Sweet male kitty looking for family (Cape/Islands)
Tom Tom is an absolutely beautiful three year-old silver, black, and white kitty hoping that his forever home is still out there somewhere. He has suffered several setbacks in his life, but he hasn’t given up hope yet. He spent many months at the Centerville shelter and is now at the MSPCA on Nantucket, dying for a forever home. He is so sweet and loveable, and great with kids, dogs, and other cats. He would really like to find a loving person or family to give him a safe, wonderful indoor-only home with some space to exercise and play in! Tom Tom is healthy and fully vaccinated. Though he is on Nantucket, he can be transported to the mainland to the right home.
The MSPCA does not adopt to students or anyone under 21 years old. References and a small adoption fee are required. Thank you so much for considering Tom Tom! He's really hoping to hear from you.

labrador or others play time (Brewster)
Hi,
I live in Brewster, and have a very good sized fenced in yard. I'd like to find someone to has an active dog to schedule regular play times.
Nickerson, Punkhorns, Thompsons Field, Drummer Boy, etc.. are great places, but I'd like to also have them her at my house... or your house if you've got a fenced in yard.
Must be responsible easygoing respectful parents, and sweet fun active dogs. My dog is gentle with smaller animals and super respectful (but playful) with older dogs. And he loves all dogs, children and just everyone really.
I'm super hollistic with him, so am open to learning more and more about this if you're also interested.... health, feeding, alternative medicines, etc, but this certainly isn't necessary for our dogs to play. Thank you, Kim 617.510.3338.

Upper Cape- Seeking guitar player or organ and a lead singer (Sandwich)
Trying this again. Would like to find a guitar player (lead) and a lead singer (m/f). Open to organ/piano. I want to play for enjoyment. Not interested in making a living from it. A night or two a month would be fine. If we're having fun we can go from there. I have a place to practice and a PA set up.
I play anything and everything- Beatles to Plain White T's. Can be a classic or top 10. I don't care as long as it's a good tune. I'm 50- don't care what your age is as long as you can play, have fun, and are open to all types of music. Tell me something about yourself- what you like- what you play.
Bill
looking for Bass Player (East Falmouth)
Heres the info: Guitarist, Vocalist and Drummer looking for a bass player who would be interested in a more casual type of project. We aren't trying to be a cover band playing weekends all over, or are we looking to play original gigs in the same manner. We are rehearsing originals and covers and recording them in a home studio. Basically just making recordings for ourselves to have and listen too. Giging would be by chance for fun and opportunity knocks. players are between mid 30's to mid 40's still looking to play music, Jam and have a good time rather than a second income unless asong or songs recorded became popular. We arelooking to find a bass player and start jaming and recoding in Mid to Late January sometime after the Holidays. if interested please reply to the add. Thanks
I need a large studio space (Cape Cod)
I am in dire need of a large area to work on my drawings. I would prefer a space with clean, spacious walls on which I can tack my paper. My work ranges from 6 feet wide to 18 feet wide, as a general size. I would be willing to pay a small fee for this space if I find it to be ideal for me. I don't have much money to spare, but I would be more than happy to pay what I find to be appropriate for a great workspace.
If you have some large area that you aren't using, I would love to make good use of it for you :)
Thank you,
Elliott

Looking for Reasonable Lessons (yarmouth)
I am looking for somewhere I can take REASONABLE (a.k.a. wicked cheap) horseback riding lessons. I have a strong foundation in western and hunt seat and some dressage work. I have been riding two awesome horses nearby, but it's a half lease/schooling arrangement, and I feel like I've been getting kind of lazy with my technique always just hacking around alone. I am a recent college grad with the common problem of not being able to find a real job using my degree as my loans payments pile up. I am more than willing to work in the barn to help pay for my lessons. I am also an experienced tutor with a degree in biochem/french, if you have kids who need tutoring or babysitting in exchange for lessons. I work 9-6 during the week, but am free after that and on weekends.
Thanks!

Adult Dog Wanted (mid cape)
I will soon be living alone, and I'm looking for a companion. I'm being very picky; I wanna find a dog that's a good fit for me, and vice versa. I've owned dogs most of my life (a lab, an aussie, a boston and a german mutt) and I live in a nice little house on a quiet road with a small fenced in backyard. It has to be an adult (or nearly) dog who is completely housebroken and proven to be good with cats! I don't have any kids around. Relatively mellow would be a plus; I'll certainly be able to take him for a nice long walk/jog daily, but he has to be ok hanging out in the house by himself without tearing up the place while I'm at work. Medium to large would be ideal as I'd also like him to be my "guard dog" (even if he's actually a big baby!). I'm willing to pay a reasonable adoption fee, especially for a dog who's been fixed. If you have a dog that fits this description and you're looking for a home that will give him LOTS of love, send me an e-mail!

Re: Farewell to Felines at petsmart
I am glad they are taking out the adoption because those people were terrible. My friend wanted to adopt one of those cats in the Hyannis Petsmart, in Sept. She called numerous times to set up an appointment to fill out paperwork and adopt him. This was in Sept. and still knowone has called her back. She went and adopted at the Centerville MSPCA instead it was a much better experience. I can't blame Petsmart for kicking them out if the are not adopting out the cats then whats the point. Hopefully they will let a new organization in.

Siamese Kitten needs good home (Yarmouth)
We have a siamese kitten named Cooper that we need to find a good home for. He would not be good around young children, as he has scratched my 2 year old numerous times in the face and hands. I can not risk my son's safety anymore. He is very playful and can be very loveable but he is unpredictable so only people that have older children need to respond please.
He has a good personality overall but can get very aggressive at times. He will sleep with you in bed but loves to play in the middle of the night and bite your feet. He loves to make sure you feed him every morning before you do anything haha he meows so loud to let you know to take care of him first before starting your morning routine.
He is absolutely adorable (Light tan body with black tail and face/ears) and we hate to have to give him away, but we have a new baby as well and do not want him scratching her or trying to get in her bassinet.
He is approx. 10-11 weeks old. He is due for his shots anytime. He will come with a almost full bag of kitten food and a couple cans of wet food, his food and water bowl and a full bag of kitty litter. We are asking a re-homing fee of $50 to ensure a good home and to cover his food, litter, bowls etc., (we paid alot of money for him). I do not want to just give him to anyone I want to make sure that wherever he goes is where he is going to stay. Thank you.
Please respond with information about you and your family and why you would be a good home for him.

”Holiday Mail for Heroes” to Deliver One Million Greetings to Service (286 South St., Hyannis)
”Holiday Mail for Heroes” to Deliver One Million Greetings to Service Members and Families
As part of a national campaign, the American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter is participating in a “Holiday Mail for Heroes” card drive. The American Red Cross and Pitney Bowes Inc. are teaming up to send holiday cards to members of the military and their families in the United States and around the world. From Monday, November 2 until Monday, December 7, the public is invited to send holiday cards with their message of thanks and cheer to a special post office box.
The Red Cross and Pitney Bowes will then screen cards for hazardous materials, sort and package the cards, and deliver them to military bases, veteran’s hospitals and military hospitals during the holidays. “Holiday Mail for Heroes” continues the Red Cross tradition of service to the armed forces. Last year, 1.4 million cards were distributed.
Sending just one card is all it takes to make a difference by spreading holiday cheer and thanks to one of our nation’s heroes. There are currently 1.4 million active duty U.S. military men and women serving in our country and abroad. In addition, there are 24 million veterans in the U.S.
Holiday cards should be addressed and sent to:
Holiday Mail for Heroes, P.O. Box 5456, Capitol Heights, MD 20791-5456
Please be sure to affix adequate postage. Keep the salutation generic, such as: Dear Service member or Veteran. Do not include personal information and please do not send letters. If you’d like to send more than one card, please bundle them and mail them in a package. Cards must be received no later than December 8th (postmarked December 7th). Cards received after this date will be returned to senders. To help speed the sorting process and delivery of cards and notes before the holidays, please refrain from sending “care packages,” monetary gifts, using glitter or including any other inserts.
In order to make cards more meaningful to a wide variety of recipients, those sending cards are highly encouraged to use “Dear Service Member or Veteran” rather than specific language. We encourage the public to send holiday-neutral cards rather than religious-themed cards. For a full list of recommended guidelines and best practices, please visit Redcross.org/holiday mail. Cards are also available to print out from the website, along with messages from Red Cross National Celebrity Amy Grant.

American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter Offers Free Flu Info (286 South St., Hyannis)
American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter Offers Free Flu Checklist and Tips
The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter, is encouraging the public to be prepared for flu season. A flu checklist which provides information about the different types of flu, gives tips for avoiding the flu, lists common symptoms of the flu and suggests steps to take if someone you know becomes infected with the flu. The checklist can be found online at www.cciredcross.org or by calling (508) 775-1540 or (866) 762-1928.
The federal government estimates that as many as 40 percent of the country’s population could become ill with the flu this fall and winter. The H1N1 (swine flu) virus is a potentially serious health issue for families, schools and businesses across the country and the world. While the government is uncertain how widespread or severe the H1N1 flu virus will be this year, there are simple things people can do right now to prepare for it.
Parents should review flu plans at their children’s schools and day care centers. Employees should ask about work policies on tele-working or staying home when a relative is sick with the flu or a child’s school is closed.
The American Red Cross recommends that people follow common sense public health practices and store extra supplies. These steps are helpful for both the H1N1 virus and the seasonal flu virus each year:
• Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer, and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
• Cover your mouth and nose with tissues when you cough or sneeze. If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your elbow.
• Minimize contact with people who are sick as much as possible, and stay home when you are sick.
Get flu shots for both seasonal flu and H1N1. Get the seasonal flu shot early. Groups at the highest risk for contracting H1N1 should get vaccinated as soon as shots become available.
Stock homes with extra food, water and supplies to reduce the need to go out in public when taking care of a sick loved one or if schools and businesses have temporarily closed due to widespread outbreak. The Red Cross recommends storing the following supplies: a two-week supply of food, water, prescription and non-prescription medications, and health and cleaning supplies such as soap, tissues, thermometers, bleach and hand sanitizer. Water should be in clean plastic containers and hold a gallon of water per person per day. Household preparation steps should also include baby supplies, food for special nutritional needs, copies of important personal documents, extra pet food and cash.
During a flu outbreak the Red Cross remains committed to its core services of maintaining a safe blood supply, educating the public on preparedness, and providing disaster relief to those in need.
For more information on how to be prepared for flu season, for training, preparedness information or for volunteer opportunities, visit www.cciredcross.org or call toll-free (508) 775-1540 or (866) 762-1928.
