Crisis of this Culture-Healthcare
This was a "letter to the editor" in August 29th Jackson , MS newspaper.
Dear Sirs:
During my last night's shift in the ER, I had the pleasure of evaluating a patient with a shiny new gold tooth, multiple elaborate tattoos, a very expensive brand of tennis shoes, and a new cellular telephone equipped with her favorite R&B tune for a ringtone. Glancing over the chart, one could not help noticing her payer status: Medicaid. She smokes more than one costly pack of cigarettes every day and, somehow, still has money to buy beer.
And our Congress expects me to pay for this woman's health care? Our nation's health care crisis is not a shortage of quality hospitals, doctors or nurses. It is a crisis of culture — a culture in which it is perfectly acceptable to spend money on vices while refusing to take care of one's self or, heaven forbid, purchase health insurance. A culture that thinks "I can do whatever I want to because someone else will always take care of me." Life is really not that hard. Most of us reap what we sow.

America, Canada , all Europe ..... needs more Truth, Respect, Honor, and less political cunning lies, deceit.
This is MY COUNTRY - America - Founded "One Nation Under God"
Muslims, or anyone who wants to live under Islamic Sharia law, or any other law, should be told to get out of America , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Separately, American people angered some American Muslims by saying we support spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques, or other radical, socialist groups.
Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AMERICANS', MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Twin Towers on 9/11 , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Americans'.
'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom'. 'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society . Learn the language!'
'Most Americans believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools, and government buildings. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.'
'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why.. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.'
'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great American freedom,
'THE RIGHT TO LEAVE'.'
'If you aren't happy here then LEAVE. We didn't force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.'
Maybe if we circulate this , American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.
If you agree, please SEND THIS ON.

Original Framers of Our Government (Missouri)
Fellow Missourians and Americans;
The original framers of our government had intended the people and State governments would be larger and stronger than the Central (now Federal) government.
It was designed that the people would elect State legislatures House and Senate. However, on the Central (Federal) government level the people would elect
the Congressional House Representatives, but the State legislature (elected by the people) would appoint the Senate, this would create a check and balance
on government, and the Federal government. This was draft by A. Hamilton and J. Madison and J, Jay in 1787-1788.
In1913 the 17 th. amendment was added to the U.S. Constitution allowing the people to by popular vote elect the members. Through the years just what A. Hamilton,
J. Madison was concerned about has happened. The Federal government has grown into a monsterous enity, stealing powers designed for the States and the
people by violating the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
People without fear it is time to repeal the 17th. amendment where by returning the powers to the States and the people of America, the effect of which will be
stripping the Federal government of powers belonging to the people and the States.
Do you agree with the frames of our U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights? Do you agree the Federal government is to big? Do you want to take back your Country?
Will you join with me in this challenge to obama and Congress?
I don't get many e-mails at riclewi@yahoo.com, either I am the only one seeing this need and willing to fight for it, or-you tell me?

American Clean Energy and Security Act (Missouri)
Citizens of Missouri and America;
Recently you maybe seeing a lot of ads on T.V. by the League of Conservation Voters blaming Congressman Luetkemeyer for voting "NO" on the American Energy and Security Act, saying he sold out to big oil companies for the sum of $28,000 plus. H.R. 2454 is reported as being perhaps the single largest Tax increase in American history.
It obvivious these members of the League of Conservation Voters don't know the context of this bill that passed the House in Congress (219 yeas to 212 nays), or they just want to deceive the voters and discredit Congressman Luetkemeyer.
Here are some of the feed back on the Cost of H.R. 2454 (American Clean Energy and Security Act):
Cap-and-Trade's Cost to Americans: $1,761 per Household
Thursday, September 17, 2009 1:07 PM
By: Dan Weil Article Font Size
The Obama administration has concluded privately that a cap-and-trade law would cost every American household $1,761 a year — or a national total of nearly $200 billion a year, the equivalent of hiking personal income taxes by about 15 percent.
The previously unreleased Treasury Department analysis, which CBS News reported this week, says the new law would require new taxes between $100 billion to $200 billion a year. That’s how Treasury analysts arrived at the $1,761 per household figure.
"Given the administration's proposal to auction all emission allowances, a cap-and-trade program could generate federal receipts on the order of $100 to $200 billion annually," according to the document, which was written by Judson Jaffe, who joined the Treasury Department's Office of Environment and Energy in January.
Because personal income tax revenues bring in around $1.37 trillion a year, a $200 billion additional tax would be the equivalent of a 15 percent increase a year. A $100 billion additional tax would represent a 7 percent or 8 percent increase a year.
That finding has been echoed by other internal Obama administration documents on the subject.
"Economic costs will likely be on the order of 1 percent of GDP, making them equal in scale to all existing environmental regulation," according to a second memorandum that was prepared for Obama's transition team after the November election.
CBS reported these figures based on documents that the free-market Competitive Enterprise Institute obtained under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and released on Tuesday.
Other figures developed in studies for a new cap-and-trade law have been even more prohibitive.
House Republican Leader John Boehner has estimated that the additional tax bill would be at least $366 billion a year, or $3,100 a year per family. The Heritage Foundation says that, by 2035, "the typical family of four will see its direct energy costs rise by over $1,500 per year."
It is my opinion that Congressman Luetkemeyer did the right and responsible thing voting against this bill. It is my opinion and believe this bill is both irresponsible, destructive to American economy, and industries ability to compete worldwide market place, and it would only have minuscule affect on the environment not worth the cost vs benefits.
America is in serious trouble with the obama administration and democrat controlled Congress and I just pray we can make it to Nov. 02, 2010. It is will be a time of Congressional House Cleaning, we also have 1/3 rd. of the Senate up for replacing the liberal, professional politicans. This is the new slogan "Remember Nov. 02, 2010" ( if your up your out ).
Contact your State legislature and encourage them to take back your State's Sovereignty, also repeal the 17 th. Amendment which will begin restricting growth of the Federal government, and returning power to the People and the States as originally drafted by our founding Fathers.
you can contact me with any question, or for help how to do this.

Re:Healthcare reform unconstitutional (weapon2277)
You are absolutely right. The states need to stand up to the Federal Government and say NO!!! In order for the Federal Government to LEGALLY enact this healthcare legislation, they would need to be granted the authority to do so by the states. But we are not taught our true history in school and most Americans don't have any idea that the states have this ability! I have only recently come to scratch the surface of all that is wrong with our govenment and the complete mockery they've made of the U.S. Constitution. We need to pressure our state legislatures to stand up to the Federal Government. The Federal Government is so far removed from the people and they fail to recognize that what works well in New York is unlikely to work in Mississippi, and what works in California (as if anything does) is unlikely to work in Michigan. That is precisely the reason our Founders designed the government to originate at the state level, and then power could be delegated through constitutional amendements to the Federal Government as the STATES see fit.
Health-care Reform is UnConstitutional (Missouri)
Fellow Citizens;
The is nothing in the U.S.Constitution giving the Federal government power, or authority to reform Americas Health-care.
It is of great importance if you enjoy your Freedoms and Liberties to contact your members in the Senate and tell them to Vote "NO"on H.R. 3962, Kill the Bill, now.
It is the right time your representatives of the House and Senate in Congress to Vote NO on Cap and Trade, and Card Check also.
It is time to start taking back control of your government by telling your State Legislature, House and Senate to have your state join with our States to repeal the 17th. Amendment. The States have that power, it takes 2/3rd's of them joining together to make this happen. It will put power back in the hands of people instead of big government. It will reduce the size of the Federal government by restricting their power the way our Fore Fathers intended it to be.
Have questions e-mail me.
If America is going to survive, and if you want to protect your Freedoms and Liberties this is a must.

Health-care reform and AARP (Missouri)
Hello Missourians;
I urge you to contact AARP and tell them if they continue endorsing pelosi's health-care,
1.3 trillion dollars, 1990 pages health-care bill you will cancel your membership.
New York Times says Pelosi's bill is being called the "worst bill ever" -- with
over 1,000 instances of "taxes," "regulations," and other
government-control key words. And she wants a vote this
week. See below and forward this message to your friends.
The Wall Street Journal is calling Nancy Pelosi's 1,990-page
government takeover of health-care the "worst piece of post-New
Deal legislation ever introduced."
The Journal says it will create an "unrepealable middle class
entitlement" that will cause taxes to "rise precipitously" and
will result in "all medicine" being "rationed via politics." The
CBO cost estimate is coming in at $1.055 trillion and that's
just scratching the surface. The Journal says "ObamaCare will
be lucky to cost under $2 trillion over 10 years; it will grow
more after that."
Go here to access Wall Street Journal's excellent analysis of
what it calls the "worst bill ever":
We can and must stop this bill.
At noon today there will be a march on Capital Hill and Congress.
Call your members of the House and Senate at 12:00 to 2:00 pm
Senator Bond 202-224-5721
Senator McCaskill 202-224-6154
Rep. Luetkemeyer 202-225-2956
Tell them you strongly oppose pelosi health-care bill, Vote "NO"
to increased spending, Taxes, government interventionin your health-care
and not to touch your benefits.
Respectfully,
Richard Lewis
Write your members of Congress (Missouri)
Hello Americans, and Missourians.
I want to encourage you to write, or call your Congressional house of representatives and senators as well as many others that you can. Let them know you oppose the health-care transformation (it is not a reform, as they plan to completely rewrite, revamp America's health-care) that is coming to the floor they will be required to vote on. Harry Reid said, it will contain some sort of public option (government run health-care, government control, increase taxes,etc...) whgich most Americans oppose.
Here are some copies of letters others have written as well as myself:
Dear Congressman,
We have been long aware that President Obama’s health insurance plans will force rationing because of a need for additional doctors and the so-called ‘death panels” which will in fact decide who lives and dies. Now America’s Health insurance plans tells us that household plans will go up by almost $2,000.00. Other estimates have that even higher. And that’s only the beginning.
This whole thing is a disaster, unworkable, and smacks of the big government takeover one would expect from someone of Barack Obama’s background (whatever, exactly, that background is).
This is all simple: we don’t want it. If you vote for it, then we don’t want you. Ever. All of us. You need to get out of DC and back to some town hall meetings where we can give you an earful.
Are you going to commit policial suicide and cram this health care down our throats?
Again.
Dear Congressman,
I’ll get straight to the point. Even the health insurance companies now think this plan is a nightmare. Polls show nobody wants it. We’re not stupid. I’m not stupid.
Reports are coming in that Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Hussein Obama are going to employ devious legislative shenanigans in an attempt to sneak ObamaCare past the American people... they're going to try to pass it by stealth... before anyone is any the wiser. Are you going to commit policial suicide and cram this health care down our throats?
I suggest you come back here to your district again for an extended vacation, so we can hold some more town hall meetings again with you as the guest speaker. It seems to me that you didn’t get our message the first time.
We don’t want it.
Dear Congressman,
Reports are coming in that Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Barack Hussein Obama are going to employ devious legislative shenanigans in an attempt to sneak ObamaCare past the American people... they're going to try to pass it by stealth... before anyone is any the wiser. Are you going to commit policial suicide and cram this health care down our throats?
I hope you have the common sense not to vote for Obama’s horrible health care plan that even the insurance business doesn’t like.
I wonder: If you had a congressman who voted in defiance of your desires when you were in the vast majority, would you think he was involved in doing your business, or something else?
Vote NO on Obamacare. We will assume that a "yes" vote for it is your resignation from office. Rely on it. We’re not stupid.
Dear Congressman,
I’m outraged that you would even consider voting on Obama health care when the vast majority of Americans, as every poll shows, angrily oppose it.
You don’t listen to polls. You don’t listen to us at town hall meetings. You don’t listen to our written voices. You don’t get it. You are in our house, not the other way around.
If you don’t shut down congress the way Newt Gingrich did in the 1990’s when he DID listen to to the people (and I’m no Gingrich fan), your political future is likely at an end. I shall remember you come election time, congressman. We all will. Many millions of us, as we wait for years for critical surgery which is needed in days because you ruined a good thing: the American health care system.
One way or another there’s a revolution brewing, congressman. You can be one of the good guys or one of the bad guys. Your time is up: Are you going to commit policial suicide and cram this health care down our throats?
Decide.
I have written most of the Senators, all the Blue Dog Coalition, and I am writing many of the other members of the house.
Thank you for lending your voice in helping to control a government out of control. What else will obama and his Chicago mob, and radical friends try to take over? How more irresponsible spending will he try to slip past the American public? Tell Congress it is time they started representing us and take control of our government.
Thank you
Richard Lewis
RE:Re:re:Pro-choice interviewees
Previous poster said:
""A womans convienance" oh, yeah because a woman schedules an abortion like she schedules a haircut."
What the heck does that statement have to do with the previous post? The previous poster said that we shouldn't allow the killing of an unborn child for the sake of a woman's convenience. You are trying to make some point about abortion appointments or something? Huh? The point was that women get abortions so they won't have to deal with the inconvenience of giving birth or raising the child.
Look, I'm all for people who don't want a baby either preventing pregnancy or giving the baby to loving parents for adoption, but killing an innocent unborn child because allowing it to be born would not be convenient is something that anyone with a conscience should find abhorrant.
I agree with the statement that the time for "choice" is before having sex, and there is a large number of pregnancy prevention choices available to both men and women. If you are mature enough to have sex, you need to be mature enough to take responsibility for your actions.
