Clinician, Mental Health

Juneau Youth Services is a comprehensive behavioral health provider for children and youth, and their families in Alaska's capital city, Juneau.
We began operations in 1961 and currently provide a full array of emergency, residential, and community-based programs, including both mental health and chemical dependency services.
We are seeking an experienced clinician to provide outpatient mental health and chemical dependency treatment, and assist in clinically supervising chemical dependency services within our youth behavioral health agency. The position provides assessments and individual, family, and group counseling services. The position ensures that services in the client treatment plan are implemented in accordance with best practices and in compliance with documentation requirements. The position coordinates with multiple staff at Juneau Youth Services as well as external agencies. Candidates must demonstrate awareness and application of: developmental theory, family dynamics, mental illness/ substance abuse, and behavioral principles. A masters degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field is required. A minimum of two years post graduate clinical experience is required; preference will be given to licensed and licensed-eligible candidates.

National Program Focus: AmeriCorps members serve in both teams and individually through national and community-based private and public organizations. Members help solve community problems through direct and indirect service in the areas of eduation, public safety, the environment and other human needs such as health and housing.

Local Program Focus: Camp Fire USA AmeriCorps members will help provide after-school and summer programs for at-risk youth in low-income areas in Grand Rapids by providing these program opportunities, children and youth will have a safe and secure environment during the most violent times for juvenile crime. These programs also build developmental assets, which are the foundation for becoming successful and productive adults.

Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen, national or legal permanent resident alien of the U.S. and a high school graduate or GED recipient.

We have part-time member positions available. The one year term begins now and ends 8/27/10. Part-time members receive a $6,300 living allowance, extensive training, and an education award of $2,362.50 upon successful completion of the program.

Bridgeway Community Church is a young, family centered community, seeking a full time Director of Children’s Ministry to bring the love of Christ into the hearts of children infant through 4th grade. The mission of our church is “To turn spiritually hungry people into fully devoted followers of Christ” and we are driven to help people connect with God in their spiritual journey. Applicants must be mature in their walk, have gifts of leadership, be innovative, and have a shepherd's heart for children and the many volunteers that make the children’s ministry possible. We use “252 Basics” for our elementary curriculum and also do a quarterly Family Ministry event on Sunday morning for a shared family worship experience. Each week 100-150 children attend Bridgeway and these kids are disciples in the making, ready to make Jesus a part of their life.

Requirements:
Strong commitment to God, the leadership team, and children’s ministry.
Excited to be a vibrant part of Bridgeway community life through weekly worship services, House Church, and serving the community as part of our local evangelism.
Able to cast vision for children’s ministry under the direction of the Senior Pastor, and encourage the volunteers by developing them to care for and guide a child’s faith.
Oversee two Sunday morning worship services, infant through 4th grade.
Be creative and innovative with new outreach ideas - like Kids Camps, VBS, etc.
Work well in a team setting, meeting weekly with staff, and monthly with volunteers.
Minimum 2 years leadership experience in children’s ministry or related field.
Bachelors in children’s related field, theological training preferred.
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal.
Technologically current with computing skills.
Ability to develop and implement a ministry budget.
Excited about the incredible possibility of reaching more people of all ages with the love and grace that only Jesus offers.

Bridgeway is a non-demoninational church that was started 9 years ago. We currently meet in a school building in Rockford Public Schools (just North of Grand Rapids). Therapist (Grand Rapids, MI)

Full-time clinical position at The Salvation Army Turning Point Programs. Schedule would be Sunday - Thursday. Individual will be providing group and individual therapy to consumers living with substance abuse and mental health issues. Individual would be required to work a Saturday every four weeks as well as provide didactic lectures. Familiarity with both SUD & MH preferred as well as a working knowledge of the Grand Rapids area providers for both. Individual must have MSW or equivalent as well as CAAC or formal plan to obtain CAAC.
