Network Customer Support Job Description (TX)
JOB DESCRIPTION:
35% Maintenance - Configure SBCIS routers to enable client connectivity; confirm and route IPs assigned for client use – route parent pools when necessary to activate client’s connection. Handle special configurations (load balancing, IP advertisement, VPNs, MPLS).
15% Maintenance - Activation, support/changes, and trouble escalations. Activate and support various VPN and DIA product offerings. Intermediate understanding of MPLS networking.
20% Maintenance - Troubleshoot connectivity problems (Tier II and III level) by examining configuration of routers and circuit mapping through switches
10% Maintenance - Service Level Expert assistance for DataComm technicians, field engineers and clients’ WAN consultants to ensure proper configuration of wide variety of routers and transport types and proper configuration of circuits leading to successful customer connectivity
20% Maintenance - Provide high-level engineering support for Dedicated Services and Support personnel and engineers. Also incidental support for Dedicated Engineering. DSS Team Leads have the greatest access to customer-facing equipment within SBCIS (Southwest, West, SBCT, Midwest, and SNET), as well as complete autonomy regarding customer configurations (can make changes administratively). Handle special projects such as FRATM migrations and POP moves. Assist in training of engineers and team leads, etc for Dedicated Support & Services questions, conference calls to clients with coordinators and new product core team calls.

I/S Analyst - SCADA (San Antonio, TX)
Description:
Develop, design, implement and maintain pipeline SCADA and associated systems including related interfaces, communications, batch tracking and leak detection systems. Maintain SCADA system hardware and software. Develop and implement SCADA changes and enhancements. Provide support of critical SCADA production systems, 7 days-a-week, 24 hours a day, to ensure continuous production system availability. Consult with management and users to define system specifications to achieve economical and practical solutions. Perform complex research and maintenance activity, including vendor coordination to ensure that all published departmental service levels and objectives are met. Analyze, define, and implement moderately complex projects in terms of business objectives within time and cost estimates, with a minimal amount of supervision.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field highly preferred. Minimum three years of related I/S, SCADA or control systems experience required. Ideal experience consists of SCADA systems development and support. Experience working with the Telvent OASYS and LMS products is strongly preferred. Requires thorough understanding of pipeline operations and associated pipeline control functions, which include distributed control concepts, VSAT communications, telemetry related communications protocols and SCADA applications. Requires effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Requires strong technical and functional skills, and the ability to organize and track multiple simultaneous tasks. Excellent communication skills are required. Requires strong interpersonal skills for communication with a diversified user community and outside vendors. Candidate should also have a good working knowledge of networks, Windows operating systems, relational databases, programming techniques, PLCs or DCSs, MS SQL, IIS and MS Office suite. Some travel will be required based on project assignments.
