I live in Ingleside but am currently working a job in Durango, CO. In Durango, on Hwy 160 that goes all the way through town, there is a bridge project with signs at either end that states it was funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, aka the fucked up stimulus package. This project is currently on hold and will most likely be scrapped because not only did they not realize and/or give a shit where they did this, these roads are likely intruding on some kind of sacred Indian (Ute) burial grounds. There's you some foresight and planning while using YOUR tax dollars. The locals call it the bridges to nowhere and that's exactly what they are because as you drive by any day of the week there is no change in progress. I've been up here two weeks and nothing on the site has moved. What a fucking waste of US tax money this is and now they're wanting to RAM this health care bullshit up our collective asses??! Fucking socialists...

Craig Robinson's job is safe for this year.

Has anyone had this problem: i overdraft from the bank 100dlrs without noticing(wich was my fault) but the next day i made a deposit, so now am thinking i payed back the 100dlrs to the bank and now am left with x amount, so now the bank charges me with 38 dlrs 7 times, without telling me warning me etc. so am still in my mind that i still got money in the bank, so guess what i spent 50 dlrs and now i owe the bank 50 dlrs because the bank drain my account with those overdraft charges, does anyone have had this problems with this bank??? what can i do

I got an e-mail stating that I was for not regulating hunting and fishing because I had advocated not buying a hunting or fishing liscense. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind that they regulate what you can take from the wild. I just don't think they should be stopping it all together and say you can't fish or hunt. Buy not buying a liscense, you are protesting the possible closure of fishing waters. I do not advocate taking of giant reds or undersized deer. I just think we have a right to hunt and fish. By the way, who says that people don't already break the rules. When I was a kid, I saw a guy take a giant red off the Port Aransas jetties. Thing had to be 50 inches or more. I am sure he put it in his trunk and headed home. Poaching is a real problem. But if push comes to shove, the government won't get my money so they can close my favorite fishing spot.

buying online.I try to tell everybody I know, get a local referral and you can almost always get just as good of a deal(or better) with a local seller of any product or service.You just need to connect with locals that are smart enough to know that they have not been ripped-off locally.Many of the best deals on products or services are found at businesses that do not advertise.Some are right here on craigslist but again you must be careful.

Well, we had a pretty fun exchange over this supject for a few days but here is what I know about buying online now.
Some of what the guys had to say was true so if you're thinking about doing this, please read this.
Yes, the systems are charged on the compressor side but what those camel jockies neglect to tell you is that they only have a partial charge and the air handler is charged with NITROGEN... What the hell is that all about? I sure as hell didnt read that on their kick ass web pages!
Next - Sure, they'll send it to you but IF and/or WHEN something goes wrong, YOU have to pay a tech to come out, suck it down, disconnect it and then YOU have to ship it back to BFE -- Here's an interesting point, that sand nigger told me that you can ship the complete system back to him overnight to FLORIDA for "$30 to $40" dollars. Sure, you can... I knew he was a lieing SOB from that point forward.
If the unit hits your yard and is dented up, screwed up and beat all to hell during shipment... uhhhhhh tough shit.. you then have to fight the carrier.
In conclusion, I never got straight answers from the 4 or 5 HABIBS that I finally got to call me back about this purchase and I must admit, alot of the shit those guys spewed was fairly true. I have since hired a VERY LOCAL contractor and he will be installing a American Standard in my home early next week.

Loyalty goes both ways and if anyone is stupid enough to pay twice as much for the equipment and then add on a shit load of labor and "other" to have 5 guys stand around in your house for a week (and still not get done) then I say more power to them.
Case study - I called for a very LARGE roofing company to come out and quote my new roof project and after 10 calls over the course of several days, I never received the quote. I eventually decided to do it myself and now the contractor (4 months later) is pissed because he didnt get the job!!! UHHHHH WHAAAATTTT???? If the job took half as long as the quote did, we were in real trouble.
Hell, if I could get ONLINE and buy authentic Ford and Harley factory parts for HALF the price of the parts department here locally, which do you think would be the best choice? Ya so I hope the AC guy does what we expect him to do and fuck him over and that will be OK because he saved enough on the equipment up front so he could afford hiring a few different guys before someone gets it right. ... Sweat on those ideas because I assure you,,, they are catching on and alot of us out here are tired of getting the screws put to us everytime we try to help a local contractor.

So, as I was reading through craigslist bored this evening I came across something that kinda made me sad. I grew up in Rockport, graduated, moved to Corpus, then to San Antonio and eventually have been privileged to live in different parts of the US and overseas. I will never forget my little hometown, its where I grew up at, where I know my real home to have been, and where my loving family brought me up to be the person I am today. I remember fishing on the boat with my dad off Palm Harbor and Redfish Camp, the 4th of July airshow every summer, the Oysterfest etc etc... I haven't been back there in years, and for the first time in at least 15 years, this weekend I will be down in Corpus Christi and the surrounding area with my spouse and kids. I came across this website on CL of San Antonio...and the pics that I saw of Rockport on this website made me sad. I dont quite remember where most of these streets are in Rockport, but I definitely don't remember this little town to look as trashy as these pictures portray it to be. Wow. What happend to city leaders and code enforcement that there was once in Rockport ? So sad, sad, sad.....Below is the link to the website...I wonder if these are recent pics. Either way, regardless of the pictures someone took and posted online of people's yards, I remember Rockport as a happy place, where I was still being protected from the "real" world out there, where I grew up at, and where I will never forget to visit, even if it is every few years. I will always remember the little "rich" elderly man down the street whom always bought me fruit and candy and dropped them off for me on his way home from the store, the fun fishing memories, and my first ride ever on a boat. Thanks Rockport for giving me such rich and happy memories! :)

I understand the last persons post about the place being busy. If I pull up and there are several cars in front, I don't expect to get out in 5 mins. I do, however, expect to be treated courteously. I am not someone who gets loud and obnoxious. I do have manners amd say please and thank you. I expect the same in return. When I pull up and am the only car in line or just one other car, I don't think I should wait 25 minutes for my food unless there is some kind of crazy circumstance. Honestly I don't think that is unreasonable... OH and I have worked in fast food before and currently work in a customer service centered field - just in case you were wondering....

I work at a fast food place and all I'm saying is..when you pull up and see 10 cars in the drive thru dont expect to get out in 5 minutes or less,also complaining about how long its taking when you just got to the window isnt exactly the best way to speed things up.I dont know about BK downtown but at least where I work we are trying to get things out as fast as possible and people complaining when they saw it was packed when they got there is just annoying.

Yep, you're right about not having to yield where there isn't a sign, normally. This now is in effect mainly on the WEST-bound side of the freeway where they have changed the entrance/exit ramps around, which they should have done in the first damn place. However, this doesn't account for our numerous drunks, derelicts and other Corpus drivers that seem to regularly take aim at these poles along the roadways. My point is, look on BOTH sides of the road....in other words, USE FRIGGIN COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!! Oh wait, this is Corpus I'm talkin about, most aren't able to do that and/or don't give a rat's ass.

I work downtown and have worked downtown since before this particular Burger Place opened. I was SO excited to finally have one close by so that when I did forget to make my lunch, or just needed to get out of the office, I could enjoy a burger from there. At first it was not bad.. Then it went down hill fast!!! I had the same experience as the original poster almost 2 years ago! After being pulled up for 25 minutes (for a BURGER no less), when I finally got it, it was cold and completely wrong! The service was absolutely HORRIBLE and the cashier was probably one of the rudest cashiers I have ever seen! I called to complain to the manager, but never went back to have my order remade, as I had spent all of my allotted lunch time in line! Honestly, I have not been back since, and obviously it has not changed... And for the people who keep saying that we should make our own sandwich, I usually do.. AND, you shouldn't have to wait in line at a FAST FOOD restuarant for 45 minutes... A sit down restaurant, yes, but a burger joint - HELL NO!

Assuming that they are on time frame and have no time to stop at home to get it. But we are supposed to make someone rich on our dime, but on their time. Which is supposed to be "fast". So, now you do the math. We pay for convenience, and when that has turned into an inconvenience, it is a waste of our time, and our money. So, yes, maybe if the lazy food service in cc is going to inconvenience us, we should pack a lunch instead. but that is not the point here. if it says its fast food, we want it fast, and now. not 30-65 minits later than what we were promised. get it? got it? good.
