The position of LEED Trainer is part of the market leadership and service development focus areas of RISE. The main objective for this position is to conduct live LEED Green Associate exam preparation courses as a part of a newly developed service of Colliers. Responsibilities include all aspects of running a professional course, such as marketing and advertising, development of lecture materials, processing and invoicing registrants, holding live and interactive lectures, and offering quizzes and support to course participants. Course participants usually include local architects, engineers, and other design and construction professionals. The courses will be taught in English in the Southeast European countries where Colliers operates.

The LEED Trainer will begin the assignment in Belgrade, Serbia, where previous LEED exam prep courses have already been held in partnership with the United Stated Agency for International Development (USAID) Competitiveness Project in Serbia. Other courses will be carried out simultaneously or sequentially in Zagreb, Croatia and Athens, Greece. The courses usually meet one to two times per week for six to eight weeks with up to fifty participants per course, thus multiple courses may run concurrently in one or more locations.

Additionally, the LEED Trainer will act as a RISE Staff member and contribute time to other RISE activities. For example, RISE has carried out green building market research, developed green advisory tools for Colliers employees, and held trainings on other sustainability topics relating to real estate.

Initially, the LEED Trainer position will be a six-month placement, and the option of continuing with Colliers International, Southeast Europe, may be discussed upon completion of this assignment. The position begins immediately upon placement.

The position may include the following support from Colliers International: roundtrip airfare to the Southeast Europe region, necessary transportation within the region, housing in each location where trainings will take place, funding for select job materials, and monthly salary and/or commission to be negotiated - depending on experience.

Qualifications:

We will strongly preference applicants with the following qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field (engineering, architecture, building science, etc.) that can be applied towards critical evaluation of green building practices
• LEED® AP credential
• Teaching experience
• Academic, research, and/or work experience relating to the field of sustainable development, most specifically having to do with buildings (and their design, construction, and occupancy processes)
• International work and/or research experience
• Excellent public speaking ability and articulate writing skills
• Demonstrated capacity to work independently and on schedule, and to represent themselves professionally in an international setting
