, percussion). With a focus on natural musicianship, groove, and creating what's in your head in real time, lessons are custom tailored to the needs of each student, the goal is to have a level of musicianship that will allow you to play any style of music, and to be able to sit in with anybody and keep up.

I also record the lessons for you, so bring a flash drive and take it home. I record using either Cubase or Logic, and offer instruction for the use of them as well. I can teach you what you need to know to turn your computer into a full on studio, what hardware and software you'll need, and how to use it. Learn how to record yourself, your band, how to mix the parts together, to master your final mix and put in on a CD. Or if you're a electronic artist, you can learn how to use VST's (virtual instruments) and record that way. I can record you as well, if that's what you're looking for, but I'd rather show you how to and let you take creative control of your musical destiny!

Professional Math Tutoring (Calgary)

If you are looking for a professional tutor to help your child excel in math, I can definitely help. I run LIVE Online Math which offers math classes, workshops, and tutoring via LIVE, real-time online sessions.

I am a certified teacher who is NCLB Highly Qualified at various levels. During my career, I have taught a wide variety of subjects for grades 4-12, but math is the subject in which I am most experienced and best equipped to teach/tutor. A more detailed work experience is at the bottom of this post.

Location: Your house! Since the sessions are online, there is no need to travel to the library or pay a local tutor more money to travel to your house.

Scheduling: Days and times are flexible. Regular sessions can be set up, or tutoring can happen on an as-needed basis. Once tutoring time is purchased, you can use it however you would like. Tutoring sessions are normally 1 hr., although a customized program can be created that fits your needs.

Fees: Tutoring costs between $22-$28 per hr. depending on how much time is purchased in advance (compare these rates to those of Sylvan and Tutor.com). If there is a small group of kids who need tutoring (say, friends in the same class), the rate could be lower. In this case, a customized rate will be offered depending on the situation.
