We are looking for preferably a 3 bedroom and 2 bathroom house with a decent sized back yard. We are very responsible adults as well as students. Also, 2 of us are looking to stay here for the summer. I know usually up here in Mt. Pleasant it is $100 per month during the months of June and July and August pro-rated. It would be great if we could work something like this out as well. We do have two well behaved dogs. One is a small Australian Shepherd and the other is a small English Pointer. Free Room and Board in Exchange for help with elderly mother. My mom is legally blind and has a few other health issues, which include, sleep apnea, diabetes etc. She is mobile and can walk with the use of a walker. She does need some assistance getting up out of bed in morning, up from dining room chair, has a lift chair, and help being put to bed. Duties include helping her up in the morning, getting her dressed and fixing her breakfast (which usually consist of toast, peanut butter.. I do have help that comes into my home from 12 noon until 6 pm, so that is free time to do whatever you want. In the evening it would be helping her get ready for bed and helping her to bed, basically the evening are free to watch tv or play on the internet. My mom gets up sometime between 9-10 am and goes to bed sometime between 7:30 and 8 pm. She sleeps all night and usually does not need assistance thru the night. The room that is available is being redone with new pergo flooring, freshly painted-it will include cable, and wireless internet. Must be willing to have back ground check. I am a senior (major bio-chemistry and bio medical sciences) and will be graduating in December.

Currently, I'm living in a dorm; I'll need a place starting in May thru December.

I have my own furniture. Air conditioning would be a plus as would a washer and dryer in the unit.
Depending on the rent I can contribute to utilities, but would need more info on that.

I'm pretty open to living with anyone but due to my work/school schedule I prefer a more low key quiet atmosphere, but the good thing is I'm not home much. I don't smoke and occasionally drink.

The only thing I can't accept is if you have cats or dogs; I like them, but am quite allergic.

I would love to find a landlord who perhaps needs help maintaining their rental units, in possible exchange for an available unit for me to live. (Perhaps a barter exchange of 12-16 hours per week work ? if you value my labor at just $10 per hour, that would equal $480-$640 per month of my work in exchange for a place) I am not homeless, just trying to see if their is such a barter arrangement available somewhere in the area. I am currently living out-of-state and seeking to return back home to the Mt. P area after 15 years away, in part to finish a graduate degree at CMU.
