Weimeriener needs new home (Harmony, Nj)

Here are some new faces at Bladen County Animal Control in Elizabethtown North Carolina a small shelter in a very rural part of the state. We just don't get a lot of help from the community so we have to look else where to try and save some lives. MANY of these dogs will be put down next Tuesday especially since its a short week and the shelter will be closed for the holidays. Looking for dog in need!! (Somerset County)

I am interested in adopting a dog, or two if they need to stay together. I am an extreme animal lover and already have 4 cats. The dog MUST get along with other animals. I recently moved into a house and live alone. I work mostly from home and have a lot of time to spend with a dog. I would especially be interested in taking in a special needs (physically disabled) or older dog. I volunteer at the local animal shelter and have a lot of experience.
I bought a Newfoundland from a breeder 6 weeks ago and she is turning out to not be a good match. She is terrified of everything and never wants to come out of her cage. I may sell her to someone experienced with dog anxiety disorders that has the money to train her. I also may keep her if bringing in another dog helps her.
I would prefer to not spend a lot of money and provide a home for a rescue, or a dog in danger of losing its home right now.
Please let me know if you have anything of interest to me. I am available anytime and can take the dog in ASAP if things work out.
Although i am willing to consider any dog, i prefer large dogs and have a particular interest in the Newfoundland, St Bernard, Weimaramer, Shar pei, doxon. Thank you!

Sweet Female Newfoundland (Somerset County)

17 month old female Newfoundland named Mia. 98 pounds, all black. Extremely gentle and sweet, but very shy/nervous/timid. I adopted her 6 weeks ago from breeders in NJ. They raised her to be a show dog, but around 6 months old, Mia became very noise sensitive and nervous in new social situations. For this reason, she was sold to me for $1500. I have a love for special needs dogs and was willing to take her on. Since taking Mia home, she has hid in the back of her cage and only eaten sporadically. It took her a week to go in and outside with ease for me. However, she never had an accident in the house. She is very well trained when it comes to being housebroken. She was raised with many other dogs and gets along well with my 4 cats. She has never growled or barked with me. She also never wags her tail. The breeders deny any abuse in her history.
I use a choke collar with Mia but if anything at all scares her she attempts to pull extremely hard and has gotten away from me more than once. However, she walks very nicely when she is comfortable.
I love her but i do not think were a good match. I want to be responsible and find her someone willing to get her the training she may need and give her patience. She is AKC certified. I will provide all necessary paperwork. I am willing to supply you with all of her toys, food and collar/leash. You will need to have a cage ready for her as this is her safety zone. You can come to my home and meet her or i can meet you somewhere.
I will not be able to take Mia back into my home once you adopt her so please only serious inquiries! I really want whats best for her and I feel awful giving her up. Write Melanie anytime. Thank you!

Ball Python and Red Tail Boa (North Plainfield)

I have a 5 year old Male Ball Python. He is 50% het for Ghost. He is very docile, eats a med size live rat once a week. He has never bitten or even tried to bite me in the 2 years of me owning him. This is a Perfect starter snake. For the snake alone, im asking a small rehoming fee of $100 firm. I will not budge on that price. For $200 i will include his 40 gal breeder tank(very large size) a undertank heating pad and Lamps, substrate and 2 igloo type hides.

I also have a 1 year old Red Tail Boa. This snake is AWESOME to own. He is very easy to handle(a little on the strong side) He eats a med-large rat once every week. 2-Boarder Collie/Sheltie Mix (Jackson, NJ)

I have brother and sister boarder collie sheltie mix dogs just 1 year old that I need to find a good home for. They must stay together as they will go in to a depression if seperated at this point according to the vet. I have had them since 6 weeks old. Baby Handfed Lovebirds (CNJ)

Iron stand for 55 gallon tank stand only $10 (Hazlet)

This stand has a decent amount of rust. I wire brushed it today and it does not affect the stability of the metal or the stand in any way.
Anyone that buys used tank stands knows it is simple to paint these. 1 seven dollar can of black rustoleum brand paint makes these stands look brand new in about 20 minutes tops.
All the welds are good, and the stand is still very strong. The rust has not weakend it at all.
If the stand does not sell within about a week at this price, i will be painting it myself and re listing it for 40 to 50 dollars. So take advantage of this low price now. New these stands cost about 4 times what i am currently asking. The stand will also hold a tank smaller than 4 ft long on the bottom shelf. It is a typical angle iron wrought iron tank stand.

Puppies with Pneumonia Struggling Help! (NJ/PA)

We are a central NJ dog rescue who reached out and took in a pregnant mom dog. She delivered 8 babies and shortly after their birth they came down with pneumonia. We had to admitt all 8 to the ER hospital and we ended up loosing 5 of them. The remaining 3 are doing well but they must stay there in order to get the treatments they need to survive. We are struggling to keep up with their medical bills but do not want to give up on them. Thank you so much for who ever took the time to read this. I am a 33 year old buisness owner in the animal industry, I own 3 dogs 2 German Shepards and a Pit Mix who I rescued from a kill shelter. I want to start off by saying that I do love all breeds of animals and wish they all could be saved and have homes,just some people have certain passions and mine is the "MISSUNDERSTOOD BREEDS" including ofcourse the pitbulls, German Shepards, Dobermans, Rotties, Chows, Etc

I go to sleep at night feeling so unfufilled and even though I know I cant save every dog,and volunteering was even more heartbreaking I thought I could do something else....Id like to put togther a group of people that would like to volunteer their time in helping these animals in anyway we can. We can educate the community for the people that do have the education, we can get sponsers from local buisnesses to help the larger foundations.Anything that we can do to help educate SPAYING/NEUTERING,Stop Puppy Mills & Pet Stores, and for me my biggest passion stop DOG FIGHTING!! We can do fun things Garage sales,walks,Holidays events. Im only 1 person with 1 very small brain :) But, with a bunch of people helping with big hearts we could go along way.

Just think what is happining in NYC and many other places they have BANNED Pit Bulls,now they are banning in the housing projects any breed that weighs over 25 pounds.What happens to those now unwanted animals? The streets? A Shelter? Death? Which is better? But then again with all the communities of townhouses in this local area who is to say they cant do that here? Why because BIG DOGS ARE MEAN? NO JUST MISUNDERSTOOD!!!
So, if anyone is interested in forming a group togther I would love to hear from you and get togther and brain storm. We could have meetings and really make a diffrence,its just some time out of your day to help the ones that cant help themselves PLEASE HELP ME HELP THEM & the people that dont understand them!

My family and I are looking for a loving forever home for our German Shepherd. My father is suffering from kidney failure, so he is on dialysis three times a week. My father is not supposed have any animals in the house due to his many complications from his diabetes and kidney dialysis. The German Shepherd, Piper, has been “his” dog for four years. He raised her from a puppy and wanted her to become a service dog (such as search and rescue). Due to his failing health, he was unable to successfully complete the training. She is about four years old, female intact (not spayed). Although Piper grew up with a male Golden Retriever, she will be a wonderful addition to a household where she is the only pet to love.

Okay, don't be mislead by this photo. Maco is putting on his "serious" face for the camera. But this one year old pup is a playful boy! He arrived at the NY City shelter 11/21/08 as a stray, and was quickly taken by our rescue. We're glad to give him a place to stay while he waits for his forever home. But why aren't there people lining up for this guy? He's very DOG FRIENDLY , a happy puppy, a sweet DOG! Good for everyone and every kind of family. Just look at him with his KONG, totally content, ready to make friends but capable of entertaining himself if needed. He's bright and wants to please his human companions, too--basically, he's an A plus dog- the kind of BIG BOY ( He weighs 62 pounds) who will change your mind about large breeds.

Maco has been in a boarding kennel since Mid-November. he is well cared for and fed and exercised, but even the best shelter is no substitute for a real home. Otis is a 7 month old Akita/ German Shepherd mix who is looking for a new home. Otis is a high energy dog and would be happiest in a house where he would get a lot of attention and exercise. He listens well, comes when you call him, is house broken and gets along well with other dogs and with older children. He is a large dog, long haired dog and should weight between 60 and 70 pounds when he is full grown. Otis is very friendly and welcoming to everyone who enters the house. HELP! 5 y/o minpin needs a new home! ASAP! (Woodbridge NJ)

5 y/o min pin needs a new home.
He is house-trained, knows some basic commands and doesn't have any destructive behavior. He was at the vet about 6 months ago and got his yearly heart worm exam which came back negative and is good on all of his shots. He is neutered as well.

He has bitten a few people in the past that have gotten too close to his caretaker. It really is no issue at all because he it's so infrequently that he snaps, but we have a baby on the way and cannot take the chance. He would do well in an adult only home. I would not feel comfortable placing him in a home with children. Not that I think he would bite, but you cannot put it past a dog that has bitten before.

We have been trying for months to find Rocky a home with no luck. We really are getting desperate. There is a very small adoption fee that can be given to any shelter of your choice, we don't want the money...we just want to make sure that you are serious about wanting him. We have just a few questions to make sure that Rocky is getting a good home and we would like a vet reference if possible.

Rocky lives with 3 other dogs and gets along with them all. Rocky is very laid back and just likes to hang out under a blanket for most of the day or in your lap. He also loves laying outside in the sun on a nice day.

For everyone contacting me, I completely understand you trying to help. However, he has been to a behaviorist and a trainer among many other things. He cannot be trusted and I don't believe his issues can be resolved. He needs a home to fit his personality quirks. This is not an issue of getting rid of a dog just because we don't want him around the baby. We have 3 other dogs that aren't going anywhere. Rocky cannot be around a child. As hard as it might be to understand for some of you, some dogs just cannot be trusted regardless of what you have done to help them.
