Socially Minded Small Business (Downtown Dayton)

The Victory Project is a successful, grassroots not-for-profit who is currently enrolling court-involved & disadvantaged young men onto our entrepreneurial apprenticeship team. We have activities six nights a week, including life-skills, tutoring, business etiquette, we also offer spiritual growth classes for those interested. We have dinner every night for our team members, volunteers and staff. Our facility also offers computers, Mac (w/Adobe CS4 Master Collection), PC's, weight room, boxing equipment, video games and pool table. The business model is called, Street Testament Apparel, we intend to develop, design and market our own line of urban clothing. With the overall intention of creating an exit for those trapped in the cycle of crime and poverty. We are looking for bright, self-motivated, outgoing individuals in your area to work on the Survey of Consumer Finances (SCF) 2010. SCF is a study occurring every three years which gains critical insights into the economic circumstances of American families. It is the only systematic source of data available to policy-makers concerned with inflation, unemployment, interest rates, and national saving.



What is a field interviewer?

Field Interviewers talk to people from every conceivable walk of life, either by telephone or in person, to obtain information on issues that will affect social policy.
They administer carefully developed, field-tested questionnaires to respondents, either printed or on laptop computers.
Field Interviewers earn an hourly salary paid plus mileage and travel expenses.
NORC offers flexible non-traditional work hours with retirement benefits subject to eligibility


Required Experience
We want you to be successful on this project. Below are the expectations for the position:

Must be available during the field period of April to December 2010.
Must complete an extensive home study over the Internet prior to in person training. This cannot be completed in one sitting (~8 hours). The completed home study will be monitored prior to training by your assigned Field Manager and Field Management staff.
Work productively and efficiently which is typically 25-30 hours each week, a minimum of 3-4-nights a week (5pm-9pm) and at least one weekend day throughout the field period, as your caseload dictates.
Respond to feedback on the quality of your work by showing measurable improvement
Participate in weekly calls with your FM
Participate in group calls as needed
Transmit with your computer every day
Enter your time and expenses before midnight on Saturday every week
Check email daily
Enter detailed ROCs (records of contacts) as you work your cases
Meet cost and production goals (they will be evaluated on a rolling basis every 2-4 weeks)
Pass regular validation checks on completed cases
Have reliable transportation with required insurance coverage as well as a good driving history.
Sign a release allowing a background check and Motor Record Vehicle check.

Clinical Supervisor (Dayton, Ohio)

Responsible for the direct supervision of staff who serve youth in foster care and for the supervision of clinical programming. Job duties include, but are not limited to reviewing, assigninng and coordinating the facilitation of services to youth as referred by the Intake Coordinator; reviews individual service plans, diagnostic assessments, and quarterly progress reports; assists with foster home recruitment and develops and implements training plans for foster parents and treatment staff.

A Master's Degree in social work from an accredited college, or university, and three years of experience in the field of youth services is required. Must have a strong mental health background and supervisory experience. Must hold a current LISW, PCC, or its equivalent as required by state law and/or regulatory bodies. Summary:

Requirements and Special Skills:

•Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
•Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the areas of adult learning theory, application, and curriculum design. Previous teaching or training experience necessary.

On Call House Manager (Xenia, OH)

The On Call House Manager (substitute staff member without a regular schedule) is a responsible for substitute coverage of the 24-hour crisis hotline and for overseeing and carrying out the structured residential housing program schedule and activities. This position is responsible for understanding and promoting the mission and values of the Family Violence Prevention Center. On-Call workers may be called with less than 24-hour notice is a regular schedule House Manager is not able to perform their duties and also may be scheduled in advance to support house manager vacations, sick days, jury duty, etc. FVPC will provide necessary training for CPR, CPI, Red Cross/First Aid Certification.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Respond to crisis hotline calls
- Provide crisis intervention, support, information, referral, education and safety planning to victims of domestic violence, and document calls
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of the Crisis Hotline policies and procedures and bring questions or issues to the Director of Client Services in a timely fashion
2. Work with clients
- Screen victims requesting shelter, determine eligibility for admission, and arrange for shelter admission
- Conduct the intake process, including documentation, belongings search, and room assignment
- Respond to resident needs within the shelter (meals, request for medication, cigarettes), share in coverage duties, and consistently implement house rules
- Respond to emergency situations and report unusual incidents or facility/client problems to the On-call Supervisor via cell phone or home phone
3. Assist in shelter/facility management
- Oversee residential program structure during shift
- Housekeeping duties, as necessary, needed to ensure the health and operations of the facility; including, but not limited to, meal preparation, trash collection, and laundry
- Monitor security of the facility during shift; monitor security cameras, intercom system, gates, and armed security system
- Conduct hourly room checks/security checks during evening and night shifts
- Participate in shift report at shift exchange
4. Secondary Responsibilities
- Document case activity in each resident file (at least once per shift) and maintain other necessary records including phone logs, shift log, incident reports, etc
- Assist in compiling monthly service statistics and maintaining an up-to-date file on all crisis calls received at the shelter
- Maintain up-to-date CPR and Red Cross/First Aid certification
- Supervise volunteers on shift, as assigned
- Adhere to all agency policies and procedures
- Other appropriate duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field highly preferred or working towards education. Equivalent experience may be substituted for B.A. degree, LSW preferred. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily.
