Legal Assistant - Collector's Office (Boone County (Columbia))

Responsibilities:
Provide administrative and clerical support for collector’s office in the areas of probate, bankruptcy and civil actions including providing assistance to the County Attorney with regards to collector’s functions. Cost Engineer - 2009-119-Columbia (Aiken, SC)

Project Time & Cost, Inc., an Atlanta, GA based international cost and forensic engineering firm is currently seeking Cost Engineers for Aiken, SC.

Description

These Cost Engineering positions will be primarily involved in providing cost engineering and consulting services for PT&C’s Department of Energy (DOE) client. All projects include work related to project controls, process management, scheduling, and estimating. Develop/analyze project Work Breakdown Structures for use in estimates and schedules Candidates will be responsible for the development, review, assessment, and validation of cost and schedule baselines for major Federal programs. The candidate will also provide streamlining of cost management for Operations and Maintenance for major environmental facilities. The candidate will work on a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of environmental & facilities related programs including: management consulting studies, development of independent government estimates, assessment of alternatives, development of programs and project management systems, and the development of resource loaded schedules. Provide Earned Value Management (EVM) support in review and validating the M&O contractor baseline (scope definition, cost estimating, BCWS profile, and schedule) in preparation for OECM review. Review and evaluation of M&O contractor EVM project performance reports, including identification of trends and recommend corrective actions to the DOE Federal Project Director (FPD).

Requirements

  • Hold an appropriate 4-year degree (or have a minimum of 10 years directly relevant cost engineering experience).



  • Two to ten years of experience in the cost engineering field (or in a related field of which two years must be in cost estimating).



  • These positions prefer technical knowledge of several types of work including: environmental remediation, nuclear decontamination and decommissioning, and demolition; construction of major facilities, power generation, and public infrastructure; and program-level operations process management. The ideal candidate would have worked for the DOE as an employee or contractor.



  • Ability to achieve AACEI certification as a CCT, CCE, or CCC within the first year of employment with Project Time & Cost, Inc.



  • Proficiency in computer skills including MS Office Suite.



  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply other cost estimating applications, such as MCACES 2nd Generation (MII).



  • Ability to rapidly learn and apply CPM scheduling applications, such as MS Project and Primavera.



  • Effective oral and written communication skills.



  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment.



  • Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in the production of deliverables and in interactions with fellow employees and client personnel.



  • Travel to client offices or job sites as required; certain assignments may require extensive travel.

IVR Programming in Nortel MPS/Periphonics

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidate will be responsible for the Department’s five applications, one of which is an outbound dialing application. These applications run on numerous Nortel MPS 500 systems, all of which are UNIX based and running Sun Solaris 10. This individual will be responsible for maintaining these various applications and voice files along with any changes needed including the ability to create and maintain documentation of these applications and voice files. In the near future the IVR will be upgraded and programming will be needed to take advantage of the new features such as the ability to program for Text to Speech and the ability to program for Voice Recognition.

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The Department of Labor and Industrial Relation is seeking a qualified IVR programmer (Computer Information Technology Specialist I). The ideal candidate should have working experience and knowledge of Nortel’s Media Processing Server (MPS) Developer software, and voice file modification and creation with Nortel’s MPS Studio software. Experience with Periphonics can be substituted for Nortel MPS. Knowledge of C programming is a plus and since the application has a COBOL backend, knowledge of COBOL is desirable.
