Water Treatment Specialist (SWA)
Water Treatment Specialists inspect facilities and food supplies for the presence of disease, germs or other conditions hazardous to health and the environment. Water Treatment Specialists are primarily responsible for supervising or performing the installation and operation of water purification equipment, as well as dealing with water storage and distribution operations and activities.
Duties performed by Soldiers in this MOS include:
Assists in water reconnaissance, site preparation, and setup of water treatment activity. Operates and maintains water treatment equipment. Receives, issues, and stores potable water. Performs water quality analysis testing and verification.

Description of duties. Commands or exercises staff responsibility for units engaged in petroleum and/or water operations. Directs acquisition, storage, inspection, testing, issue and distribution of petroleum products and water. Serves in staff positions requiring petroleum and water experience. Determines bulk and packaged petroleum products and water requirements, storage space requirements, distribution system requirements, and quality surveillance requirements. Recommends location of petroleum and water pipe-line and hoseline routes, terminals, supply points, and depots; advises on water and bulk petroleum distribution system design. Directs preparation of reports and maintenance of records pertaining to petroleum accounting and distribution operations. Directs the operations and user maintenance of water and petroleum pipelines, hoselines, terminal, and dispensing systems. Plans, coordinates, and supervises loading and discharge of ocean-going tankers and other petroleum vessels. Performs and directs quality surveillance at point of procurement and throughout the petroleum distribution system. Directs operation of base or mobile laboratories in testing of petroleum products. Supervises performance of standard physical and chemical tests, evaluates test results to insure products meet Federal and military specifications, and recommends disposition of off-specification or captured petroleum products. Determines water requirements; establishes and directs operation of water purification, storage, distribution and issue systems in support of field operations. Develops, directs and coordinates water conservation programs when appropriate. Develops, directs, and coordinates unit proce¬dures and programs on the environmentally sound handling of petroleum, waste water, and water treatment chemicals. Monitors waste disposal procedures for waste produced by unit petroleum and water operations. Reports unit petroleum, waste water, and water treatment chemical spills per applicable laws, regulations, and policies. Monitors unit spill containment an clean up operations.
Special qualifications. Must be a graduate of the Petroleum Officers Course (POC), or have equivalent training and practical experience, or possess a degree in petroleum engineering or man¬agement, or training with industry.

The (JFOC) Instructor develops Programs of Instruction to cover the Tactics Techniques and Procedures (TTPs) for Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) and JFO. The JFOC Course Instructor conducts resident and mobile training team JFOC instruction to multi-service and coalition students. The JFOC Instructor operate and maintain the Call for Fire Trainers (CFFT) simulators, and maintains and prepares the JFO Program of Instruction (POI) and lesson plans by incorporating lessons learned doctrine, and current and evolving Tactics Techniques and Procedures TTPs from current operations into the POI. Instructors shall remain proficient in JTAC and JFO procedures. JTAC/JFO instructors/operators develop and/or review course material to improve effectiveness and maintain up-to-date instruction techniques. JTAC/JFO instructors/operators coordinate and recommend input in both written and digital format to the Joint and Combined Integration (JACI) Director, for distribution to FORSCOM, TRADOC and Air Combat Command to ensure the POI is current and incorporates the latest TTPs. The JTAC/JFO instructors/operators make recommendations in both written and digital format to the JACI Director concerning current developments in Joint Close Air Support (JCAS), Forward Air Control (FAC), and Terminal Air Control (TAC) procedures for input to all applicable Joint, Army, and Special Operations-related publications. A JFOC Instructor must meet training, technical and tactical certification of course content and document experience level requirements of the courses they deliver. The JFOC Instructor develops simulation mission scenarios and support JFO courseware.

Minimum Qualifications

Knowledge of regional and natural and cultural history, interpretive principles, media and techniques. Ability to communicate effectively and work with staff, volunteers and public; stimulate interest and lead people in various interpretive activities in the nature center and outside on the trails; assume assignments and complete them with adequate results.
