Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday that the first crucial vote on an $848 billion health care overhaul package would probably happen Saturday.

Reid stacked the bill with provisions sought by liberals, including a public insurance option, albeit a version with an opt-out clause for states. As it found with the House bill, the Congressional Budget Office concluded that the Senate public option could cost more than private plans, and attract little participation, with only 3 million to 4 million people enrolling in the program.

An analysis of the Senate bill by the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office determined it would cut federal deficits by $130 billion over the next decade. However that is only $13 billion a year and when
that is subtracted from a current deficit of $1.6 trillion the deficit remains in excess of $1.4 trillion. That's something to get excited about.

Call Senators Menendez and Lautenburg and tell them to oppose this money grabbing intrusion into our lives.

Helping a friend, who is not computer savy, locate an atty to do PRO BONO Child Custoy/Child Welfare case. Friend cannot afford atty fees but is seeking representation. Will accept attys from all parts of NJ except Hudson Cty (where friend, kids and the mother resides). This is based on a father (friend) trying to obtain custody of kids from mother's neglect. The House health reform bill would require all Americans who can afford insurance to buy it, raising a thorny question: What happens to those who opt out, then suddenly get sick, and stick the rest of Americans with their medical bills? Rush Holt voted to raise taxes

I just now voted for the Affordable Health Care for America Act. I want you to know about this development and what the bill means for you. This bill would provide secure and stable health coverage regardless of whether you change jobs or are between jobs, ensure Americans will never be denied care if they get sick (but your taxes and the deficit will sky rocket), and extend coverage to (those not paying into the system) those not well served by the current system.

So what does the Pelosi proposed healthcare bill look like? It is unclear for sure. Certainly not because people don’t care to read it, but because it is a 1,990 page bill that creates 111 new federal bureaucracies and is estimated to cost approximately $1.2 trillion. (Would now be an appropriate time to mention the Federal government rarely comes in at or under budget?) Among many of the provisions in the monstrosity of government-growth-that-is the Pelosi bill are such things as Medicare budget cuts, draconian penalties for failure to obtain insurance coverage.

This is what you get if you continue to vote for people loke Rush Holt and Pelosi.

NJ Democratic Party Chairman Joseph Cryan said “that checks were copied from payments sent out for the party’s 2006 field operation.”

By confiscating my homestead rebate of $1200 Corzine effectively took an amount of money from me that would easily pay for my 2 kids school lunch.

His ad claims he preserved the homestead rebate for the middleclass. My NJ gross income reported on my taxes was just under 80K.

It's been a long year. Many conservatives have been confused about what to do in the race for Governor of New Jersey. Some establishment Republicans didn't help matters with things they did or didn't do.

But that's all in the past now. It's in the past because we know who is counting on Jon Corzine to win. He was here today, in both Camden and Newark, and he said that Corzine was "one of the best partners I have in the White House...we work together. We know our work is far from over."

That's right. The radical national agenda of Barack Obama is hoping to get a boost from the election for Governor of New Jersey.

You know what that means. Last week, the most left-wing Speaker in the history of Congress unpacked her plan to take over health care - and with it 18% of the American economy. Coupled with the Obama "cap & tax" scheme, both these bills will destroy American competitiveness, drive-up costs, and amount to the largest collective tax increase ever.

It is time to say NO to Obama's plans to Socialize Medicine and the way to say NO is by defeating Jon Corzine this Tuesday.

To defeat him, we have to vote for someone else. Chris Daggett supports abortion, same-sex marriage, and higher taxes. That's not a choice conservatives can make.

To defeat Jon Corzine, the only choice is Chris Christie.

Something happened in New York this weekend that should help us sort out the conflicted emotions some of us still have. The Republican establishment put up a liberal to run in a Special Election in the 23rd congressional district in far upstate New York. The Democrats put up their own liberal and, this being a special election (without a primary), a Conservative Party candidate, Doug Hoffman, jumped into the race as well.

In the last two weeks, the Conservative moved from third to first place. The Republican, liberal Dede Scozzafava (who had been endorsed by the liberal Daily Kos blog), fell to third place. So she got mad, sulked, dropped out - and then endorsed the Democrat!

That is the difference between us and them. We have a set of principles to guide us, while they only have self-interest. And it is our principles that will lead us to the right choice on Election Day.

Conservatives know that Obama, Reid and Pelosi will use a Corzine victory to help them push through their radical national agenda. Conservatives not only can deny them that momentum by electing Chris Christie Governor, with a big enough margin, you and I could put enough pressure on Congress to stop Obama's Socialized Medicine scheme once and for all.

On the other hand, a Corzine win in New Jersey will send a message that voters will support someone whose radical left-wing agenda is the same as Obama's. You know the record: low income housing projects shoe-horned into our towns, radical left-wing spending programs that do nothing but provide paychecks to liberal ideologues and political hacks, government funded abortions, support for same-sex marriage, paid family leave, a red carpet for illegal aliens and an extremist anti-gun owner, anti-hunting mentality.

And higher and higher taxes...

Look, Chris Christie and I don't agree on everything. And Chris isn't Steve Lonegan. But Chris Christie isn't Jon Corzine either. And on Tuesday, the choice is clear. Whether you are concerned about high taxes, pro-Life, marriage, gun rights, spending programs, illegal aliens or the threat of low income housing there's a clear difference between the candidates and any conservative who doesn't support Chris is cutting off their nose to spite their face.

The bottom line is clear: a Corzine victory will be a victory for Obama and his Socialist far-left allies. A Christie victory will be seen as a victory for conservatives. Let’s keep our eye on the ball here. Together we can take our party back, and we will. But on Tuesday let's send Barack Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and New Jersey's stale and tired Democrat hacks a message by giving Chris Christie a big margin on Tuesday, as well as a big NO vote on Question One -- the $400 Million Open Space scam.

i think this should be sent out to all of your NJ contacts. People should know who this scammer is. He has been propped up to help get the independent votes away from Christie thus ensuring a close race where it will come down to absentee ballots. We all know how easy it is to steal an election with absentee ballots, see Al Franken.

Why wouldn’t he drop out with a projected 8% of the vote. He is waiting for another political appointment by Corzine. Has the Corzine administration done anything for NJ. Daggett has the same principals and is is proven by his appointment by the current administration.

A vote for Daggett is a vote for Corzine.

What's NJ got to lose by voting in a Republican. Maybe high property taxes, car insurance, sales tax, limited insurance providers and the list goes on.

A day after a New Jersey political boss was convicted of corruption, Republican gubernatorial candidate Chris Christie's campaign yesterday hammered Gov. Jon Corzine for donating more than $400,000 over the past decade to the crooked power broker's influential organization.

Even Corzine's mother -- a retired schoolteacher in Oak Park, Ill. -- had handed over $37,000 to former Bergen County Democratic Chairman Joe Ferriero, who was convicted of conspiracy to defraud the town of Bergenfield and mail fraud.

"Try as he might, Jon Corzine can't hide the fact that he and his family gave $441,600 to Joe Ferriero and his Bergen County Democratic Organization," said Christie's running mate, Kim Guadagno.

Christie's camp blasted the Democratic governor for not standing up to Ferriero earlier.

"Governor Corzine failed to take a tough stance when Ferriero was indicted, instead allowing and promoting him as a delegate to the Democratic convention," Guadagno said.

Corzine has denied allegations that he made the donation to curry favor with Ferriero. He says he donated because he wanted to support his party in densely populated Bergen County, a crucial voting bloc.
