*High on Arrival ~ McKenzie Phillips.. Memoir (Hardcover) (Santa Clara- Eugene) $9

This is a great book, hard to put down. A powerful vivid memoir of Mackenzie Phillips, growing up on the razor's edge of TV stardom, and drug fueled sexual delusion's of her father- Wow. In addition to the rapid page turning, I constantly had to ask myself "Did I really just read that?" A must read that will most likely be read in only one to two sittings. Her honesty is amazing! In “High on Arrival,” the actress and singer writes about the brutal, drug-filled life she lived as a daughter of a rock star, John Phillips of The Mamas & the Papas, and the taboo relationship she had with him. 'lightly used' This book retail is $25.00 Call or email if interested 541-543-7186

Still Lot's of Law Books (West Eugene) $5

have probably nearly 100 law books. Some are very recent, some are a little older. All are in great shape.

I would like to get 5$ a book individually, or will make a deal if you take a bunch of them. Cash only please.

If you are interested, let's arrange to have you look at them, I don't want to try to get the title of each one and send it in email, better if you just look and see what you want.

I will probably take a few days to reply to emails as I want to set up a time for multiple people to look at the books so I don't have to keep pulling them up from the basement every time someone wants to see them.

Thanks

Never Have Your Dog Stuffed by Alan Alda
Hardback, 272 pages, $3 ($24.95 new) or $1.67 if you buy all three books.

Amazon.com Review
Alan Alda's autobiography travels a path less taken. Instead of a sensationalist, name-dropping page-turner, Alda writes about his life as a memory play, an exercise in recollecting his childhood, his parents (dad Robert was a veteran on stage, film, and vaudeville), and his career. You want to know about Alda's most famous work, the eleven years on M*A*S*H? You have exactly 16 pages to do so, and guess what: It's one of the least entertaining parts of the book. But should fans of the award-winning actor-writer-director avoid this slim memoir? Not in the slightest. Slyly humorous and open-hearted, Never Have Your Dog Stuffed is a breezy, most enjoyable read. Alda's ability to recall his childhood (including backstage at raunchy vaudeville shows), school years, stage struggles and successes is as entertaining as one of his Emmy-winning teleplays. Alda is inordinately attune recalling life's crystallizing moments: when religion no longer worked for him, how something in his pocket made him forever a better actor, or his mother's painful descent into dementia. Alda's ever present humor is a great asset whether telling a charming love story on meeting his wife Arlene or a life-threatening illness in a remote part of Chile ("I am in and out of consciences, but I never take a break from the screaming. The show must go on."). Like Alda's persona, his book is more human and less flash. What would be filler in most books is often the mot entertaining and revealing here; especially Alda's dynamic relationship with his parents. Really, who else would name his memoir after an unfortunate trip to the taxidermist? The year the book was published during a revival for the 69-year-old; he was nominated for an Oscar, Emmy, and Tony in the same year. --Doug Thomas --This text refers to the Hardcover edition.

From Publishers Weekly
While listening to Alda's colorful and often poignant recollections, it becomes clear that, in addition to being a consummate actor, he is an introspective storyteller who isn't constrained by memory. Indeed, Alda's tales are sometimes surreally vivid, particularly those from when he was a toddler. "From my earliest days, I was standing off to the side watching, trying to understand a world that fascinated me," he recalls. Alda's autobiography is equally fascinating. With a touch of wonderment in his voice, he tells of weeks spent traveling with his father's burlesque company, of time spent with his dog Rhapsody (before he was stuffed), of a lifetime spent coping with his mother's mental illness and of the highs and lows of his acting career. Though the organization of these musings can feel disjointed, Alda's intimate, dynamic narration makes one feel as if you're sitting across from a wise and entertaining friend, the kind you could listen to for hours.

Multiple Blessings by Jon & Kate Gosselin
Hardback, 208 pages, $3 ($19.99 new) or $1.67 if you buy all three books.

From Publishers Weekly
Infertility treatments, twins, more infertility treatments, followed by six beating hearts on an ultrasound screen. That sets up the Gosselins' memoir of the exhausting and joyous events surrounding the births of their now famous sextuplets. Those familiar with the TLC program Jon & Kate Plus 8 know how their household runs; now their story comes alive for readers as well. Kate admits, "I was a bit of a control freak," yet also quickly draws on and receives the "peace of God... like a security blanket" through her months in the hospital, Jon's job loss and the impending arrivals. Details such as how they chose names; the sextuplets' birth day of May 10, 2004; and the babies' weeks in the neonatal intensive care unit are fascinating, as are stories of running a household that was perpetually full of volunteers, looked like "baby base camp" and required carefully sequenced nightly bath time. The Gosselins' life is a whirlwind, with their book reflecting the fast-paced, faith-filled approach they take to raising their twins and their miracle sextuplets. (Nov.)

Product Description
In Multiple Blessings, Kate Gosselin shares the gripping details of her rollercoaster ride of emotional highs and lows when she discovered she and her husband, Jon, would be expecting sextuplets while still basking in the light of their twin girls' toddlerhood. Strongly encouraged to consider selective reduction for the sake of both mother and babies, she and Jon instead decided to accept the extreme challenge God had handed them. After suffering the long and winding road of infertility, the young couple felt stressed but blessed as they fought valiantly to help their babies survive the fight for their lives. Kate reveals excerpts from her private journal as she describes the daily struggle to carry the babies for thirty weeks. In addition to their uphill medical battle, the family suffered many emotional setbacks such as the loss of Jon's job, forcing the pair to look to God as their sole provider and sustainer of life.

After the miraculous birth, the couple coped with months of neonatal intensive care for their newborns as well as Kate's physical recovery from such complete and prolonged bed rest. Later as the entire family of ten finally arrived home reeling with exhaustion, they still managed to feed, bathe, clothe, and monitor the health of their fragile infants as a steady parade of necessary and helpful volunteers turned their home and family life into a public arena.

The young family lived moment to moment at first, not knowing what each new day would bring and how they would survive on such depleted sleep, money, and emotional reserves. However, as the months progressed, they grew into the next stage of development, proudly letting go of yesterday and looking forward to a brighter and ever-changing tomorrow. Their small home was soon filled to capacity with six cribs, six bouncy seats, several changing tables, never-ending piles of laundry, tubs of colorful toys, stacks of diapers, cartons of formula, rows and rows of bottles, bibs and pacifiers, two triplet strollers, six car seats, and so on. Yes, life was hectic and cramped, but with each major milestone Jon and Kate rejoiced at the miracles that unfolded around them. The crew of six growing babies along with their proud big sisters, Madelyn and Cara, did their part to fill those rooms with squawking, squealing, laughing, and of course, a healthy dose of crying. Kate and Jon eventually came out of the fog of the first precarious two years feeling eternally grateful for the love and support of family, friends, community, and indeed a nation. More important, they felt the ever present hand of a faithful God upholding them and giving them just enough strength and courage to take one day at a time.

My Father's Daughter by Tina Sinatra
Hardback, 320 pages, $3 ($22.95 new) or $1.67 if you buy all three books.

Publisher Comments
"My father didn't die-- he escaped."
He was a movie star, the king of nightclubs, the definitive recording artist of his time. He stamped his sense of style on the postwar generation. His death at 82 was mourned the world over by people who heard his music as the soundtrack of their lives, and who saw him as one of their own.

Frank Sinatra seemed to have it all: genius, wealth, the love of beautiful women, glamorous friends from Las Vegas to the White House. Why then would Tina Sinatra, his younger daughter, refer to his death as an "escape"? What happened to make his life so difficult?

In this startling and remarkably outspoken memoir, Tina Sinatra reveals to us an acutely restless, lonely and conflicted man — especially in affairs of the heart. Through his marriages and front-page romances and the melancholy gaps between, Frank Sinatra searched for a contentment that eluded him. He was drawn to gifted, talented women, but when they failed to provide the support and attention he needed, he became angry and frustrated.

Tina Sinatra's view of her father was unique. The youngest of three children, she was born during his first flush of stardom, six months before he left her mother, Nancy, to pursue actress Ava Gardner.

By the time Tina entered school, her father had married Ava, the great passion of his life. Tina liked Ava, found her "easy to be with, and...genuinely interested in us." A dozen years later, Tina would form a close friendship with her father's third wife, Mia Farrow, only three years Tina's senior.

Through these years Frank Sinatra continued to remain devoted to his three children — and to their mother as well, for this is also the portrait of an extraordinary bond and a very special kind of family.

Then Barbara Marx appeared on the scene. A former Vegas showgirl, she quickly severed her ties to husband Zeppo Marx (known as the "unfunny Marx Brother"). She soon became Sinatra's constant companion and eventually his fourth wife.

Tina initially welcomed Barbara, and hoped the relationship would provide her father with the attention he needed. But it wasn't long before Tina came to fear that Barbara was trying to erase Sinatra's children from his life.

She was forced to watch helplessly as her father, running from his own discontent, pursued a grueling performance schedule well into his seventies. She saw him risk his health and his own proud professional standards. Worst of all, she saw her father become joyless, beaten down, and depressed.

Tina became alienated for a time — an estrangement that ended when Sinatra fell gravely ill. Over the last eighteen months of his life she became closer to him than ever, as she came fully to understand the complex emotional package of the brightest, most enduring star of our age.

My Father's Daughter, with its unflinching account of Sinatra's flaws and foibles, will shock many of his fans. At the same time, it is a deeply affectionate portrait written with love and warmth, a celebration of a daughter's fond esteem for her father and respect for his great legacy.

The world remembers Frank Sinatra as one of the giants of show business. In this book from someone inside the legend, Tina Sinatra remembers him as something more: a father, and a man.

Synopsis
A startling, compelling, yet affectionate portrait of an American entertainment legend by his youngest daughter, who for the first time writes about the man, his life, the accusations, and about the many people who surrounded him — wives, friends, lovers, users, and sycophants — from his Hoboken childhood through the notorious "Rat Pack," and beyond.
Complete with many never before seen photographs taken directly from family albums, and placing special emphasis on his later years and his marriage to Barbara Marx Sinatra, Tina's personal exploration of this difficult final period in her father's career will solidify our image of Sinatra as a great performer and reinforce him as something even greater: as a father, and as man.

Collection of 232 Wrestling Magazines with 4 free videos and old trunk (South Eugene) $200

I have a huge wrestling magazine collection for sale. I just don't have the room to keep them anymore. I will include four videos for free as well as the trunk the magazines are currently in. I'll even load it on my handtruck and help you to your car or truck.

The videos are:

The history of the WWF Championship
Andre The Giant
Hulkamania
Starrcade 85

There are 232 magazines, all in photo albums with each magazine in it's own protective plastic sleeve so they can be turned like pages without removing them as you can see in the pictures.
I have typed out more details that won't fit here and I can supply that by email to any serious inquiries. The magazines are in excellent condition and I would say that 99 percent of them still look and feel new because I was pretty serious as a teenager with keeping them protected. Some are dated back to the sixties and are also in great shape.

Look at the pictures and feel free to email me with any questions you might have.
