I am looking for some side work. I am planning on opening my own shop eventually and am looking to build a customer base first. I am able to do almost everything including check engine lights, engine swaps, transmission swaps or rebuilds, but I am somewhat limited since I'm working in my garage. For labor, I charge $30 an hour, compared to the $99 an hour my dealership charges, and dealerships charge up to $140 an hour, or you can get work done for as low as $70 an hour at a lower quality smaller shop. I charge by book hours, not by how long it takes for me to do it. Get a quote from some other place and see how much money you will save!
