Position Summary
The Princeton-Blairstown Center (PBC) seeks individuals with passion for working with young people and who possess urban savvy. PBC is a private, non-profit corporation closely affiliated with Princeton University. Our program model includes year-round partnerships with inner-city schools and youth servicing agencies working with a variety of youth, with the majority being middle school students. PBC is seeking dynamic persons who will maintain a high level of excellence and professionalism in the delivery of quality experiential/adventure education programs. Through these programs, PBC seeks to promote knowledge and skill development in various areas of Social and Emotional Learning (Character Education).
Responsibilities include group management, group processing, promoting transfer of learning experiences, and risk management as you either lead, or partner with a co instructor, to lead a group of approximately 10 participants through components of our adventure-based curriculum. Community Based Facilitators also have the responsibility of fully participating in paid staff trainings, ensure program evaluation is completed, and may have the opportunity to assist with administrative duties including curriculum enrichment. Ideal PBC programs create a learning environment where individuals and the group as a whole develop effective communication, problem solving, and cooperation in achieving a common goal. Must have 2 years experience working with this age group as a teacher.
