Missing Scout the Cat (East Orleans, Ma)

Scout has been on walkabout through the summer in East Orleans. She has been seen regularly from Beginner's Lane along Brick Hill Road to Colony Drive. She is a large tabby long haired Maine Coon mix - very friendly and food motivated. Her collar was turquoise and lime green with a gold tag - not sure if she still has it on. She has a very loud purr! And tufts of fur coming out of her paws. I've had wonderful people call all through the summer giving me updates - if you might be feeding her, or have seen her - please call me @ 508 360 6228. I miss her desperately - she's my girl! Thank you very much! I'd love to have her home soon as it's starting to get colder.
She may be shy and a little bit skittery since she's been on her own for a while.

All The 'Lost' kitties (Cape Wide)

There are almost 30 cats listed on just this ONE page...all LOST, except for a small handful that are 'found', so obviously they are 'lost' too, but no one is posting for them. So, they've been either dumped off to fend for themselves by careless owners, or they are feral and being mistaken for a frightened/shy domestic.

People, GET A CLUE! IF you love your cats, then make sure they don't get out, to be 'missing', which more than likely means they became coyote food, road kill, fox feeders, possible dog bait, or succombed to some other horror for Halloween, if they are solid black.

Many kids/punks, also take strays for abuse for 'fun' in a garage or where ever they can get away w/killing it slowly. We don't live in Mayberry here. Those are the hard facts for cats allowed outside. A 'friendly' lost kitty is easily lured by a sick teen or adult, who is looking to solve his boredom problems for a while, or fuel his mental issues.

If they are not fixed, they will travel several miles to find a mate, and many will mate w/ferals, therefore continuing the vicious cycle of thousands of uncared for, sick cats on the Cape, surviving any way they can. Many exposing whatever disease they have, to your domestic cats roaming freely outside, if they are not protected w/shots from a vet.

I know some people feel it is unkind to keep a cat indoors. Well, today with all the problems out there facing an 'outdoor' kitty, it is really more unkind to let them 'roam' freely for any # of things to happen to them.

Most lost cats are never found b/c of these outside factors that await them. At the very least, fix & microchip your cats, to help keep them closer to home, and easier to get back to you if they get lost. Make sure the microchip is UTD & working properly thru the company/provider. Not all are activated as they should be. So make sure of that!
Keep your cats UTD w/needed shots as well, to help them stay healthy against outside cats that they may fight with, or have other contact with, that could easily pass on a disease to them.

There is no substitute for keeping your cats safe indoors w/you. They will adjust to it.

I hope the best for all the lost out there. If you don't get your cats back, please learn from this harsh lesson, and do it differently for the next one you get. It is really in their own best interest.

With all the things on the market today, indoor cats can enjoy the outdoors in a restricted area, or even on a harness, walking w/you like a dog. Trained early enough, they will do just that. It's not cruel...it's keeping them safe, protected & alive for many years to come w/you.

Got out in September and used to walk around the neighborhood, and never came back one day.
Put ads in the paper and no one responded, so thought I'd try Craigslist.
No tags, but is a long haired fluffy black and white kitten only a year old, named Leroy.
He's very shy but very cuddly once he warms up to you, and has been known to climb trees.
His sister misses him!

Seeking Alexandra Campbell

I am the daughter of Peter Dow Campbell II, though his friends might be surprised to learn of my existence. We had little to do with each other before he passed away ten years ago when I was 17.

I know that I have a half sister who is about ten years older than me. Her name is Alexandra, and I understand that she may have married and changed her name. None of my efforts to reach her have been successful, and I can only hope that perhaps someone here on craigslist knows her and how I might possibly get in touch with her.

My only other living relative is my mother, and I am greatly curious to learn more about the one other blood relative I have.

Looking 4 adopted son (Hyannis Hospital)

Back in 1967 I gave birth to a 7lb 7 oz baby boy... I was only 15 and had no choice in giving him up... I was told he was adopted and left the hospital before I did, with his adoptive parents... I never even got to see him... I asked but was denied :(

He was born on Oct 30th 1967 @ 3:36 am in the Hyannis hospital, although I was from CT... My mother and I moved to MA for 2 months just for the birth, then went back to our "normal" life...

Being only 15 I don't remember the name of the agency that handled the adoption, but I think it was located in Wood's Hole.... my mother passed away many years ago, and my sister threw out all documents related to the birth... In 1967 being pregnant was a scandal and my older sister was mortified and we never discussed it... except for the nasty names she called me... Also back then, birth records were falsified.... sometimes changing the date of the birth and sometimes lying to the birth mother as to the sex of the child...

My sister still lives in the house in CT that we grew up in, and I often wonder what she would do if my child came looking for me... In my heart I think she would deny everything, or tell him I died...

If by some chance you happen to know of an adoptee that was born in MA on or around Oct 30 1967 I hope you'll have them contact me... I think of him all the time and pray he had a good happy life... My aunt and uncle wanted to adopt my baby, but my mother wouldn't allow it.

His birth father and I are both Caucasian with green/hazel eyes and on the short side... I'm 5'4" and the father was 5'6"
