Mentors Needed!! (Clinton County)

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a youth? But are you short on time. If you are short on time Clinton County MSU Extension has the perfect opportunity for you! Creating Connections is looking for people, 21 and older who have 1 or 2 hours a week to mentor youths in the foster care system. The mission of Creating Connections is to develop quality supportive one-on-one mentoring relationships to encourage teen to reach their full potential in life after foster care.

As a Clinton County 4-H Mentor you would agree to:
• Meet weekly with your mentee in accordance to our program policies
• Attend a minimum of two additional training or support sessions annually
• Complete weekly progress reports and maintain consistent contact with the program coordinator
• Participate in semi-annual match review and evaluation
• Follow all program policies

Qualifications:
• Must genuinely care about youth
• Must successfully complete the 4-H volunteer screening process including a criminal background check, reference checks, application and interview
• Complete 2 hours of pre-match training
• Be at least 21 years of age
• Have reliable transportation, proof of insurance, registration, and valid drivers license.


This is a great way to to get involved in the community, make some new friends, and have a huge impact on a youth!
