I'm looking for occasional/regular childcare opportunities that can either be in your Cedar Rapids/Marion/Hiawatha home or in my apartment (I live at Cedarwood Hills Apts). I have 20+ years of experience. Have been CPR/first aid certified though it has been a few years- still have knowledge of the trainings, etc. I've got a flexible schedule and can work around almost anything. Experience with newborn up to 12 years. I don't take block grant at this time but if an opportunity were to come up and someone wanted me to care for their child in my home regularly I'd be willing to get registered.

I would have my own transportation to your home however if transportation could be provided would discount the rate. I'm flexible...

This lady, Sharon, is posting on here nearly everyday. Each time she posts her pricing is changing. Last week she had it as low as $80 for newborns, FT per week! If you are thinking about leaving your infant in her care, make sure you don't pay more than that!! It just makes me wonder why anyone would lower their prices over $20 per week - I mean, if people are signing up after meeting with her why is she lowering her price? She says she is becoming registered but when you are registered you can only have a set (low) number of children under 24 mos, so why would she be looking for more if she plans to be registered? She doesn't want you to make your decision based upon lacation and price, but she is charging $50 less per week than most? Why? Oh, and don't worry; your baby wont be in the car seat all day, she has a bouncer and a swing that all those babies can take turns in all day. I'm just saying...

I have been unable to work and am afraid that i will no longer be able to take care of her. i hate to see her go since she is my baby. She is a very affectionate cat and needs to go somewhere where she will get love and attention. She does well with kids. my roommates three year old is always holding her or trying to and Kisses just lays there and takes it. She has never once bitten or scratched anyone with the exception of me while trying to give her a bath.

Wanted Lionhead buck for childs 4-H project

I told a good friend that I would help them find a Lionhead buck for 2010 far season.. The girl showing is 13 and the rabbit must be friendly as they have to stake I believe that's what they call it.. So the younger the better is my guess.. They don't care about color but they do already have a all black doe so maybe a different color would be nice.. The reason for wanting a buck is she wants to show in the doe and buck classes.. Desperate for Baroque and Renaissance

First tenor desperate to sing some good Handel, Lully, Purcell, Monteverdi, de Lasso.....anything with great emotion and structure. All the other chorus groups are GREAT, and they perform beautiful music by great choral composers, but in order to get an audience, they succumb to the "greatest hits" or "contemporary" syndrome. OK, but not fun for me anymore! Give me a good Requiem or Te Deum, Agnus Dei, Oratorio, Early Opera, Madrigal, Art songs. Good "early" music from the Renaissance. Something deep with substance and emotion. Even a small group of trained singers will do! Something to open my heart, performed in a space for sound....not a "box room" or "Five Season's Center". I've only got a couple of decades left to perform tons of music. I could care less if there is an audience. People don't know what they're missing if they don't show up......

basset hound puppy for adoption (Cedar Rapids)

I'm fostering a 7 month old female basset hound puppy who needs a loving home.

She's very sweet, not a barker/howler, loves to cuddle and play. She is great with kids, other dogs, and other animals; very friendly.

I'm asking for $75 rehoming, because she's had her first round of shots. I can provide her papers to confirm this. I can also include her leash/collar/food/shampoo/toothbrush and paste.

She weighs 13 pounds right now and will end up being between 30-45 as an adult.

She's very well-behaved and understands commands like "No" and "down." She is also house-trained, but it might take her a day or two to adjust to a new environment (she is a puppy, after all). She's a great dog!!

When you hit level 10 as a Hunter, you’re going to be pretty excited about getting your first pet, but you’ll also find that you are going to need to start thinking about where you want to spend your Talent points as well! Hunters, like every other class, have three trees where they can put their talent points, and the way that you spend your talent points is going to have a huge effect on the play styles that you can master as well how much damage you put out.

With Hunters, you could do well to spend your points on Survival, Marksmanship, and Beast Mastery, in order to gain the most benefit from you class. Be sure to learn as much as you can about these strippers so that you can know more about how to spend your points on these useful, but different, talents.

It is the Beast Mastery tree which basically ends up helping you create your pet. Since Hunters are able to make use of their pet both for tanking and increasing destruction, you will want to put your earned points in the Beast Mastery tree so you’re guaranteed to be able to use that pet as your tank. If you are one of those Hunters who likes to solo, this is the tree for you.

Now the Marksmanship tree will be the one that will make it possible for you to cause the most damage with the shots you fire, while it also makes it possible for you to conserve the mana as you are doing it. You end up creating more damage with the weapons you’ve chosen to use, and you’ll increase your attack speed overall. If your goal is to be the main damage dealer, then this is the tree you need.

Finally, we have the Survival tree, which gives you great tools when you want to do work with groups. This is where you will get access to better crowd control techniques, and you will also find that your ability to use traps is made more effective and much more impressive. Though it tends to be the least popular tree, you will find that this tree can be extremely important in raid situations.

When you are in a place where you want to play a Hunter, remember that you need to look into how you are planning to play. If you are going to be soloing for the most part, take advantage of buffs for your pet that you can find in Beast Mastery. On the other hand, if you are primarily gearing your Hunter up for raids, ask yourself what kind of role you want to play, as either Marksmanship or Survival can be a great choice.

Pitbull, 5 Months / Female (Central City, IA)

Molly is a five month old brindle and white PitBull that is in search of her forever - SAFE - home. I rescued her last month from an abusive owner. She is scheduled for spaying on 12/10, and will also have a baby tooth extracted that same day. The tooth has been cracked and is starting to become infected. This may have been caused to a possible blow to the jaw. Molly has done a complete turn around. She is currently being fostered in my care with two other dogs. She gets along great with these dogs, has not been around cats. Does great around new people. Her tail just wont stop wagging now!

The Cedar Rapids Elevate chapter would like to invite all current and former foster youth over the age of 13 to attend our chapter meetings. This includes young people who live(d) with a relative other than their parents, were in foster care but returned to their birth parents, aged out, got adopted or are still in foster care. Young people are welcome to bring supportive adults to meetings if they like. Meetings are facilitated by a foster care alum with a decade of experience in foster care advocacy. All affiliated adults have submitted clear background and driving checks. Rides to and from meetings can often be arranged if contact is made prior to noon on the day of the meeting.

We hold our meetings on the
1st & 3rd Thursday of every month
from 6:30-8:30 pm

Holiday pay- daycare provider ??

wanted advice on what to do in this situation -
We are closed on Christmas and the day after, as paid holidays. This year, x-mas falls on a Friday, so we will be closed, but what do we do about the day after? I know some employers give the following monday or something off as a paid holiday if the holiday falls on a weekend . Is anyone else closed on this day? What are you going to do?

Found CAT in NE Cedar Rapids

A cute orange cat showed up on our doorstep tonight and we cannot have pets so we are looking to find it a good home! It appears to be a indoor cat as it keeps trying to come inside our home. I went out and it came right up to me and let me pet it for about 15 minutes. It has a kitten like face and cannot be much more than a year old (if that). Part time Childcare in our house (Great for college student!!!)

We are looking for a part-time childcare at our home in Ely to begin Dec. 1. The position would be 3 days a week (Tues through Thur), from approximately 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. At times (but rarely), assistance may be needed for additional days or times, if possible. These are tentative hours that may be flexible if required. We would be open to 2 friends splitting this time as needed for their schedules.

We have 4 children (Ages 11, 7, 3, and 2 months), but the oldest 2 attends school full-time, and the 3 year old may attending pre-school 2 mornings a week. Therefore the position would generally be for the care of our 2 month old, with care for the 3 year old when he is not in school. The position could also require picking up our 3 year old from preschool 1 days a week, we have an additional car that could be used for this purpose.

We would also ask that our provider help with some light housework around the house as necessary. And most importantly, we want someone that loves kids, is very energetic, and wants to spend time interacting, playing, and learning with our children. We will also ask that any interested parties be willing to provide references if requested. Daycare Openings!! (SW Cedar Rapids)

I have up to two openings for full time daycare. I have a small daycare, currently have two children, I will only take up to two more. I want to be able to have one on one time with the children, and be able to safely go on field trips. I am in the process of getting registered with DHS, and my husband and I are licensed foster parents, so we have current background checks done. I have experience working in a Montessori Preschool, and as an associate with the Cedar Rapids Schools.

My rates are:
$115 a week up to 50 hours
$60 a week up to 25 hours or
$3 an hour, whichever works out cheapest for you.
Also for the second child in the family, I charge half price of the first.

We do field trips, and try to get outside to play everyday as long as the weather is cooperating. I will not sit your child in front of the TV all day! I will work on basic skills with them, ABCs, 123s for example. For those children over two, I have a "preschool time" each day where we work on preschool skills.
