We are currently seeking a CAD Technician with Substation/Electric Power Generation experience. This position will perform Computer Aided Drafting and provide other assistance to Electrical Engineers as needed.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
• Create and edit electrical drawings to meet specifications utilizing CAD
• Provide needed drawings to requestors as approved by Engineer
• Review drawings to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards
• Assist Engineer with project tasks as assigned
• Initiate follow-up to update documentation when any changes may occur
• Accurately complete paperwork for project tracking costs
• Perform database entry
• Classify and file engineering drawings
• Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe and efficient manner
• Maintain a positive attitude with team
• Maintain good public relations
• Perform other duties as assigned/needed

REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have excellent computer knowledge and problem solving skills. Must have knowledge of drafting and experience with CAD and Microsoft Office. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting or equivalent experience. Must be knowledgeable in advanced CAD techniques. Must be knowledgeable in Autodesk AutoCAD 2007 or higher. Or, any other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for the job.

PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES:
Ability to perform low impact physical tasks. May involve lifting of up to 50 lbs.

LICENSING OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
CAD Certification may be required.

• Design, implement, and improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, and systems for commercial, industrial, and utility purposes.
• Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks.
• Direct and coordinate construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
• Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish construction and installation standards and specifications.
• Inspect completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
• Plan and implement methodologies and procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineering projects.
• Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment and/or the solicitations of labor.
• Supervise and train project team members as necessary.
• Oversee project construction efforts to assure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time and within budget.
• Prepare and study technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, and topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations conform to standards and customer requirements.
